(OKokok, I now ditch plot now in favor of some GRATUITOUS ROYAI *salivates*)
Riza Hawkeye closed the door behind her and walked quietly over to her desk to resume filling out paperwork. The vast majority of it was actually Roy's, but she didn't mind completing it as well. If you wanted something done, you had to do it yourself. She tried to go back to doing paperwork, but something kept itching at her brain. Finally, she looked up.
"Sir?" Roy looked up from his own pile of paperwork.
"Yes, first lieutenant?" She cleared her throat, wondering how best to phrase what she was about to ask him.
"Sir, something the major said to the girls - he told them to watch out for you, and that you have 'more libido than a jackrabbit'. I was only wondering -you're not going to -er-toy with their emotions, are you?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Why so concerned, first lieutenant?" She sighed.
"They're nice girls, and, quite frankly sir, they're much too young for you." He nodded.
"They most certainly are. Certainly you don't think I'm as lascivious as to hit on a couple of teenage girls, do you?" She colored slightly.
"Well, sir, I-"
"Let me assure you, first lieutenant, I much prefer grown women." Of course. Wouldn't she know it, too? He always seemed to be somewhere with one of his many girlfriends, very obviously fully-grown women. She had passed them on the streets several times, him walking along with a gorgeous woman, whispering sweet nothings in her ear, and Riza walking along by herself, or even with Black Hayate. She returned to her paperwork with a vengeance. She was so completely vigorous in her completion of the paperwork, however, that she snapped the top right off her pen.
"Damn." she muttered under her breath, and rifled around in her desk for a new one.
"Is something wrong, first lieutenant?" She shook her head.
"Nothing, sir." She was behaving like an idiot. But somehow, he always brought that out in her. He brought out her best, and her worst, as well as every feeling she had firmly told herself she wouldn't have for a commanding officer. Oddly enough, instead of pressing her further, he promptly attacked his paperwork with a pen.
"Damn Fraternization rules..." He muttered, which was a very strange thing for him to say at the moment.
"Sir...?" Before she could ask him what on earth he was going on about, the door opened and Second Lieutenant Jean Havoc walked in.
"Colonel, Major Sorbate asked me to tell you that the girls are ready for their assessment now." Roy nodded, and stood, and he and Havoc walked out into the hallway, leaving Riza alone with the paperwork.
~
"Permission to speak freely, sir?" Havoc and Roy were walking down the hallways of central headquarters to one of the examination rooms.
"Permission granted." Roy said, wondering what the other man would want to talk about.
"Sir, when I walked into your office earlier, I couldn't help but notice..."
"Yes?" He hesitated, then continued.
"Well, sir, to be honest, the sexual tension was so think you could cut it with a knife." Roy gaped.
"What?"
"Yeah, my thoughts exactly. For a moment there I thought I had walked into the wrong office. I just thought I'd let you know, because of, well, you know. Fraternization rules." Roy sighed.
"I hate those rules." Havoc thought a moment.
"I have a plan." Roy looked at him, "I'm going to have a chat with Hakuro when this is done, see if I can't convince him to maybe bend the rules in favor of a relationship we've all been hoping for for years." Roy stared.
"All?" Havoc chuckled.
"Hell, we even have bets on when and where it'll happen." Roy said nothing, only shook his head in amazement as they entered the examination room. He pushed all thoughts of Riza out of his mind to focus on the task at hand.

After what seemed like ages of searching, Kai finally found the Major, Alora, and Rei speaking to each other in a corridor. Why was Kai even returning to them? He should've just walked right out of the door. Yet... he still felt like he wanted to help these two girls achieve their dreams... they reminded him of home, for some reason...
"Oh, look, if it isn't your training buddy," as Kai walked towards the group.
"Erm... what exactly are you going to make him do, Major?" asked Rei.
"Well, I have business to attend to-- but it's Kai's job to do your guys's dirty work during your training," explained the Major.
"...dirty work?" Kai said. He didn't like the sound of that.
[[ Sorry about the length again. -_-; ]]

(OOC: Ok, w00tness for t3h posting!)
"Erm, what exactly do you mean by 'dirty work'?" Kai asked, dreading what the Major's answer would be.
"Actually when I say 'dirty work' I mean, quite literally, dirty work. You see, they need to make up years and years of training in a few short weeks, so they won't have time for much past studying and sleeping. They won't have time to cook or clean." The blood drained from Kai's face. It drained from Alora and Rei's faces as well; this boy didn't look capable of tackling the duties of a housekeeper.
"So you're saying..." He trailed off, and Merrick nodded.
"Exactly. You're going to be their maid."
"Ahem," Everyone turned and looked at the sound of a throat being cleared. Colonel Mustang was standing in the doorway. "If you're done terrorizing that poor boy, Major Sorbate, can we get on with the assessment? I have other business to attend to." He turned to Lieutenant Havoc, "Speaking of which, don't you have a meeting with General Hakuro?" Quite unexpectedly, Havoc let out a 'whoop!' of joy, and saluted Mustang.
"Of course, sir!" He scurried off down the hall, and Kai followed, as Roy looked at the two girls in a way that made both shudder.
"All right, ladies," he began, "Let's see what you're made of."

(dammit, why do I hafta write this part??? *sob*)
Roy lead them out to the parade grounds to avoid mass destruction. He was pretty sure they wouldn't be too destructive, but you could never be too sure...
They stopped walking, and were standing in a large, empty area with nothing but concrete ground. Roy looked at them.
"So, who's going first?" he asked. The girls exchanged nervous glances. They both looked like they could pass out at any moment from stress. Pulling herself together with a gulp of terror, Rei stepped forward.
"I'll go first, sir," she said meekly, a bead of sweat trickling down the side of her face. She heard Alora sigh in somewhat relief.
"Great! Let's see what you've got!" Roy said cheerfully, motioning for them to step back and give her some room to work with.
As Roy, Merrick and Alora watched eagerly for her to do something fantastic, Rei was busy thinking. What could she possibly do to impress them? Trying to think quicky on her feet, she pulled out her chalk and squatted, making sure her skirt wasn't revealing anything.
She began to scribble away, quickly forming her transmutation circle. Still not having a clear idea as to what she was making, she placed her hands on the circle. A great light shone from it, causing everyone to squint. They could hear concrete being moved within the light. When it subsided, they were all impressed, including Rei. She had transmuted what appeared to be a small totem pole, parts of the detail made from the concrete below their feet, some out of ice. Rei grinned, very proud of herself. She turned around to face them, ready for comments and critique.
"Very impressive for someone your age," Roy complimented, clapping. He moved his hand to his chin in a thinking position. "But tell me, where did you get the ice from?" he asked curiously. Rei smiled.
"Easy: all I did was take as much moisture from the ground underneath the concrete and freeze it. If there had been more, I would have tried to make the entire thing out of ice, but I had to substitute most of it with concrete." Roy nodded, again impressed.
