((OOC: Sry guys, had to do it. XD And sry for using Sucharu, but i havent used it and im too lazy to go make up a name. =D))
Kansake Sucharu looked around the Seireitei. He was finally a Shinigami, and finally had a zanpakuto. He had done some intense training to get there, but he finally made it. He was the last chair in the 10th division, under Toshiro Hitsugaya, who was the squad captain, and Matsumoto Rangiku the squad lieutenant.
"Hey look, its the new guy. He is so weak, look at that zanpakuto, its the shortest one I've seen." he would always hear people say.
"Don't listen to them..." he would try to tell himself, but he knew inside that it hurt. He wished they would just let him be.
Everyday was the same routine for him. He would train and train so that he could become more powerful. He wanted to reach his Shikai stage, so he could be that much stronger. He waited patiently to hear the name of his Zanpakuto, but no matter how hard he trained there was never anything to be heard.
He woke up after a week of training, and thought his day was going to be like everyday, training and training to no success. But something was peculiar. As he walked around the Seireitei, no one else was there.
"Something's wrong. Maybe i should go to the barracks and check it out." Sucharu said to himself as he ran to the Squad 10 barracks.
Upon opening the door, he saw Lieutenant Rangiku, preparing for a battle.
"Ms. Matsumoto, what's going on here? Where is everybody?"
"There's a mass hollow attack, a flood of hollows have surrounded the area and are killing innocent people," she said, "Curse these big boobs, whenever i need to get ready they always get in the way," she said under her breath to herself, and then looked at Sucharu, "Hey, Sucharu, stay with me. I don't want you getting yourself killed, even if you have been training very hard everyday. I don't think you're quite ready to go alone against a hollow."
"Y-yes maam." Sucharu said somewhat frightened. He had never been in a battle with a hollow before, even though he had been attacked by one as a kid. If it weren't for the Shinigami, he would have been turned into a hollow long ago, and his best friend would have died too.
~~
"Run Sucharu! The hollow is coming!" a little boy screamed while running past Sucharu.
"Rantu, what's going on?!" Sucharu questioned.
"Just run! The hollow is coming to kill us!" Rantu said.
Sucharu ran after Rantu, his best friend for as long as he could remember. Right behind them, the hollow was following them. "Why was he after them? Why couldn't the hollow be after someone tastier?" Sucharu thought. He then remembered that Rantu and himself would get hungry, meaning they were able to be Shinigami. Which explained why the hollow was more after them, than anyone else.
The hollow had them cornered. He was about to wrap his tentacles around Sucharu and Rantu, when Sucharu saw someone appear behind the hollow.
"Rantu, I think a shinigami is here to save us!" Sucharu said looking at a man in a black robe and a sword pass by them.
The shinigami attacked the hollow, cutting its face in half, but before it died, it threw out one of its tentacles and stabbed Rantu through the chest.
"Rantu! Rantu! Are you ok?! Rantu, answer me!" Sucharu screamed while tears filled his eyes.
"This is bad. Allow me to take him to a hospital, and see if he can be healed." the shinigami said. With that, he picked up Rantu, and jumped away to a new area.
A couple weeks later, Sucharu visited the doctor to ask about Rantu, but he learned that Rantu would have to be hospitalized and was put into a state of being unconcious forever. They would try to bring him back to conciousness, but it didnt seem like he would awaken for years or so. But he was alive. That was the good part.
~~
"What are you waiting for, Sucharu We need to leave now! They are waiting for us out there!" Rangiku exclaimed as she started running. Sucharu followed closely behind.
Upon reaching the battle field, Sucharu noticed many dead shinigami and hollows lying around. he knew he would have trouble if he left Rangiku's side, so he decided he would do the best he could without leaving her area.
A hollow approached. Rangiku and Sucharu attacked it, but it dodged both attacks. The hollow caught Rangiku, and was about to eat her. Sucharu couldn't let that happen to his Lieutenant. He then heard a voice. "Kuraiyaiba!" it said.
"Loom, Kuraiyaiba!" Sucharu screamed as he felt a flow of spirit energy flow through him. His blade grew smaller, but turned black, and the edges of the sword became dark red, with the power to move faster, the power to fade into shadows, for sneaky attacks, and the power to read attacks more clearly so he could strike at an exact point.
Sucharu flashed for a moment, then appeared behind the hollows head. he watched the hollow's movements, and found a perfect open area to strike right at the face. As he readied his attack, he saw Rangiku was crying to get freed and had never seen someone of her stature scared.
Sucharu attacked. Within a second, the hollow went form standing holding Rangiku captive, to having his head split open.
Rangiku was relieved. She wiped her tears so it didn't look like she was crying, and faced Sucharu. "Good job Sucharu. You finally released your Shikai. That was amazing."
"Let's continue killing hollows Rangiku." Sucharu said as he walked past her, "The longer we wait, the more people will die."
"Please, call me Rangiku, Sucharu." Rangiku corrected.

"What's that?" Sucharu called pointing in the direction of his interest.
In the dark area of the hollow infestation stood a tall black figure. It's cloak billowed in the wind as well as it long hair. It stood motionless in the darkness waiting...for something
*Hollow cry*
From out of the misty blackness approached three Hollows from each side of the figure. The one to the right resembled a snake with long talon like claws protruding from its back. The one on the left had great arms and massive fists and a large frame. The one in front of te figure stood on four legs and two crab-lke claws that snapped the air madly. In spite of the impending doom around the figure, he stood still. The hollow with the great arms let out a fierce cry and charged the figure. Right as its hand reached it a glimmer of silver flashed and pinned its hand to the ground. The figure ran up its arm and kicked it with a powerful thrust with its right leg. The hollow flew backward, ripping its hand off as it went. Right as it slammed into the ground the figure flashed above it and sliced its face vertically. The hollow screamed and vanished in a cloud of black smoke. The other two charged simultaneously trying to swarm the foe but soon met there demise. an instant later the figure was behind them sheathing its sword as one was split in two at the waist an the other split down the middle. Both evaporated as well.
The figure silently moved away and dissapeared into the shadows.

Raikatsuji Kichi lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling in her barracks. She was off guard duty at the moment, and taking the time to daydream. She brushed a stray strand of dark blue hair from her face as she recounted her time as a Soul Reaper.