"I see. Using other materials as substitutes, very nice. Exellent skill to have on the battlefield." he commented, walking up to the totem. He examined it closely. "Very fine detail, too."
"Thank you, sir."
"So, you're studying to specialize your alchemy, correct?" Rei nodded.
"Yeah. Obviously I'm trying ice right now." Roy grinned.
"Then I could probably help you with that portion of your training." he told her. Rei looked confused, and Roy grinned again. "I've specialized my own alchemic powers."
"Really?? To what?" Rei asked eagerly. Instead of a verbal reaponse, Roy snapped his fingers instead, igniting a spark of fire. He aimed this at Rei's totem, blowing it to smithereens. Caught off guard, Rei screamed and leapt about five feet backwards. Roy laughed.
"I'm sorry about that." he said. Rei's expression was a look of surprise and fear, but she laughed it off with an uneasy laugh. Roy lead her back to the others, who had also been taken by surprise by the colonel's unanounced display of alchemic ability, and turned to Alora.
"I believe it's your turn, Alora."

Alora found herself now wishing profusely that she had gone first; how on earth was she supposed to follow a performance like that? Unlike Rei, she had no intention of specializing her alchemy, and so found herself at a complete loss as to what she was going to do. Nonetheless, she walked out into the middle of the area, carefully stepping around the chunks of concrete.
Concrete and dirt, nothing else. At least, nothing else that the average person would see. Alora, being an alchemist, was not an average person. This dirt was filled with deposits of various metals and other minerals that would form alloys with said metals; this was by no means only dirt and concrete.
She knelt in the soft dirt, and began to draw a transmutation circle in it; it would be pointless to use the chalk. She took a deep breath, hoping that there would be enough metal for what she intended. Almost timidly, she touched her hands to the circle, and light engulfed her.
There was a lot of noise, was Alora's first impression. Noise and light. And flying concrete. She flung both hands over her head out of reflex, and squeezed her eyes closed. She had never attempted anything even near this scale before, and found herself to be entirely unprepared. It was only a few moments before the light and noise subsided, and Alora opened her eyes.
Before her stood an enormous array of metal. Nine orbs revolved around a larger one, all suspended above the ground by a network of metal poles. There had been many types of metal in the ground, and so each orb was a slightly different color. The entire display stood about twice as tall as herself. Despite its height, however, it was somewhat delicate; the orbs were all hollow. Not to mention, she had drained the entire parade area of all metal in its soil. She stood, dusting off her knees, and turned to face the others.
"Impressive," Roy said, certainly sounding impressed, "That's quite a lot of metal you got out of seemingly nowhere."
"It was in the soil," Alora explained, "I just drew it out." Roy nodded.
"You seem to be able to manipulate metals very easily; not all metals will bond together like this, but it seems you've done a fine job of making them stay put." He regarded her for a moment, "Have you ever considered specializing your alchemy?" Alora shook her head.
"No; I haven't really found my area of expertise yet." Roy nodded, though it seemed like his thoughts were elsewhere.
"You don't have to, you know; specializing your alchemy is a very complicated process. You almost have to have a teacher who knows what you're trying to do and how to do it."
"You mean you had a teacher?" Rei asked interestedly. Roy nodded.
"A long time ago, I did." He was staring off into the distance, "He didn't approve of my becoming a state alchemist, and I didn't learn many of the secrets of flame alchemy until after his death." The girls exchanged a puzzled glance.
"Then how did...?" Rei began, puzzled.
"That's a long story," He said, "Not to mention, I'm not about to risk telling you without the other party's consent." He checked his watch, "All right, that's it for today. I still have quite a bit of paperwork to complete if I'm going to be allowed to leave on time tonight." He turned to the two girls, "You can leave too - once you've cleaned up this mess." And with a grin and a wave, he departed, leaving the two girls standing there, gaping.
~
"That bastard," Rei muttered. They had been out here for the past two hours, trying to return the parade grounds to normal.
"Rei, don't say that!" Alora chided, "Someone had to clean this mess up, and he probably has a lot of work to do." Rei sighed.
"True. But he could have sent someone out to help us!"
"Hello, ladies!" Came a booming voice, as a very large, very muscular man walked over to them, "Colonel Mustang sent me out here to help you two clean up!"
"Um... who are you?" Alora asked. Suddenly the man's shirt disintegrated.
"I am Alex Louis Armstrong, the Strong Arm Alchemist!"

Merrick stood passively as the assessment rolled along. He couldn't hide his surprise at the ingenuity and resourcefulness both the girls had shown in their transmutations. Perhaps these two girls were more aspiring then they gave themselves credit for. And if they were talented in their works then that would look even better for his possible promotion. When the Colonel disappeared off to his impending mountain of paperwork Merrick stayed where he was and calculated an assessment of his own.
The two of them certainly were resourceful, intelligent to say the least and they had spirit, one of the most important qualities. They worked relatively without complaint, save for the few off hand remarks about the Colonel. Of course many people made off hand remarks about him. "The Colonel has a....unique personality, I’m sure you noticed." he said as he walked up with his arms folded across his chest. Running a ringer over one of the metal orbs that were still intact he grinned at the display.
"I guess what I'm saying is as long as you don’t call him a bastard to his face then people are usually lenient as far as punishment goes, if any goes that is.." As he finished he caught a large figure out of the corner of his eye. oh god its...
"I am Alex Louis Armstrong, the Strong Arm Alchemist!" The large figure presented himself as an unearthly sparkle radiated around him and his shirt disappeared. Running a hand over his face he grimaced. "Hello Major Armstrong, how are you today?" he said as he attempted to keep his eyes fixed on his face. Why couldn't this man just keep his clothes on? He wondered absently. "I am fine Major, jest helping these ladies clean up here." he said in his booming voice. "I heard you were close to that promotion, congratulations." he added as an afterthought.
"Yes I am, and these two fine girls might have pushed me past the line. I think Mustang was going to talk to Hakuro later on today." he said with a grin.

(OOC: Ohmaigawd it's ROYAI....)
Roy was, in fact, speaking to Hakuro, but not about Merrick's promotion. Hakuro had actually been the one to instigate the meeting, summoning Roy without warning.
"So," Hakuro said, "I received a visit from Second Lieutenant Havoc earlier today."
"Really?" Roy asked innocently.
"Really." Hakuro looked very serious; bad sign. "He asked me to bend the fraternization rules. And by 'bend' he meant 'shatter entirely'. And do you know why?" Without waiting for an answer, he continued, "He told me that the sexual tension between you and First Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye was very distracting." Roy hung his head.
"I'm very sorry about this, sir."
"Would you like to tell me what that was about?" This put Roy in a very interesting situation. He could tell Hakuro that it was all Havoc's idea, but Roy had given him full permission, and he didn't want to blame Havoc for something that was, in effect, all Roy's fault.
"Well, it's kind of a long story."
"We've got time." Roy sighed.