From the moment she entered the Academy and caught a glimpse of the renouned Boy Genius, Hitsugaya Toshiro, she knew she wanted to land a position in the 10th division. Lucky for her, she had.
It was merely a silly crush she had on her Squad Captain; she hardly ever talked to him, and she also knew there was probably something going on between him and Hinamori Momo, the Leiutenant of Division 5. Kichi wouldn't dare interfere if that was the case. And besides, looking was all she needed.
Of course, this hadn't been the case when she first was accepted to Division 10. She trained long and hard, day in and day out, to get to a higher rank. Eventually, she was ranked 8th in the division, but by that time, she decided to end her silly desire to be closer to him.
Kichi was just full of silly intentions.
After a while, Kichi let out a yawn, and contemplated taking a nice nap. That is, of course, until her door was so violently kicked in.
"OFFICER RAIKATSUJI! WHY AREN'T YOU OUTSIDE HELPING EVERYONE FIGHT OFF THE HOLLOWS??"
By none other than Captain Hitsugaya.
"EEP! I-I'm sorry, Captain! I'm on my way!" Kichi apologized, in a blushing, flustered frenzy, as she grabbed her zanpakto and followed him out the door.
The two Soul Reapers ran in silence, the sounds of Hollow screeches and the cries of wounded commrades filling the air. Yet, despite what was going on, Kichi couldn't get rid of her mad blushing.
I can't possibly still have a crush on him! she scolded herself. Finally, she decided it was merely because she had been thinking about him before he burst into her room. Yes, that was a good excuse.
"So, Raikatsuji, how did you not hear the warning signals?" Hitsugaya asked after a while. Kichi's heart skipped a beat in surprise, astonished that he was the one to break the silence.
"I-I'm not sure, Captain Hitsugaya...I must've been in a deep sleep..." she lied.
"Hm, good enough, I guess."
When they finally reached the battleground, they took in the sight-- carnage was everywhere, of both Hollows and Soul Reapers. Still, many others still alive were engaged in fierce battle. Kichi could even depict various Squad 4 members scurrying about to help the injured.
A moment later, Hitsugaya drew his zanpakto, and lept into battle. Kichi immediately did the same, rushing the nearest Hollow.
"KASAITORI, IGNITE!" she screamed as she approached the hideous creature. The blade of her sword morphed from a stationary, three-foot blade to an expandable, flame-engulfed whip.
With a quick lash of Kasaitori, the Hollow was dead. Kichi continued her Hollow-slaughter, along side her beloved Captain.
Damnit, there she went again.
((OOC: OMG I'm sorry if my character seems like a mary-sue....;3; But just in case she starts writing herself, no one will be mad if I eventually hook her up with Toshiro, ya? Just know that I really do rabidly ship him with Momo...^^;;;;; ))

(OOC: Just a thought to Stu. If you are trying to say she wants you to adress her informally, Rangiku is her firstname. Matsumoto is her last. If you were making her tell you to address her formally, you are correct. But that would mean your character better appologize. LOL. Well, guys, I also kind of want to be in Squad 10. Hell, why don't we all, no? Fine, I'll use my last name first for my character too then, even though we're not japanese....))
Takigawa Kanaye, the 3rd in command of the 10th Guard Squad of the Seiretei, ran through the maze-like streets of the court. He had heard all the alarms while on an errand for Ms. Matsumoto Rangiku, his lieutenant. Upon entering the Soul Reaper Academy, which had been his dream, he had gotten to see her and the captain, Toshiro Hitsugaya. She got his attention. She'd get anyone's attention no matter where she went because of her rare bust size. But this is not why he admired her. Most everyone always thought he was perverted but he just laughed at the poor fools and went about his way. He, most of his squad mates, and the beautiful lieutenant herself knew the truth. However now he was running to see what the comotion was. He could tell by the continuous calls that there was supposedly a massive hollow attack. He couldn't see it- he jumped up on to the roof to his right and continued running. Why didn't he think of this before? No he could see where to go exactly instead of just eventually getting there and he missing the action. Now he could go right towards it. Wow, it was a mess. Lots of dust in the air. Many explosions, shouts and the unmistakable cries of hollows, hopefully being slain, were straight ahead. Not much longer now at the rate he was running. His sandles made a swift and steady tapping on the shingles of the roof. No, it would not be long now. The mayhem was getting closer. He finally reached his destination and leaped into the air as to land in the midst of the chaos. Before landing he reached for his zanpaku-to and landed in an attack stance. He couldn't really see, for the dust was fresh and still thick. Something had just occured here. Because he was more or less blind, he closed his eyes and focused. He sensed the presence of something lurking pretty close. As the soul reaper stood there, forskaing his eyes, two yellow orbs became apparent in the dust cloud. Then they vanished. Thinking it had the element of surprise, the hollow attempted an ambush from it's prey's right side. When the abomination lunged, Kanaye just ginned, his eyes still closed. With only his right hand her swiftly thrust his blade in that direction so that the oncoming hollow would seal it's own fate. The hollow realized this and cried out in protest but because it had already made it's move, it was a futile effort. The corrupted soul's face, encased in a white, skull-like mask typical of all hollows, went diretly into the tip of the katana-like zanpaku-to. it kept going and was split downt the middle. It was a serpentine, insect-like hollow. So you can imagine this filleting went on for more than just a couple seconds. The defeated hollow, now in two haves, fell to the floor on eitherside of Kanaye. The remains then began to dissolve. The quick, blue flash revealed the now clensed soul and then eveything vanished. Kanaye sheathed his blade. He than patted and wiped his shihakushou. He pushed some of his semi-long, brown hair out of the way of his now open, deep green eyes. He gave a victory grunt and the proceeded forward. The cries of hollows and soul reapers continued. He would assist in the causing of more of the eerie cries of the hollows. He ran a little more. But stopped when he saw a figure in the dust ahead. He was surrounded by a few hollows. His first thought was, I should help him. But he thought better of this when he saw that he could handle himself. In a few seconds the hollows vanished after an amazing display of fighting abilities by the unknown ally. Kanaye proceeded on to regroup with his squad. He closed his eyes and stood still and erect. "Ah, there you are, Rangiku." Kanaye continued on in the same direction now knowing that his lieutant and possible other squad mates were up ahead. ((ATTENTION: Zukuto-kun requests no one replies to this until he does. That is all. Thank you.))

From within a cloud of darkness a high pitched wail pierces the night. From within the cloud a white hollow mask shoots away trailing blood as it went.
Stepping through the shadows was a man's sillhouette. He stepped forward into the moonlight and looked up into the sky. His crystal blue eyes reflected the moon creating a silver glare to them. He wore a long black robe with a long katana strapped to his left hip. From within his robes he pulled a small bottle out and drank deeply the liquid inside. He put it back and put his hand on his sword hilt removing it slightly from its sheathe.
"You've been following me for some time," he said in a low voice.
from out of the darkness approached two figures, one female and the other male. They slowly approached the man with his back to them.
The male was the first to speak. "Who are you?" he said with curiosity.
The man turned to face him. He let go of his sword and walked toward the pair. "I am Makashi Ryuu," he said. "What are you doing here?"
The woman was first to speak this time. "We are fellow soul reapers as yourself. We're here to vanquish the hollows. What squad are you from?"
"None," he said as he began to walk away.
The woman stared shocked and the male looked up at her. "Matsumoto-sama, is that possible?" She shrugged.
A loud wail echoed near the group. Ryuu stopped where he was and crouched into a fighting stance. The other two stood poised in their stances as well drawing their weapons.
"Hollows," Ryuu said. "Lot's of 'em."
From all around them hollows emerged from the blackness. All had different shapes and sizes and all bellowed in the same cry relentlessly at the soul reapers in front of them. Matsumoto, Ryuu and Sucharu stood back to back scanning the hollows.
"There's too many," Matsumoto said.
"No," Ryuu said. "We have assistance."
As if on cue a hollow to the right exploded in a rush of black smoke. A young man dropped down next to the group and stoo with his back to the center as well.
"Hey," he said. "Nice to see you all here."
"Kayane," Sucharu said. "I didn't know you were out here."
"Well it looks like we could use all the help we can get," Matsumoto said.
Ryuu drew his sword and held it next to his face.
"Now."

((OOC: Sorry Wes, i had to edit my original post with the Matsumoto mistakes and zanpakuto mistakes. Anyhoo here i go))
Sucharu and Rangiku looked around. Rangiku released her Shikai, Haineko, and ran off to kill hollows. Meanwhile, Sucharu gazed at his Zanpakuto's new form. It looked so dark, and deadly, yet wimpy and shrimpy. But he knew he prefered smaller weapons anyhow, for more sneaky and speedy killing. He quickly hid into shadows and struck the hollows.
As he found time to take a break, he watched as more and more, hollows and shinigami were dying. he watched as his captain and one of his fellow squad members fought hollows, and how Rangiku killed a few hollows, followed by Kayane and Ryuu who also fought with hollows. As he sat on the roof, he could see an amazing view of all the battles.
He sat up, and prepared to go back out and fight, when he was pierced through the shoulder. The searing pain sent him into shock, as images of his eminant death flashed through his eyes. He quickly realized this was a trap and cut his own leg to awaken from it.
"You're quite the smart one aren't you..." said the hollow, menacingly.
"Just prepare to die!" Sucharu screamed as he tried to hide in the shadows. But to no success. His Shikai state had been removed, and he had his original zanpakuto back in his hands.
"I removed your ability to use your shikai for a while... heh heh heh... i shall eat you now..." the hollow said as it charged at him with its spider like legs and ghastly white mask.
Sucharu flipped over the beast, cracking at the mask, while landing behind it, swooshing his dark red hair, that covered his left eye.
The hollow screamed in pain, but realized it had not died yet. "You shall pay for that one..." it cursed as it bean chasing Sucharu again.
Sucharu turned tail and ran, only to be caught by the hollow hooking onto his long red scarf, and flung back in front of the hollow.
The hollow gazed deeply into Sucharu's face, as he prepared to eat him. But right before the hollow could take it's first bite, a blade shot through hollows head, breaking its mask completely. The hollow then faded into nothing.
"You ok?" Rangiku said as she helped Sucharu up.
"Yeah, I'm fine... thanks..." Sucharu said as he sat down. His strength had been drained.
"Well now i don't owe you for saving me earlier." she said with a chuckle.
"Yeah... I uhh... i've been drained of my power... i think i should go to the infirmary or something..." Sucharu said, being serious.
"Oh here, I doubt you could make it there, its really far away. I can take care of you here, witht he help of squad four of course..." Rangiku stated as she dashed off to find a squad four member. Sucharu passed out.
Upon waking up, he saw he was still in the same spot, with a squad four member he knew.
"Taisushu? What are you doing here?" Sucharu asked.
"I'm healing you." Taisushu responded, "Now go back to sleep. You are more hurt than you think. You could die if you keep wasting energy."
With that, Taisushu gave Sucharu a pill, and he fell asleep as Rangiku worriedly watched over Taisushu's shoulder.

((OOC: AH, finally. Domo arigato, Stu. Here we go...))
The mayhem had finally ceased. There were wounded soul reapers, rubble and blood sprinkled everywhere. Some probably died. It wasn't hard to tell. The ones still alive were occompanied by a member of squad 4. Kayane sheathed his sword as he walked up to meet the small cluster of comrades, Rangiku, Toshiro, Sucharu, and the mysterious, squadless Ryuu. Kayane said nothing for a few seconds. He, too, stared out upon the demolished buildings and streets. He let the others take in the destruction for a few more moments. "First things firsts," everyone's attention went to Kayane. "What's that, Kayane?" Rangiku was more curious then remorseful. "How the hell did these hollows get inside the berrier, and so damn many of them, too," Kayane's expression and tone of voice matched eachother perfectly with a stern, angry appearance and tone. "That's what I've been wondering as well," Toshiro said with his usual, stoic composure. "I think we all have," came Sucharu's blunt, but neccesary reply. Toshiro agreed with a slight grunt. "Orders, Captain?" Kayane stood up straight as he said this, facing Toshiro. He let his gaze slip to his lieutenant's. She was in trance staring straight down. She was obviously thinking about and feeling sympathy for this massacre. After a moment her eyes met his and he softend his expression a little and gave a very slight nod. This releived Rangiku a little, as she relaxed as well. He was usually able to do such things. He didn't like to see her like that. He never wanted to see her in anyway besides her cheery self. Except for in a battle, of course. "Hm," Toshiro thought for a moment before fulfilling Kayane's request. "First of all," he turned to Ryuu, "what squad are you in?" "He hasn't got one," Rangiku replied with uncertainty in her voice. "Is that so... well, we'll deal with him later. I take it you will follow my orders? I have seen you obviously wish to assist us in our conflict first hand, so I assume doing what I say won't be a problem to you, as long as it is of benefit to all. "Yes," was Ryuu's simple reply. "Good. You seem to be able to handle yourself. You will go alone. Kayane. You too should be all right on you own." "Yes, sir!" "Good. Sucharu, you and Matsumoto go together. Raikatsuji," she blushed at this sudden turn of fortune, "you will acompany me to try and get some infromation on what happened here from the other captains and maybe even the library. Everyone else, search for clues. Split up as I have just designated to cover more ground. You may go into the Rukon if you deem it neccesary. We need to find out what happened here and why. And ultimately, end it. Dismissed." The group flashed for a moment then dissapeared. They were all traveling in different dierections so they could maybe find out what happened to what they thought was their protected home.