"Second Lieutenant Havoc told me about the -er- 'sexual tension' thing, and warned me about the fraternization rules. Then he said he was going to talk to you about it." Hakuro leaned forward slightly.
"That isn't the answer I'm looking for, colonel." Roy was very puzzled now.
"Sir?"
"Are you, in fact, infatuated with the First Lieutenant?" Roy considered this a moment. He wasn't entirely sure if this was a trick question or not. Also, he didn't know if what he was feeling would be described as 'infatuation'. A four-letter word floated around in his brain, but Roy firmly ignored it.
"Sir," He said, trying to figure out how to phrase this so he wouldn't get court-marshaled, "She is unlike any other woman I have ever associated with. She is possibly the most loyal of all my subordinates, and I think I would die to protect her." Now where did that come from? Roy wondered. Hakuro chucked.
"So 'infatuated' doesn't even begin to cover it?"
"No sir."
"Well, I don't know what to tell you. Rules are there for a reason, Colonel. They are to be adhered to, and not broken. Should I transfer the First Lieutenant, so you will be less...distracted?" Roy's eyes widened.
"No!" Hakuro raised his eyebrows. "I mean, no, sir. It won't be necessary. Nothing like this will ever happen again."
"I should say not." Hakuro said. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. "Enter." To Roy's immense surprise, Riza walked into the room, looking slightly intimidated.
"You wanted to see me, sir?" Hakuro nodded.
"Yes; The Colonel has just told me something very interesting."
Oh no. Roy thought, He wouldn't. Wait - this is Hakuro. He would. Roy began to panic slightly, and wondered how to best escape the situation. The window? No, they would catch him before he got out. Maybe he could pull the fire alarm. That would distract them long enough for him to run away. He looked around, but the fire alarm was just behind Hakuro. Damn. He would just have to get shot to death when Hakuro told Riza that Roy loved her.
Did he love her? That stupid four-letter-word again.
"What is it?" Riza asked, looking concerned, "Is something wrong?" Hakuro pulled out a small black box.
"Why don't you tell us?" It was a tape recorder. Hakuro set it on the desk, and pressed 'play'.
"Are you, in fact, infatuated with the First Lieutenant?"
"Sir, She is unlike any other woman I have ever associated with. She is possibly the most loyal of all my subordinates, and I think I would die to protect her."
"So 'infatuated' doesn't even begin to cover it?"
"No sir."
Hakuro pressed 'stop'. Riza was now staring at Roy with an extremely horrified expression on her face.
"Sir," She began, speaking to Hakuro, "He hasn't yet broken the fraternization rules. We haven't... fraternized. So he can't be court-marshaled." Hakuro grinned.
"Oh rest assured, First Lieutenant, he most assuredly will be. If you don't agree to go on a date with him." Riza stared. And stared, and frowned.
"Sir, this entire set-up is completely inappropriate." She scolded him, before turning to leave. She glanced at Roy, "But yes, Colonel, I would love to go out with you." And she left. Hakuro laughed.
"Lovely. Now, about Major Sorbate's promotion..." ~

(OOC: *uber fangirl sqwee* ooooooooohmaigaaaaaaaawd!! X333 *lmao* thats some funneh royai thur! yup, hit the spot, michi!)
Meanwhile....on the parade grounds...
Rei and Alora stood there, gaping at the large, half-naked man standing in front of them, flexing his very large muscles. A look of shock, and somewhat horror, was bestowed upon their faces. They didn't know wether to scream "Oh God my eyes!" or thank him for his help, for he had, in fact, managed to clean the remains of the mess by himself. Alora decided to be the more mature of the two.
"Um, th-thank you, Major Armstrong..." she told him with shakey words, bowing her head slightly. Rei quickly snapped out of her phase and also bowed her head.
"Yes, thank you so much!"
"Oh ho! It was my pleasure, ladies!" he said, snapping into another position to flex.
(OOC: dammit! this scene would be SO much easier to draw in comic-format!! >.< *insert shakefist emoticon here*)
The girls felt faint- in a sick way- as he did this. Fortunatelly, before either could pass out, a very happy Major Sorbate practically pranced up to them.
"So, looks like you're all done!" he said merrily when he reached them. The girls nodded.
"With the help of Major Armstrong, of course." Rei added through slightly clenched teeth. As if on cue, Armstrong switched positions again. Merrick chuckled at the girls' misfortune as he noticed the two of them grow more irritated by the second.
"Well, turns out I'll probably be getting that promotion soon!" he said with the same merry tone.
"Really? Congratulations!" Alora told him.
"Yeah, congrats, Major!" Merrick smiled broadly.
"But I couldn't have done it without the two of you!" he told them. "Which is why I'm taking you both out to dinner tonight!" Rei and Alora's faces lit up, forgetting all about the show-off major behind them. They turned to each other, giggling happily.
"Thank you so much!!" they thanked him.
"Now, I've made it so you two can stay in the military dorms for your training, until we find you better lodgings, so I'll pick you up there at seven o'clock. And I expect you to wear something nice. We are celebrating my promotion and the start of your training, after all." he instructed them. The girls looked worried about the last part, though.
"Dress...nicely?" Rei repeated. "But, I don't own anything nice..."
"Me neither..." Alora added. Merrick smiled.
"I thought of that. Which is why I asked Leiutenant Hawkeye to take you two shopping as soon as you get cleaned up! I'll see you around, ladies!" And with that, he bowed, turned, and walked back towards headquarters.
~
"He said what?" Riza asked the two girls standing before her. They nodded.
"Yeah, he told us you were going to take us shopping for something nice to wear for dinner tonight..." Alora told the older lady. Riza just stared at them, obviously not hearing a word of this agreement, which made Rei and Alora feel like fools.
"Well, he might have left a note on my desk while I was talking to General Hakuro..." she assumed. "But I'm afraid I won't be able to take you girls, I have other plans."
The girls' expressions dropped, now making Riza feel guilty.
"Though, I'm sure I can find someone else to take you." She put her finger to her chin, thinking. "Oh, I know! A friend of mine is in town, staying with the wife of the late Briggadier General Hughes. I'm sure she'd love to go with you!"
Rei and Alora exchanged smiles, happy their plans for tonight were still on. As they did so, Riza picked up the phone and called the Hughes residence. She waited until someone picked up.
"Hello, Gracia? It's Riza Hawkeye. Is Winry there?"

He chose to leave before Major Armstrong flexed too much and ripped his pants. The resulting thought of that was enough for Merrick to stop his walk and lean against the wall, feeling nauseous and mentally violated. Shaking his head to clear the thoughts he continued on his way. For once he was in a good enough mood not to be disappointed about the fact that he had a report to deliver.
Technically it wasn’t his report, but because of his lack of paperwork the higher-ups decided to make him a temporary messenger boy. Retrieving the file from his small office he continued on his high spirited walk around head quarters. Looking at the paper clipped note on top of the file it said: to be delivered to Colonel Mustang. He nodded his head slightly to himself, knowing that the Colonel had loads of files delivered to him everyday.