bAs Sucharu and Rangiku dashed away from the others, Rangiku turned her head towards Sucharu.
"Well, friend, it looks like we are a team still." Rangiku said with a smile. Sucharu felt a warm feeling. Ever since he had gotten into the Seireitei, he had never had any friends. Everyone had made fun of him instead of accepting him. He hadn't had a friend since Rantu.
~~
"Hey Sucharu?" Rantu said as Sucharu awoken.
"What is it Rantu? What's up?" Sucharu asked.
"We need to get some candy... I really want some..." Rantu replied.
"Well what do you expect me to do about it?" Sucharu asked.
"Maybe we can go steal some or something..." Rantu said.
"Please... we can't steal, we are no good... there is no way we could pull that off." Sucharu replied disappointedly.
"We could, because we have eachother as best friends. I'm sure we could pull anyhting off. It's always been just you and me. We can do anything." Rantu encouraged.
~~
Sucharu smiled at the memory.
"Are you there Sucharu? Anyone home?!" Rangiku said as she hit his head with her fist.
"Yeah yeah, I'm here. Just remembering something from my past..." Sucharu said.
They entered the Rukon district. Sucharu was amazed at the rush of memories that filled his head, all about him and Rantu.
As they asked and looked around, Sucharu was more focused on his memories. They then passed the hospital; the hospital where Rantu was being kept.
"Rangiku, can we go visit someone real fast? An old friend of mine is being kept in this hospital right here, and I'd really like to see him real fast. It won't be long..." Sucharu asked.
"Ok, but make it snappy." Rangiku sternly replied.
They wandered into the hospital and up to Rantu's room. Sucharu froze as he was about to open the door. The knob was turning by itself. As the door opened, an older looking version of Rantu passed by him. Sucharu was shocked at how much spirit energy was flowing Rantu.
"R-r-r-r-Rantu...? I-is that you?" Sucharu questioned.
"Yo, Sucharu, what's up? When did you get so tall, and who's the lady friend? (meeow~<3)
"Rantu... I've been waiting so long for you to finally wake up... as you can see, I've joined Squad 10... I'm now a Shinigami..." Sucharu said, flabberghasted by what was happening. He had no idea that Rantu would wake up.
"Yeah? Well, I'm gonna join too. Hopefully, I can be in the same Squad as you." Rantu replied as he passed Sucharu and walked out of the hospital.
Sucharu stood in shock. He was dumbstruck at how Rantu was awake and how Rantu was so calm and not even excited to be alive. Rantu acted so casual, not even happy to see Sucharu.
"Come on Sucharu, we need to go now." Rangiku commanded.
"Yeah... I'm coming..." Sucharu followed behind her, slumping more than usual. Sucharu didn't know how to react to all of this. On one side, his best friend had finally woken up, after years of being in a coma-like state. On the other hand, Rantu had pretty much ditched him, and acted like he didn't care.
Sucharu looked to the groundlooked to the sky and wondered what Rantu was doing now.
~
Rantu looked to the sky, and wondered when he was going to be accepted to the Seireitei. He had not only summoned a giant zanpakuto, but had already released his Shikai, which was a frozen axe named "Toukanono".
"Tosu Rantu, you have been accepted as a Shinigami in Squad 11, under captain Zaraki Kenpachi and lieutenant Kusajishi Yachiru. Please make your way to Squad 11 barracks now.

((OOC: first off, WESLEY!! YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO POST IN HERE UNLESS IT'S AN RP POST!! That's what OOC chats are for. Second, OMG THANKS FOR PUTTING ME WITH TOSHIRO!! X333))
As Kichi followed Toshiro through the maze-like streets of the Seireitei, she couldn't help but feel a little unnerved. As luck would have it, she had been in a position where she was working first-hand with her captain, who she had a crush on. She was working with him for the second time that day. And it was, again, only the two of them.
Suddenly, Toshiro stopped, and Kichi nearly ran into him.
"Why'd we stop, Captain Hitsugaya?" Kichi asked. Toshiro looked around.
"I'm trying to locate other captains," he explained.
"Oh, right. Of course." Kichi felt a little stupid for thinking they might be lost, and not having enough faith in her captain. She blushed, and studied the ground.
"I think I've found the location of Division 5's captain." Toshiro informed her after a moment. "Let's get going."
"Right!" Kichi said enthusiastically, and began following Toshiro.
~~~
A few moments later, Kichi and Toshiro found Momo. She had just finished slaying a Hollow when they arrived.
"Momo!" Toshiro called to her as they ran up. She turned around in response to her name.
"Shiro-Chan!" she greeted merrily. Toshiro looked irritated.
"I told you not to call me that." he reminded in a harsh tone. "By the way, this is one of my squad members, Raikatsuji Kichi. We're searching for the reasoning behind this sudden mass Hollow attack." Toshiro informed her. Kichi bowed to Momo when she was introduced, and Momo bowed in return.
"I see. Well, I'm not sure where Captain Aizan is, but I'll be happy to assist if you want!" Momo offered. After hearing this, Kichi couldn't help but get all fired up inside. Today was her day with Captain Hitsugaya, and she wasn't about to share it with anyone! Especially not Momo.