Knocking on the door of Mustangs office he announced himself. There was a pause and eventually he was called in. Walking through the door his pace slowed. Everything looked normal, Riza was sitting at her desk working tirelessly and the Colonel was sitting at his desk doing anything but work. But there was an odd feeling in the room, and he could feel the awkward silence gnawing at his mind. "Another file for you sir. I believe it's about Full-Metal. He had taken a small peak inside it. It fell on the floor and he had to pick it up, it wasn't his fault if it was open.
Those words had gotten his attention and he took the file with one of his signature sadistic smiles. The major backed away; still aware of the vast amounts of the feeling he had placed as sexual tension. As he walked out the door and closed it he broke a smile. "Fuery (That’s how you spell his name right?) owes me money..." he said in a sing-song voice as he walked happily down the corridor. Figuring he would put it off till it was certain, Merrick checked his watch and went back to his office. He had a couple hours to do some work before he had to start getting ready for his dinner plans. Today turned out pretty good. He thought to himself.

(OOC:Mwahahaha, I beat you all to the next post with my death threats and general rabies! And the power of ROYAI!) "Sure, I'd love to." Winry said, "But I have one question... what exactly are you doing tonight?" Riza blushed. She hadn't wanted to tell Winry. "I have a date," She explained to the younger girl, "A very important date, actually." "Oh?" Winry sounded slightly amused, "With whom? Anyone I know?" Well, there really was no getting out of it now unless she wanted to be rude. "Well, yes, I think you know him." Winry waited a moment. "And?" Riza sighed. "Colonel Mustang." Winry squealed triumphantly, and Riza hurriedly removed the phone from her ear. "I KNEW IT!" The younger girl cried, "How completely romantic! How did he ask you out? With flowers? A love note?" Riza related the story of what had happened in Hakuro's office. "And we were both in the office afterwards, and he asked me to go out to dinner with him tonight. It wasn't really terribly romantic, but we were at work." "He called you 'Lieutenant', didn't he?" Winry asked, sounding disappointed. "Well, yes, but we still have to remain a professional relationship." "Even if you are romantically involved?" Is that what we are now? Riza mused. "Oh well; I suppose it can't be helped. What time did the girls want to go shopping?" ~ "We're a little short on room at the moment, as it's recruiting season, so will you two be all right sharing a room?" Roy asked. Alora shook her head. "No. Actually I prefer sharing a room." Alora said, "That is, if Rei doesn't mind." Rei grinned broadly and shook her head. "Nope; It'll be fun!" Roy nodded. "In that case, here is the key - be careful not to lose it! - and you can go ahead and move in. Oh, and there are weekly inspections to make sure that you're keeping it clean. In your case, it will most likely be Lieutenant Hawkeye inspecting you, so I suggest that you keep it very clean. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get ready for a date." The two girls exchanged a look. "Colonel, sir," Rei began, "It's funny you should mention that..." "Because the First Lieutenant had plans tonight as well." Alora finished. Roy went slightly pink. "Purely coincidence." He said, before turning to leave. "Tell her we said hi!" Rei called after him. "Ok." Came the grudging reply. ~ Knock knock. "I'll get it," Alora said, standing up. She walked over to the door and opened it, to find herself face-to-face with a pretty blonde woman only a few years older than herself. "Oh, hello," She said, "You must be Winry. Thanks so much for coming with us; we're both new here, and don't know our way around." Winry grinned. "Oh, I don't mind at all! I love shopping! Are you two ready?" "Yup," Rei said, walking up, "All set. I'm Rei, by the way." "And I'm Alora." Winry nodded to each of them in turn. "Well, come on then; if you two are getting picked up at seven, then that doesn't leave us much time!" ~ They were all walking back to the military barracks, Alora and Rei clutching boxes with dresses and shoes, when out of nowhere came a blond young man (he looked to be about Winry's age) and a large suit of armor. Alora and Rei exchanged puzzled glances, while Winry grinned happily. "Ed! Al! What are you doing here?" The blond boy - Ed - grinned, almost guiltily. "Well, we went to Resembool, but Granny said you were in Central. So we came to see you!" Winry eyed them with slight suspicion. "Really? Just to see me?" Ed laughed nervously. "Well you see... I kind of got in a fight, and... I may have accidentally broken your automail..." "YOU DID WHAT!!!" She somehow acquired a wrench, and the brutal beating that proceeded was enough to thoroughly convince Rei and Alora that they should always stay on Winry's good side. "Brother!" The suit of armor exclaimed, rushing to his fallen sibling's side, "Say something!" "......ouch...." But Winry wasn't finished yet. "YOU ONLY EVER COME TO SEE ME WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING, DON'T YOU?? NEVER JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO SAY HI, OR BECAUSE YOU MISSED ME!!!" And with that, she whirled around and started to stalk back down the street. She paused, and turned to Rei and Alora, who jumped. "I'm sorry you had to see that. I had a great time shopping with you two; we'll have to do it again sometime!" The other two girls gave weak node of assent, and with a smile and a wave, Winry disappeared behind the street corner. Rei walked up and prodded Ed with her toe. "Is he... alive?" She asked. "I wish I wasn't...." Ed groaned. "He'll be fine." The armored man - Al - said. "Winry can just be a little ...violent...sometimes." "Just a bit." Alora agreed, surveying the damage. "Her and that damn wrench..." Ed said, pushing himself to his feet, "Why the hell do I keep buying them for her?" Rei and Alora exchanged confused glances. "Are you her boyfriend, then?" Rei ventured. Ed turned an alarming shade of pink. "No! Of course not!" He sputtered defensively, "We're just friends! Like family!" He looked at them, "Hey, who are you two, anyway?" "I'm Alora," "And I'm Rei." "Edward Elric." He said, extending his left hand for them to shake, which each did in turn, "And this is my little brother Alphonse." "Little brother?" Rei said doubtfully, "But -" "Don't. Say it." ~ (OOC: NOTE TO WHOEVER'S POSTING NEXT: If you end up writing the restaurant bit, Roy and Riza shall inadvertently be in the same place as the rest. Mwahaha.)

(OCC: Thanks guys, you killed my poor little Kai. And don't worry, Crackasaurus, I wont attempt Royai...)
Kai followed Havoc around central all day, helping him deliver papers and such, until he realized he had completely lost track of the people he was supposed to be with.
Kai walked into Havoc's office after delivering the last folder. "Uhhh... Lieutenant Havoc?"
"Yes, Kai?"
"Well, I think I need to go look for Merrick and the girls," said Kai.
"Oh, well go ahead then! You've been a huge help today... I'll put a good word in for you to the Major," replied Havoc.
"Thank you, sir!" Kai said as he left the office. At least there was SOMEONE around here that could trust him.