"No, that won't be necessary, Momo." Toshiro told her. "I don't want Captain Aizan to worry about where you went. But thanks for offering." Momo nodded in understanding, and Kichi felt herself sigh in relief.
"You're welcome, Toshiro. If you're looking for Squad Captains, though, I think I saw Captain Zaraki somewhere in the west part of Seireitei."
"Thank you, Momo. See you later." With that, Toshiro and Kichi were off again, this time in search of Captain Zaraki.
((OOC: I only did that because this was the best place. Why the hell would I say that in a compeltly different forum? That's just stupid, and that is something I'm not. And your welcome for me having the captain choose you. You owe me! Better not screw with my character later. lol JK! But seriously, don't...))
"Officer Takigawa!" Kayane slid to a stop and turned to see lieutenant Abarai Renji and captain Kuchiki Byakuya. "Hey there, lieutenant Abarai. Captain Kuchiki," Kayane acknowledged. Byakuya didn't respond, as usual. "Found anything yet?" Renji asked. "No, not yet," was Kayane's sullen reply. "We have. Well, actually it was captain Kuchiki who did. But of course we wouldn't expect anything less than the best from him, right?" Wow, this guys is a real kiss-ass! Kayane thought, I guess if Byakuya was my captain I'd probably be similar. That guy is kind of scary... "Our clues have told us to check Rukon. Well, beyond Seireite." "Well, I'll guess I'll go check out the nearest district then," Kayane replied. "Sure thing. There are already some soul reapers checking the Rukon already. But as you know there is lots of ground to cover. No one has been dispatched to this district yet so go right on ahead." Finally Byakuya spoke. "I will make sure to send a Hell Butterfly to the captain-commander with my information and which districts still need a soul reaper to pursue the perpetrator or perpetrators. We need to have all of Soul Society searched and the enemy stopped before they decide to leave to either Hueco Mundo or, the human world..." His last words stung Kayane. He had a look of minor shock on his face. The job of the soul reapers were to balance the souls between Soul Soceity and the human world. Failing in this next task would cause big problems later. If they could not catch this new enemy, they had best hope that they chose to flee to Hueco Mundo. Reguardless, Kayane, as well as everyone else, still wanted to know how the hell someone or someones could get hollows into Soul Soceity, or Seireite for that matter. And so many hollows at that. Yes, those last words shook him, but they also gave him more determination. He forced the shock to fade away into a stern, understanding visage. "Understood, Captain Kuchiki," Kayane said with a nod. "Good luck, Kayane-kun," Renji said with his usual grin and cocky dimeanor. "Thank you, Renji-kun," Kayane said, his right corner of his mouth raised and curled in to a grin he couldn't surpess, but didn't want to. He had always liked lieutenant Abarai. They were sort of what you would call friends. Kayane turned and ran toward the Rukon.
((OOC: but wes...thats why u post it in the Bleach RP OOC section of OOc chats...and Ashley I'm interupting your meeting witht he next captain to show u the source of the hollow breach, so i join you and toshiro for a little while.))
Ryuu drove his Zanpakuto into another hollow's head and it evaporated. He quicky sheathed his blade and jumped up on rooftop. He scanned the area until he fell to his knees. He tried to stand but felt an agonizing spirit pressure somewhere near the gate.
What is that, he thought to himself.
He looked around for the source of the energy until he saw a purple light eminating from the gate to Sereitei. He stood and jumped from roof to roof toward the gate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Upon reaching the gate, Ryu jumped down from the roof tops to a nearby alley. He walked down until he got to the end that looked straight out at the gate. He pressed his back against the wall and peeked out. He scanned the gate until he found the source of the illumination. A large rift had been torn into the gate. It stood stretched up taller that a building and pulsed with a black and purple energy. Another shockwave wracked Ryuu. Ryuu jumped away in time to avoid the explosion of the alley way. He loked back and saw that a hollow had apeared from the rift and hurried of toward Sereitei. Ryuu grabbed his Zanpakuto's hilt.
No, he said to himself, I cant do this alone. I need to find some help.
Just as he was about to leave a hollow jumped from a roof top and at Ryuu. It bit at him and Ryuu clocked it on the forehead with his fist. the hollow stumbed back and rubbed its head with its large hand. The hollow dropped its hand and bellowed in anger. Ryuu looked up and saw ten more hollows over head. They all dropped down and cornered him against a building. Ryuu grabbed his Zanpakuto and unsheathed it.
"Gi!" he shouted releasing his shikai.
His blade flashed a white light and the hollows grabbed their eyes in pain. When they recovered they saw the blade had not changed shape, it had remained exactly the same. The middle hollow began to laugh.
"What's wrong," it hissed. "Having problems with your sword?"
"No," Ryuu replied coldly.
He then slammed his sword's blade into the building. The building errupted and crumbled as the blow struck it. Debris littered the ground behind Ryuu as the the entire building lay in ruin. The hollows gasped and took a step back.
"It's working just fine," Ryuu followed with a grin.
The hollows reared back and ran as Ryuu faked a step forward. they ran back towardthe portal and dissapeared into the blackness. Ryuu's sword flashed white again and he sheathed it. He looked back at the portal and ran down the street for help.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryuu had run nearly six blocks when he saw a sliver haired male accompanied by a female with short blue hair. He noticed their soul society uniforms and recognized them as Toshiro and Kichi.
"Kichi! Toshiro!" he shouted at them.
Rangiku and Sucharu ventured around the Rukon, but could not find anything suspicious until...
"Sucharu, take a look over there... at that guy with the scythe..." Rangiku gestured. She pointed at a man covered in blue rags, with only his eyes and his hands showing. His eyes were white, as if he was blind, and his hands had black thimbles on the tips of his fingers. On his back, he had a large bluish scythe.
"What about him? Other than the fact that he looks kinda creepy... we can't just judge a guy by his looks..." Sucharu replied, "Although, it is weird he would have a scythe... Let's go ask some questions."
They ran to the guy, but he ran away faster. They continued running after him, but the man was just too fast. Rangiku thought of a plan. She grabbed Sucharu by his robe, and threw him at the runaway. He flew through the air until he hit into the man in the blue rags.
"Owowowowowowowowow! What was that for?!" Sucharu asked as he rubbed his head.
"We've caught the mysterious man." Rangiku said happily.
Sucharu looked underneath him. He was on top of the man in blue rags. They moved his unconsious body to an alley way, and as soon as he woke up, they would question him.
"Where-where am I?" the man asked himself.
"Hello there, sir. I believe you have some explaining to do. These thimbles... and this scythe... they are the items of a summoner... but why? Why are you attacking the Seireitei?" Rangiku asked.
"Because you ghouls don't deserve to live!" the man screamed. His eyes started to glow, and his scythe started moving on its own. It started to spin vertically and flew straight at Rangiku. Rangiku jumped and dodged it, but it came around for another strike. Sucharu jumped in front of it, and got his stomach cut, but he stopped the scythe from attacking Rangiku. Rangiku captured the myterious man, and picked up Sucharu in her other arm, and dashed off back to the Seireitei.
As they were on their way back, a hollow appeared and attacked Rangiku, since she was defenseless, she was instantly wounded. She dropped the mysterious man and left with Sucharu in her arms.
Sucharu woke up. He could feel the warmth of Rangiku close to him and enjoyed the feeling. He had never been hugged before, or given any sign of affection. Rangiku really cared about him. He had been semi concious when she had dropped the mysterious man to save him, but passed out again shortly afterwards. He felt loved. He and Rangiku would hopefully be friends for a long time. But hsi mind wandered to Rantu. What had Rantu been up to? Sucharu fainted again.
~
"Captain Zaraki, i wish you could continue your training with me. I wish to become stronger." Rantu demanded to Captain Zaraki.
"Well Rantu... you're... so powerful already. You're well on your way to being as powerful as I am, if not more powerful." Captain Zaraki sternly replied.
"Stronger than you Ken-chan?! No way! No one could ever do that!" lieutenant Kisujishi exclamed in shock.
"You never know..." Captain Zaraki replied.
After thuroughly searching the western section of the Seireitei, Kichi and Toshiro saw no sign of Captain Zaraki.
"Hm, I guess he isn't here," Toshiro reasoned after they gave up searching.
"Could Leiutenant Momo have given us false information for some reason?" Kichi asked, wondering out loud. Toshiro shook his head.
"No, that's highly unlikely," he answered. "Though she did suspect me of trying to destroy the Soul Society some time ago."
"What?! That's ridiculous! Why would someone as loyal and kind as you try to destroy the Soul Society?? And why would someone accuse someone like you of doing such a thing??" Kichi practically flailed as she shouted this, appauled at Momo's conclusion. Toshiro smirked.
"I'm not sure...But it's nothing to make a big deal about," he told her. She blushed deeply when she realized he was on to her.
"Ah, s-sorry, Captain Histugaya!"
Suddenly, the cry of a Hollow rang out, and it was close by.
"A Hollow!" Toshiro announced, drawing his zanpakto and crouching into a battle-ready stance. Kichi did the same. When they didn't see the Hollow approaching, they became confused.
"Where is it, Captain? I don't see it," Kichi asked, looking around. Toshiro did the same, when another cry sounded. He looked to the sky, and froze in shock.
"Up there, Raikatsuji!" he shouted, pointing to the sky. Kichi followed his finger, and gasped.
There was a tear in the sky, seemingly, and a Hollow was emerging from it.
"Ho-...How??" was all that Kichi could mutter.
"I don't know...."
((OOC: Um...is that good? The whole 'tear in the sky...seemingly' thing? If there's a more proper term for it, lemme know. But I was thinking that the summoner dude that Stu wrote about could have created it or something.))
((OOC: Sounds fine, Ash As for the OOC chat thing, guys just leave me alone about this crap, it's in the past. Besides I'm new to this message board I don't know where it is. So forgive me, sheeesh.)) Kayane returned to Seireite disheadtened. He didn't find alot out about what was going on. Then her realized that he had found out something, he lightnened up. His optmistic side always won in the end. He was walking with his head slightly down and his gaze low as well. When he got near Seireite he felt a strange sensation. He looked up to see the gate had been lowered all around. He also noticed that no one was in sight. When he had left the Seireite there were many people about. He smiled and waved and greeted some as he passed. He was one of the few Soul Reapers that anyone of Rukon liked. He didn't have the typical arrogance of the common soul reaper. He was kind and respectful. He did his job well and also took it upon himself to help the people of Rukon. He didn't agree that they should live those crappy. There was no explanation for how the Soul Society worked. Even if there was, he would reject it. The Soul Reapers were not almighty. They shouldn't be living so well when other souls, who's only crime was pretty much that they lacked reiatsu, or spirit power. Anyway, when everyone was in hiding in meant that a Ryoka had entered the Seireite. Well, the biggest give away was that the gate had fallen into place. When it fell, everyone who lived next to the border of central Rukon ran for cover. This was not boding well. Kayane aproached the gate and it was raised so he could enter and it slammed behind him. He dashed off to find his squad. He located the closest spirit pressure of his squad mates. The energy signature read that of lieutenant Matsumoto Rangiku. "I'm-a comin', Rangiku." ------------------------------------- Rangiku suddenly snapped to from her trance-like gaze as she ran with Sucharu tucked into her bossom towards the infirmary. She sensed a familiar spirit energy racing towards her posotion. She slowed to a stop. Shortly after Kayane rounded the corner and trotted up to her. He bowed and said, "Takigawa Kayane, reporting in, ma'am!" He announced with vigor and intensity. "Rangiku chuckled in repsonse and replied, "You know you don't have to be so formal, Kayane-kun." "Hehe, you sure there, Ms. Matsumoto?" "You know I don't care, with you anyway," Kayane grinned. He then realized what she was carrying. "Hey, Rangiku..." "Huh?" Her reply was that of surprise. Her comrades face threw her off. "Is the kid OK?" "Oh, him? Yeah! He'll be fine. It's best we run him to the infirmary, though, as soon as possible." "Well, that's not mugh further now. Here, let me see him." Kayane took the unconcious Sucharu from the lieutenant and carried him on his back. ((Like how Ichigo ferris Rukia around. ^_^)) "Thanks, he is pretty heavy. That kid is strong, and full of reiatsu." "No kidding," Kayane said with slight discomfort in his voice as he corrected the wait. On his back, "definately has lots of potential. Let's