But why was he going to go look for all of them anyways? The only excuse he could come up with in his mind was the he really had no where else to go... and with these people he could at least get free food and a warm shelter. He wouldn't have to be a wandering theif anymore.
He knew Merrick and the girls wouldnt be inside Central, for he had been around the whole place at least 5 times in the last 2 hours, and he hadnt seen any of them.
He stepped out of Central when he suddenly got tackled by Teddy, knocking him onto his back.
"Oh, hey boy! I'm sorry you had to wait for so long! Help me look for Merrick or those two other girls." Kai said as he sat up.
Kai suddenly realized there was something in Teddy's mouth. It was a long cloth that appeared to be an apron or something of the sort.
Then, something Kai would never expect happened. A man in an enormous suit of armor walked up to him.
"Is that your dog?" said the suit of armor. It was a small boy's voice which Kai thought was strange.
"Er... yes... but I just stepped outside... and is this yours?" Kai said holding up the soggy cloth.
"Yes, it's my... uh... loincloth," said the armored boy.
"Sorry about that... Teddy has a habit of... stealing," both boys were obviously embarassed.
"Anyways nice to meet you. I'm Kai," he said holding out his hand.
"I'm Al," said the armored boy as he tied the cloth around his waste.
(OCC: Al and Kai MUST be friends! :3 And can you guys please incorporate him so he's at least a main character of the story? Kthanx, <3)

(OOC: Well, in order for your character to be included, you have to post periodically, or he will get left behind. It's not our character, after all. And thanks for leaving my Royai alone!)
Riza Hawkeye paced her apartment nervously. She didn't like this feeling. Nerves were not something she was accustomed to; she needed to be in control. Nonetheless, here she was, sweating over a man like all the other idiot girls Roy Mustang dated.
Because she was, after all, waiting for Roy Mustang.
She checked the clock; It was five to seven. He should be here any time. She forced herself to stop pacing and sit down on the sofa.
She was positive by now that she wasn't just another girl Roy Mustang dated, or else she wouldn't be sitting here waiting for him right now. True, she had been very skeptical when he had first asked her out. Had he finally dated every other woman in Central? Had he lost a bet, maybe?
A simple question -"Would you like to go out to dinner tonight?" It had actually been her first clue that he regarded her differently. She had seen him around other women plenty of times - enough to know his style of flirting. This...this wasn't flirting. This was a straightforward question. She had glanced up then, and met his eyes, and inexplicably, her stomach had done backflips. It was a simple question, and she had given him a simple answer. "Yes".
She checked the clock again - seven o' clock.
Knock knock.
Amazing. For once in his life, Roy Mustang was on time. She stood and opened the door, and found herself looking at him. He was dressed very nicely - a hint that they were going someplace fancy. Luckily she had dressed up as well, and now knew she wouldn't be out of place in the restaurant. To her surprise, he handed her a bouquet of roses.
Red ones.
Now, Riza wasn't much one for symbolism and superstition, but she had always subconsciously associated red roses with 'love'. Needless to say, she was a little taken aback when a bouquet of said flowers was handed to her by her commanding officer. Love, maybe? Or maybe he just thought they looked nice. Maybe the flower-shop girl recommended them. Maybe he always brought girls red roses.
"Thank you," She said softly, "They're beautiful."
"So are you," He replied smoothly, and she blushed. She hid it by turning and placing the flowers on her kitchen table; she didn't need to put them in water just yet.
"Again, thank you." She said. She bit her lip, and looked up at him. She had drawn conclusions, yes, but she needed to make sure they were the right ones. "Before this goes any farther," She said, "I need to know - is it going to be only tonight? Will I be another of your famous one-night stands?" He sighed.
"I thought you'd ask me that." He said, "Riza, you heard what Hakuro recorded." He smirked, "And I thought you'd figure it out by what kind of flower I gave you." Her heart stopped. Plain and simple.
"Red roses?" There was that four-letter word again. He nodded.
"It's too soon to just say it, though. I hope you understand." So he didn't want to rush things. Now it made sense. The roses were a way to express how he felt without scaring either of them away.
"I understand perfectly s-Roy." She said. He grinned and held out his arm for her to take, which she did.
"Good. Now we'd better get going or we'll be late for the reservation."
She shut and locked the door behind them, and they walked out to his car. It was looking to be quite a lovely evening. The sky was still tinged with pink from the sunset, and there were one or two stars winking at them from overhead. To her surprise, Roy opened the passenger door for her, before walking around to the driver's seat. Riza had a sudden flash of panic at the thought of him driving, but forced it down.
"So where are we going?" She asked, once he had gotten into the car.
"Oh, that's a surprise." He said, "But I'm positive you'll like it." They drove in silence for a few minutes, before Riza remembered something.
"Is it just me," She said, "Or were quite a few people around the office exchanging money today? It's almost as if they were..."
"Betting on something?" He finished for her, "Yeah, they were." She groaned.
"Oh no, don't tell me..."
"Yup," He said cheerfully, "Us."
"So everyone knows?"
"Considering Hakuro stood on the roof and announced it through a megaphone during lunch, I'd say yeah." He chuckled, "It was quite funny to see the expressions on everyone's faces." Riza stared.
"He did what?! Where was I?"
"On the phone. And we didn't tell you because no one wanted to get shot. In case you hadn't noticed, everyone's terrified of you." She had. It was to her advantage, actually.
"Are you?"
"You don't have a gun on you, do you?"
"No."
"Then no. We're here, by the way." And he pulled into the parking lot of one of the largest, most ornamented buildings Riza had ever seen. There were really going here? Men took their girlfriends here to propose to them, not on a first date! So much for not rushing... "Nice isn't it?" Roy asked, as Riza continues to gape.
"It-it's very nice." She said, "And exactly how expensive?"
"Let me worry about the bill; you just worry about having a good time." She nodded. He got out of the car, walked around to the other side, and opened her door for her. She smiled and thanked him, but secretly believed that he was being silly - she was able to open car doors after all. Ah well - he was probably used to dating utter bimbos who didn't know how. When they reached the front, the host bowed to Roy.
"Hello Mr. Mustang - I haven't seen you in months! What happened, did you run out of women?" Riza frowned and the man jumped. "No offense to you of course, madam."
"No, I just stopped dating for awhile. I've gone monogamous, Rick." The man gasped.
"No!" Roy nodded.
"Yes; it's true." The man held his hand out to Riza, and she shook it.
"Well then Miss, you must be very, very special indeed, to be able to tame this wild Mustang." Now it was Roy's turn to frown.
"Ok Rick, enough with the name jokes - can you show us to our table?" Rick bowed, and led them into the building. Riza was still frowning. He had taken other women here. So that meant that she wasn't all that different from them after all. She relaxed a little, remembering the roses. That's right; the four-letter word. She glanced at Roy, who was still chatting with Rick; maybe, sometime tonight, one of them would get the courage to finally say it.

(OOC: Yeah Crackasaurus, I suppose ye do tienes un point.)