get going" The two ran to the infirmary. -------------------------------------------- As Hanatoro ((That's his name, right?)) of 4th squad tended to Sucharu's needs, the two discussed the pressing matter(s) at hand. Kayane regurgitated what little information he had recieved from some members of Rukon. He said that someone had noticed a robed with stange hands and a scythe-like weapon. He had also learned that he had been roaming around through the different districts and had past throught the one Kayane had just gone through a day or so ago. Rangiku confirmed thisinformation and gave him even more strange stuff to digest. "Yes, that all checks out," Rangiku acknowledge with a sense of dread. "You don't sound too happy about that..." was Kayane's worried response. "No, you're right, I'm not. The man you speak of is a summoner," "A summoner? Hm, I won't ask you what that means. It's pretty damn obvious what he does..." "Hehe, thanks," he was glad he was able to lighten her up a little. He didn't like seeing her normal self masked by so much seriousness. He didn't like that for anyone for that matter," yes, but anyway, apparently he has managed away into Seireite. I'm guessing he worked something out. From what you say, he's been in Soul Society for some time now. Everything is speculation, of course..." "Of course," Kayane agreed, "but this is all we can do. It does all seem to click. We'll find out everything as soon as we can. That's what we do. Good work, Rangiku," Kayane gave her an approving smile. She smiled back and closed her eyes while tilting her head down. "You're a great friend, Kayane." "As are you, Rangiku." Hanatoro walked over to them from the other end of the ward where Sucharu lay resting. "How is he?" CameRangiku's remorseful response. "He'll be jsut fine. He can return to duty very soon, I assume," Hanatoro seemed so confident. "Thank you, Hanatoro." "No problem at all, Matsumoto-san," the healer responded with much modesty as awlays. "Lets go, Kayane." "Right!' The pair ran outside. They began to hunt down their captain. As they started the hunt, they noticed something very unusual. The two came to an aburpt halt. The stared into the sky. "Oh my-" Rangiku began with a shocked appearance and tone. "What the hell is that!" Kayane's reaction was a concoction of intensity, confusion, and a little fear. The question was obviously rhetorical. Rangiku just shook her head slowly from side to side. The unmistakeable, bone-chilling cry that could only belong to something such as a hollow tore through the air and snapped the two back into reality. "We need to find Toshiro..." Rangiku was now focused. Her speach was stern. "Let's roll," Kayane said witht the same mellow volume and the same intensity as his lieutenant, "Captain Hitsugaya here we come." ((OOC: Wow, I really love writing... Obviously... Well I hope this was good/OK. AM I screwing anything up? Is this an exceptable addition to the story?))
((OOC: Should we mass all the characters together for the hollow? Sounds kinda serious if they are gonna chase down their captain...))
"Wha- Where am I? Where's Rangiku? You, over there, where is Rangiku?" Sucharu snapped.
"You talk to me like that?" Rantu said as he turned around. Sucharu had not even recognized him. He had changed a lot.
"R-Rantu... w-what are y-you doing here?" Sucharu asked.
"I think we shoudl have a duel. See which one of us is stronger." Rantu said chuckling.
"Why?! We should be fighting hollows, not eachother!" Sucharu yelled. Rantu appeared in front of him, covering his mouth.
"Who cares. I want to fight a fellow shinigami... to the death... and i have always wanted to compete with you... heh heh heh." Rantu said as he released Sucharu's mouth.
"You're F@#$&% crazy!!" Sucharu screamed. Rantu dashed at him and axe kicked him in the stomach, leaving Sucharu unconcious. He picked up Sucharu, and dashed away to an open area. Sucharu had woken up, like he had planned.
"Where the... why the hell am I here?" Sucharu asked.
"You have to fight for your life, and kill me to win. Go!" Rantu exclaimed.
"You really are like your deranged captain!" Sucharu said as he dodged Rantu's slashes.
"Heh heh heh, die! Freeze, Toukanono!" Rantu shouted as his Zanpakuto transformed into a big frozen axe.
"I won't fight you! Why do you insist on fighting?! I thought we were best friends!" Sucharu asked.
"You fell for that, please, you are so blind. I was gonna kill you eventually." Rantu admitted.
Sucharu froze in shock. He felt a rage that he had never felt before. "Loom, Kuraiyaiba!" he said as his blade shrank and became darker.
"Thats your shikai? Please. That thing grew smaller. You couldn't win if you tried." Rantu teased.
"Oh really? Heh heh heh... I'm gonna have fun killing you..." Sucharu grimmly muttered. He disappeared into the shadows.
As Rantu looked around, Sucharu hid underneath him. He lifted his hand out of the shadows, with his znapakuto, and tried to slash Rantu's ankle. Rantu jumped into the air.
"Won't get me with that." Rantu challenged as he landed in a new area.
Sucharu hid back in the shadows, and moved to Rantu's new location. Sucharu distracted Rantu with moving a branch near him, and finally slashed Rantu's ankle.
"Gotcha." Sucharu bragged as Rantu keeled over.
"Damn you... try this on for size!" Rantu yelled, " Frost Spikes!" Rantu said as he pointed his axe at Sucharu. At that moment, Ice spikes arose from the ground, and quickly appeared until they got to Sucharu. Sucharu jumped to dodge them, and landed next to Rantu.
"I waited so many years for my best friend, and you are what comes out of waiting? I wish i never waited." Sucharu said as he pierced Rantu through the chest with his zanpakuto, "I win."
"Heh... you always did fall for my tricks... i never was going to kill you then and i was never gonna kill you now," Rantu said as he started losing his conciousness, "Gotcha..."
"You dumbass... how could you do this to me?!" Sucharu screamed. He had to run. He had no better option. Sucharu ran as fast as he could. He was scared, tired and depressed.
"Oof! Hey, watch where you're- Rangiku? Kayane? What are you guys doing?" Sucharu asked.
"We are looking for captain Hitsugaya. Join us. I knew you'd catch up." Rangiku said happily.
They continued their search for captain Hitsugaya and Kichi.
Kichi and Toshiro stood frozen for several moments at the sight of hollows tearing a rift in the sky. The only thing that snapped them out of their trance was the sound of their names being called.
"Hitsugaya!" They both wheeled around, only to find Ryuu running up to them.
"Ryuu," Toshiro said when he recognized him.
"Hey, it's that rouge shinigami!" Kichi exclaimed. Ryuu stopped when he approached them, and looked up at the rift.
"It's happening here too, I see," he said. Toshiro and Kichi looked alarmed.
"What are you talking about, 'here too'?" he asked frantically. Ryuu looked him square in the eye.
"A rift is being torn at the gate to Seireite as well," he informed them. Kichi gasped, and Toshiro swore under his breath.
"Damnit! How is this happening?!" Toshiro yelled. He growled angrilly as he thought of a reasonable explaination.
Suddenly, a huge swarm of hollows started coming towards them, the sounds of their combined cries piercing the ears of the three soul reapers.
"Captain! We need to find help! We can't take them alone!" Kichi yelled to Toshiro as she covered her ears. The hollows let out another cry.
"Agreed! Let's go find Matsumoto and the others!" Toshiro responded, and the three of them ran off.
((OOC i didnt feeling like reading who exactly was with who so ill start with us all together...so its easier lol [laziness ftw] ))
Toshiro and his group met up with Matsumoto, Kayane and Sucharu and told them to come along with him to discuss a plan about the hollows. Toshiro led the group to an abandoned building and they ducked inside for a meeting.
The group of shinigami stayed in a building near one of the rifts. Sucharu and Matsumoto sat on a table discussing plans for future hollow battles. Kayane sat down on the ground and leaned against the wall looking up at the ceiling tapping his Zanpakuto's hilt absentmindedly. Toshiro paced the middle of the room with Kichi watching his every stride with close attention. And Ryuu tood leaning against the wall by the door with his left hand on his chin and his right on his Zanpakuto. After being quiet and listening to everyone's murmurs he stirred.
"What's the plan?" he said not looking up.
"What do you mean, 'What's the plan?' We thought yo had one!" Kayane said sternly.
"I have one theory but I'd like to hear eveyone else out," Ryuu stated still not looking up. The shroud from his large wicker hat kept all but his mouth in the shadows.
"Well," Toshiro began. "Logically we should all try to close the rifts. Every hollow we let in means another shinigami dies."
"That's a good idea!" Kichi replied.
"It isn't," was Ryuu's blunt reply.
The others gasped and looked to Toshiro for his reaction.
"And who are you to say it isn't," Toshiro said.
"Just a fellow shinigami, but the logical thing to do would be to find the thing that is making these rifts." Ryuu stated. "What's to stop it from making another rift after we close one. At that rate we'd just tire ourselves out. If we attack at the source we may be able to stop this crisis and find out why this is happening and who is behind this."
The group whispered amongst each other. Toshiro silenced them.
"What leads you to believe there is something making these rifts?" Toshir asked.
"Well, upon meeting Sucharu and Matsumoto they told us of a being that summons these things. Were you not paying attention?" Ryuu asked slightly smirking.
Toshiro blushed. "N-No, i was just, preoccupied."
"Whatever," Ryuu said dropping his smirk.
"Ok," he said. "We'll go along with your plan, rouge. But you will go with Kichi and I so I can keep an eye on you. I don't know you very well and don't take kindly to betrayal. Sucharu, Rangiku, Kayane, you will go together in a group and search the left section of Seireitei while we search the right. We'll use this place as a base so that we can meet here if we've found anything. Matsumoto. Signal me if you find anything."
Matsumoto nodded and slapped Kayane and Sucharu on their backs.
"Let's get going, The sooner we find this thing the better." she said as she walked out the door."
Kayane and Sucharu left as well trailing behind her. Toshiro looked Ryuu over. He stood still still not looking up at him.
"Please," Toshiro began. "I'd like to see the face of my new ally."
Ryuu dropped his left hand slowly and reached up with his right hand to remove his hat. He took it off and slid it back so the string hung the hat on his back. His face was strong and stoic. He had long spiked green hair and piercing blue eyes. He stared at Toshiro unwavering.
"Satisfied?" he said. Without listening for a reply he put his hat back on and walked out the door. Toshiro looked back at Kichi who watched him walk out. She looked back at Toshiro and smiled.
"We can trust him," she said.
"And how do you know?" he replied.
"I just do," she said simply and strolled out the door. Toshiro watched her leave and shook his head.
"What am I getting myself into..."
The three traveled in silence. The situation at hand was taking a toll on them. Finally Sucharu said spoke. "So how about that Ryuu guy, huh?" "Yeah, really," was Rangiku's reply of agreement, "he's very mysterious and very strong." "Yeah, he scares me a little," Sucharu was still shaken up from the days events. "I kind of like the guy," blurted Kayane. He was obviously in a better mind set then his two companions. "What!" Sucharu exclaimed. "Why's that, Takigawa?" Rangiku only used some sort of formality around others. "He's very straightforward. We could use alot more people like him." "Yeah, I guess I can agree there. That guy sure does seem like he'll be alot of help to us," Rangiku seemed to be digesting this new concept of Ryuu. "Kind of like that one guy, what's his name, the one who basically every soul in existance is in debt to," Kayane was stuggling to remember his name." "What are you talking about, Takigawa-san," Sucharu wouldn't know of the man he spoke of. "Yeah, he's saved our asses plenty of times. It's a shame when we have to have a human help us do our job. You know who I mean, right Rangiku?" "Oh, yes, of course! The Soul Reaper Representative!" "OH! I know a little about him!" Sucharu aprarenlty had heard of his accompilishmetns. "Yeah, the kid with the crazy hair and an even crazier zanpaku-to." "Kurosaki... Kurosaki, Ichigo...." Rangiku was remembering. "Yeah, that's him. Hell, if find our selves uncapable again, we coul always seek him out. Maybe the Quincy, too." "And Orihime, and the others!" Rangiku was now very excited. "Yeah! Man, that girl is cute," this made Rangiku a little jealous as was only aparent by her slight blush. She regained composre. "Well, let's hope it doesn't get to that. Ichigo is indeed very strong and has helped us out in huge ways, but it's our job." "Yeah, yeah, I know. But I'm just saying, if it comes to it, we must not hesitate. Who cares about pride when all realms are at stake. "Agreed," Matsumoto replied to Kayane, "We better find that damn summoner again. We should be able to track his spiritual signature. I don't think I could forget it. That guy was one of the strangest souls I've ever encountered." They pressed on in search of the mysterious being with the lieutenant in the lead.
((OOC: I geuss we all kind of are taking a break. Hell, I didn't even mean to but it ended up short.))