"So have you seen two girls anywhere? They're both alchemists-in-training, they both have red hair, and I can't find them anywhere," Kai asked Al.
"Yes, me and my brother ran into them about 15 minutes ago. They said they were heading to their dorms," replied Al.
Their dorms? thought Kai. Why do THEY get to have rooms? "Uh thanks for your help, and sorry about your... uh... loincloth," said Kai to Al walking away.
"No problem," replied Al, walking into central.
Kai walked to the building seperated from central that were the dorms. Kai knew because he had to look at the directory of the area at least 15 times that day.
Kai had just stepped into the lobby when someone familiar walked up behind him- Major Merrick.
"Oh, hello there Kai," said the Major. "Did you help out Havoc all day?"
"Yes sir, we got a lot done," Kai replied.
"Good... well I'm taking the girls out to dinner... but I want you to stay here. It's a very expensive restaurant and I don't know if my wallet could handle it. I arranged for you to have a dorm of your own right next to the girls', but you have to clean both of them. Understood?"
"Yes, sir," Kai said obediently.
"Good," said Merrick. He lead Kai up to the 4th floor hallway and pointed to an open door. "Here is where you will be staying while you help them with their training. We'll see you when we return tonight."
Kai went into the dorm, closing the door behind him. He was disappointed he wouldn't be able to go to dinner, but he was still happy. This was the closest thing to home he had ever had.

((This thread still needs a title BTW and major conflict. Gotta hate teh happiness. Anywho, all ya'll need to get your butts into the Character Bios board and post about your characters. The point of roleplaying is to write from your character's point of view, but that doesnt mean the character has to be a complete mystery to the rest of us. Through Character Bios, we can come to understand a little more about the character without going into sob stories--as many newbie threads tend to do (my 1st being one of them). ))
Gale had been working all evening trying to perfect Lieutenant Hawkeye's pistol while she was away. But each modification brought the firearm one step closer to backfiring on the lieutenant.
She rubbed her hands together to rid herself of all the chalk powder, but was unsuccesful. This was going nowhere, she needed a break, NOW. Walking out into the hallway, she noticed a boy and his dog enter a dorm room. The young man seemed rather excited and when he closed the door, he accidentally locked the dog out. The unsuspecting dog ran face first into the door and gave a yelp of surprise. Gale chuckled at this and crouched down to pet the poor fellow.
Since she was already here, she decided to help the poor pooch out and let his master know that he was out here.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Lust left the train and the group of new recruits that she had been watching rather closely. None of them gave off any threatening vibes so there was no point in hanging around. She walked out of Central Station and into the town, searching for the right factory. When she got there, she noticed that the garage door was not open. The side door was locked as well. Her friends were being unusally careful. She extended a long sharp fingernail into the keyhole and snapped the little mechanism inside of the door.
Gluttony and Envy jumped upon her entering, as if expecting someone else. The two were huddled around a man she had never seen before. His bloodied face told her that Envy had not been patient. As was usual, Gluttony whined about how he had not had anything to eat for the last two minutes and wanted to taste their hostage. He smiled at Lust though as she entered, knowing that she was not as blood thirsty as Envy and would not mind him taking a couple bites out of the man.
The train ride had been a rather boring one, and Lust had actually picked up a newspaper in attempt to pass the time. She remembered this man's face now. He had been filed in a missing persons case just a couple days ago. The article had also mentioned that he was an alchemist. She noted the fact that his wrists were tied far away from each other. The name of this man hadn't been very important to Lust at the time so she struggled now to remember it.
Matias Sawyer, the Equilibrium Alchemist. That was his name. This man studied life itself. And death of course. You couldn't have one without the other, hence his military code name. He would indeed be a powerful asset to their cause. Lust, Gluttony and Envy contradicted everything this man studied and because of that they needed him to find a way to reverse it. The life of a homunculi was an empty one and if this man could find a way to turn them mortal...
(OOC: Me and Bilay have made a sacred pact... ALL SHALL PH34R THE POWER OF NEGLECTED CHARACTERS' FRIENDSHIP!)
Kai had just gone down to the lobby to buy 2 sodas (he was planning on drinking the other one later) with Teddy at his side. He had just closed the door behind him as he stepped into his new dorm, but he realized he must've closed Teddy out as he no longer felt the soft brush of fur against his leg.
Apparently, Teddy wasn't the only thing outside his door.
As he opened the door quickly, he accidentallyknocked a woman (who looked about in her 20's) in the head, for she was kneeling down next to Teddy, and she fell over with a yelp of suprise.
"OH MY GOD!" Kai yelled. He was suprised as she was. He rushed over to help her off her feet and asked "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine, I had just noticed you locked your dog outside the door... I was just about to knock and tell you..." she mumbled.
"Here, come in and have a soda! I'm really sorry about this," Kai apologized again as he led the woman into his dorm and passed her his spare soda.
"It's fine... I've pretty much become used to head injuries... just the other day a State Alchemist's watch flew out of nowhere and conked me on the head... it belonged to a Major here at central..." she explained taking sips of the soda. It happened to be her favorite flavor.
"Oh, Major Merricks?" Kai said without thinking.
"How did you know?"
"Uh oh... it looks like I have some more apologizing to do..."
So he was the reason behind the watch. If Gale hadn't been done with the pistol at her side, she might have considered using it. But then, he was only 16. His offense didn't necessarily merit a bullet to the head...or did it? Maybe just his toe then.
She chuckled at her own sadistic thoughts and pressed the cold soda can to her forehead. He seemed too innocent for any of that. Gale decided to let him go this time.
"I'm Gale Harrison by the way," she said, shaking Kai's hand. "The Harquebus Alchemist... long word I know. I design weapons."
Kai introduced himself and reluctantly replied that he cleaned rooms.
Teddy came back into the room and begged for attention. Gale scratched him under the chin to quiet the whining mutt.
"So did you and your friends make it through training ok?" It had taken her awhile, but she finally remembered seeing this boy with two girls and Major Merrick. She had to assume that all three of them were being recruited.
((OOC: *mumble**grumble* darn you people… I needed to post after Michi! >.< Oh well. I’ll just…keep going…))
-20 minutes earlier…-
"So, where's Mustang? I need to talk to him." Ed said as he began walking towards headquarters. He wiped a small trail of blood from his forehead. Surprisingly, he didn't look at all in pain.
He must meet face-to-face with that wrench a lot... was Alora's conclusion.
"He's not here. He went on a date with Lieutenant Hawkeye!" Rei told him. This comment made Ed and Al stop dead in their tracks.
"A date, huh?" Al said, snickering. Instead of commenting, Ed threw his fists into the air and grinned happily.
"YES!!" he shouted triumphantly. "First time I come to HQ and I don't have to meet with that sadistic bastard!"
"Brother, you shouldn't say things like that about the Colonel. He is your boss, after all." Al scolded. Ed seemed to pay no mind, for he continued towards the large building, all the while singing about how he didn't have to meet with Roy.
~
Alora found herself standing in front of the full-length mirror in the bathroom of the dorm she shared with Rei. She was wearing the purple floor-length dress Winry had helped her pick out for dinner tonight. She turned slightly, to get a better view of the backside. It was a beautiful dress, with thin straps, and formed perfectly around her body until meeting her hips, where it hung lightly like a skirt. (OOC: omg, I cannot describe dresses >.< tell me if you want this changed, Michi.) She sighed, feeling very over-dressed for just dinner. But her thoughts were interrupted by an angry screech coming from the living room. It was Rei.
"Rei, what's-....wrong?" Alroa asked, peeking out of the bathroom. But to her surprise, Rei was no longer in the room. She had stormed out. Sighing again, she went after her.
~
For some reason, the Central break room was over-crowded today, which left little options for Winry to repair Ed’s auto-mail. Fortunately Roy’s subordinates were still working, and offered to let her use Roy’s office.
After setting up her work area on one of the spare desks, she began her repairs, all the while the subordinates watching in amazement. This seemed to irritate Ed, who was used to it being only him and Winry when she made repairs. He had some things he wanted to tell her, anyway. Of course, every time he went to complain about the curious subordinates, Winry would beat him in the head with her wrench and tell him to be nice, they were kind enough to let them use Roy’s office. Ed mumbled to himself, and stopped complaining.
Winry was near done with her repairs, when the door to the office swung violently open, causing everyone to jump. It was Rei, all dressed up in her evening dress, and she looked desperate.
“Winry! There you are!” she said, sounding relieved. She hurried over to her.
“What is it, Rei? Don’t you need to be getting ready for dinner?”
“I know, I know, but my dress-“ Winry noticed Rei was holding it in the back, and she let go. “it poofs out and makes me look pregnant!” she cried. Winry immediately stopped what she was doing (which made Ed angry), and rushed over to see what she would do.
“Didn’t you notice this when you tried it on at the store?” she asked, examining the back of the dress.
“No…” Re replied. Winry sighed, thinking. When she seemed to have thought of an idea, she stood up and took Rei’s hand, leading her out the door.
“Come on, I have some ribbon in my suitcase in Ed’s dorm. We can use it to tie the dress back.” With that, they were out the door, and Ed was furious.
“HEY!! What about my auto-mail??” he screamed after them.
~
“There, that outta do it.” Winry said, after tying a beautiful bow on the back of Rei’s dress. Rei was very happy, and proceeded to thank the other girl.
“Thank you so much!”
“Oh, don’t mention it. But I will need that ribbon back.”
“No problem!” After telling her to have fun at dinner, Winry went back to Roy’s office, and Rei went back to the dorm she shared with Alora. To her surprise, when she got there, Merrick and Alora were sitting there, waiting for her.
“There you are!” Alora said, standing up when Rei walked in. “Where were you?”
“Heh, sorry for taking off… My dress wasn’t fitting right, so I went to Winry for help. Are you guys ready to go?” They nodded, and they left.
((OOC: and now I make Erbis write the dinner bit, cuz Michi is too busy obsessing over her precious Royai.)) Michi: No one touches the Royai....and lives. Chad: Only ho-bags write in blue.
When Merrick had first arrived at the dorms he thought the three of them would be off smoothly. Such was not the case as one of the girls had disappeared entirely and showed no sign of returning. Checking his watch it was fifteen after. The door to the dorms opened and the missing person suddenly wasn't missing anymore.
As they were walking to get the car the major spoke. "I should have you two know that you two look very stunning tonight. The two of you will make two boys very lucky some day." he gave them both warm smiles then and opened the door to the car for them.
After closing them in he walked around to his seat and started the vehicle. It wasn't a very far drive, so they didn't have much time to get into a deep conversation. That and Merrick was slightly speeding to try and make the reservation he had called in earlier . Leading the young women into the fancy restaurant they were greeted by the same man as the Colonel had bee. "Good evening sir. Do you have a reservation?" he asked in a polite tone. "Yes," he read the nametag pinned to the vest of the greeters suit "Rick, It's Major Sorbate." he said as he pointed at his name on the list.
"So it is, and who is your company, you seem to be one man short." The Major looked back at the two girls then felt his face tinge a slight red. "God, they are young enough to be my daughters, it's a celebration not a date. These two are my very gifted alchemists-in-training." he said, flustered by the assumption.
"My pardons sir, this way. And congratulations." Rick said with a smile as he waived them to a table. "Thank you." the major said as they took their respective seats and opened the menu. "I ask that you two ignore the prices, don't worry about it. Get whatever you two want it's all on me. Enjoy yourselves." he said with an exaggerated wink. Unknown at the moment to the major or the girls, Mustang and Riza sat at a table not so far away.
(OOC: No one shall TOUCH the Royai, or they will be disemboweled. Horribly. With a RUSTY SPOON THAT SALAD FINGERS HAS MOLESTED!!!AAAAHHHHHH!!!)
"So why exactly did you bring me here tonight, Roy?" Riza asked interestedly, "I mean, it's such a nice place, and this is only our first date..." Roy fidgeted and twirled his wine glass around.
"Well, I wanted to impress you." She cocked an eyebrow.
"What with your money? Or long list of girlfriends?" He sighed.
"Ok, so I wanted to impress upon you that I - care about you, Riza. I wanted our first date to be perfect." He chuckled, "Though I have no clue what I'll do for our second, since this is the best place in t- Oh my god!" Riza peered at him curiously before she realized that he was staring at something over her shoulder. She turned, and spotted Merrick, Alora, and Rei seated at a table across the restaurant.
"Oh no." She said, quickly turning back to face Roy. "Though thanks to Hakuro, they already know everything, don't they?"
"Everyone knows. Everyone. People who don't even know us know, and Hakuro keeps shouting about it. "
"So...should we go and say hi?" Riza ventured. Roy thou gt a moment.
"Naah; not now. Maybe on our way out." Roy hesitated. The thought of leaving raised another question to his mind - would he simply take her home, walk her to her front door, and bid her goodnight? He never usually did that on dates. He would always extend an invitation to come back to his place for some coffee 'or something', the 'or something' usually being sex. He regarded Riza carefully across the table. No, he didn't think so. She was not a one-night stand.
L - O - V -
Roy cut his mind off before it could finish that thought. The first date was way too soon for that word.
Although to be perfectly honest, that word had probably been applicable to his feelings about her for quite some time now.
~
It was almost uncomfortably silent for a while. They had all ordered and were waiting for their food to arrive. They had exhausted every small-talk topic known to man a long time ago. Alora twisted her napkin in her lap and cast around for something to talk about. Fortunately Rei rescued them from the silence with some gossip.
"So, Major Sorbate, did you know that Colonel Mustang and Lieutenant Hawkeye are going on a date?" This was the perfect topic to get all of them to loosen up.
"Of course," he said, "Everyone does, for their own safety; Hakuro's been around asking people if they know, and if they don't he beats them with blunt objects while screaming 'royai', whatever that means."
"I heard him screaming it from the rooftops," Alora put in. Merrick chuckled.
"You know, that reminds me of this time, a few years back..."
~
"...And you should have seen the look on Edward's face when a stripper came out of the cake!" The two girls were both clutching their stomachs, and barely able to breathe for laughing.
"Oh my god!" Rei gasped, "And Mustang got away with this? In the office?" Merrick nodded.
"Yeah, amazingly enough. The whole thing was bloody hilarious too; the stripper took one look at Ed and said she wasn't going to -er- perform with children in the room. Well, she left pretty quickly after that." Rei and Alora burst out laughing again.
Merrick had been relating the very interesting story of Ed's twenty-first birthday party. They were actually nearing the end of their outing; in front of the two girls sat a plate that had once held an impossibly large slice of chocolate cheesecake. Merrick was still in shock that two relatively small girls could devour something like that in under a minute. It had truly been an eye-opening experience. He looked up when a couple walked past, and stopped at their table.
"Hello Major Sorbate." It was Roy, looking very official in a fancy suit, with a gorgeous woman on his arm. Merrick did a double-take. Was that Hawkeye? It had to be, but it was very surprising that the no-nonsense, icy First Lieutenant would look so... feminine. The girls stopped giggling, and looked up at their superior officers.
"First Lieutenant, you look amazing!" Alora said, and meant it. Rei nodded in consent. Riza smiled.
"Thank you. And I see that Winry did an excellent job with you two- those dresses are gorgeous." She winked, "And the girls wearing them aren't bad either." Roy nodded.
"I agree. Now Major Sorbate, I know they're beautiful, but they are strictly off-limits; that would be fraternization." Merrick gave Roy a disgusted look.
"They're young enough to be my daughters! Why do people see me and think 'scumbag'?" He said loudly, "And with all due respect sir, you have no right to talk about fraternization." Roy raised an eyebrow.
"Well, Hakuro didn't seem to mind much. I'll see you three tomorrow." Riza waved good-bye, and the two departed. Merrick watched pensively.
"I would give vast sums of money to know what is going on in Roy's head right now." He said, thinking out loud. Rei made a face.
"I wouldn't." She said, "The Colonel is a very nice man, but he's kind of a pervert, isn't he?"
"Not tonight." Alora pointed out. "He wouldn't dare."
"Good point." Rei agreed. Merrick finished paying the bill and stood.
"I'd better get you two back to your room - you're bound to have a busy day tomorrow." They stood, and Alora yawned; she was tired, actually. A good night's sleep sounded very good right about now.
"Ok," Rei said, "But can we stop for ice cream on the way there?" Alora nodded, and Merrick stared incredulously.
"Ice cream? But you just ate enough sugar to send you into a coma!"
"Please?" The girls said in unison. Merrick threw his hands up in defeat.
"All right, all right. But if you can't sleep, don't you dare blame me!"
~
Like any perfect gentleman would do, Roy opened the door for Riza and walked with her to her front door. It felt as though he had quite a few butterflies in his stomach. They stopped just in front of the door, and Riza turned to face him.
"Thank you, Roy, for a wonderful evening." She said, "If this is how you treat all of your girlfriends, then it's no wonder you're so popular with women." He decided not to mention that he generally ended up spending the night with his other girlfriends. He smiled.
"I try to treat them nicely, if that's what you mean. But...they're not you. I finally figured that out a few months ago. It's why I haven't dated since then." She looked at him.
"What exactly are you saying?"
"I'm saying that no matter how many women I dated, I never found what I was looking for." So this is it, then. You're finally going to tell her. "Then I realized that what I was looking for was about five foot six, blonde, and quite trigger-happy." Now she looked even more confused.
"I still don't understand."
"I love you." She stared. Well, there was no turning back now that the four-letter word was out in the open, so Roy leaned down and gently pressed his lips to hers.
He meant for it to be just a chaste good-night kiss; really he did. But what he intended and what he got turned out to be two different things entirely. Before he knew it, they were tangled in each other's arms, gasping for breath, flushed. She looked up at him and smiled slightly, before untangling herself.
"Would you like to come inside for some coffee or something?" She asked, unlocking the door. Roy smiled broadly.
"Well, I think maybe that would depend on the 'or something'." He said suggestively.
"Well, I have tea as well." His smile broadened; always no-nonsense, his lieutenant. He stepped forward and kissed her again.
"Tea would be just lovely."
(OOC: Ooer. Well, I think this may just be the longest post in the history of forever. Sorry about all the Royai. And sex. It's just that Riza's kitchen table happened to be made of mahogany and...well...
I apologize, world, for this obscenely long post of death. I probably deserve to be shot.)
(OOC: *touches royai*)
(OOC. ish - Chad found himself suddenly standing outside of a house, being stared at by a very enraged looking Roy and Riza. Riza took the safety off her sun, and pointed it at him.
"So, you want to poke the Royai, do you?" She hissed menacingly. Chad gaped.
"Ohmygod, she was right when she said I would die if I toutched it...." He said, becking up. Riza laughed.
"Oh, you're not going to die..." She said, as she lowered her gun. "You're simply going to get maimed."
"WHAT?!" Suddenly a fluffy white object jumped down from the rooftops. Chad felt a chill deep in his bones. Something about this situation was disturbingly familiar....
"Garbleshorke?" The fluffy white object said to Riza, who smiled coldly and nodded. Chad screamed in terror; he realized now what the white object was.
A bunny. A fluffy white bunny. With red eyes.
Horrible memories of junior high came flashing back to him in an instant. The Plot Bunny...oh god...what had he done.... But, miracle of miracles, it turned and walked away. He heard a voice from behind him.
"I'll spare you this time." Michelle said, stepping out of the shadows, "But be forewarned; next time, it's plot bunny time. You do not. touch. the royai." Chad nodded emphatically.
"I thought Riza was going to have him kill me..." He said. Michelle laughed.
"Don't be silly - only I can control the plot bunny."
(OOC: Mich, I really liked the way you wrote that last post. (OOC: ^Desperate attempt to stay alive after prodding the Royai. But thanks anyhow.)Coincidentally, one of the people that Gale designed guns for had gone out tonight as well. "Well it looks like we were both left behind then," Kai pointed out. "Yes," agreed Gale, taking a final sip of the soda. "I have to get going... I'm not done testing out a new gun I'm working on." "Alright, it was nice bumping into you," Kai said as they stood up. "Yeah, almost too literally." They laughed together, shook hands, and she walked out of the door saying goodbye to Teddy. ~ Kai had just dozed off when he heard footsteps coming from the hallway. He got up and peeked out the door- Merrick and the girls had returned. (OOC: Reallllly sorry about the shortness but I'm short on time >_<)
