As they walked through the doors Megan gave Gwyn's hand a squeeze and the look on her face showed she was worried, she was not alone because Gwyn wasn't so sure of his ability to do this right. Megan saw Andi in her bed and immediately went to her room. Adrian was at Amanda’s side and before Gwyn could even say hi to him the Professor had Matron take him several beds away. Gwyn was quickly called to task by the Professor.
“Come along my boy there will be time for pleasantries once we’re done our tasks.” Dumbledore walk directly to Amanda’s bed side and lifted the covers at the foot end of her bed revealing her feet.
“Here we are Gwyddion. Now take your time and make certain you’ve seen all you need to, I will get Matron to assist us in revealing Amanda’s stomach.” Dumbledore turned and called Matron to the bedside. Gwyddion’s hands were shaking almost as much as his knees. I shouldn’t be doing this. He said to himself. There are at least a dozen teachers here surely one of them can do this. For god sake I’m only in my fourth year. He looked up at Amanda and stared at her for a minute before looking at the marks on her feet. He compared what he saw to the descriptions’ in the letter.
The Professor returned with the Matron and while Gwyn turned away they revealed Amanda’s stomach and her bare arms were there for him to see. He wasn’t sure he could do this and he looked up at the Professor who simply smiled at him and nodded, whatever that meant it didn’t make Gwyn feel any better about his task. He went back and forth comparing the written descriptions to what he saw but the hand written script and the Old Bulgarian language made the task much more difficult than he could have ever imagined. When he finally reached a decision he took it to the Professor, hoping for a confirmation which would have made him feel a lot more confident, if he had have gotten one.
First glance at Charlie’s large wound made Gwyn gasp and take two steps back. It was raw and still trickled blood, the charred flesh was gone but white pustules had formed around the wound and the smell was appalling. Gwyn looked away. “No Gwyddion! You must see every detail. Put who it is, and what it is out of your mind. Concentrate on what you see and what you must do.” “NO! There’s got to be someone in this school can do this better than me. You can get someone here by Floo powder or by Apparition who can read this by morning; someone from St. Mungo’s or the ministry. I’m not ready for something like this... I could kill them and maybe us too.” Gwyn was tired and scared and at the end of his wits.
“Oh yes I could get someone else to do this.” Dumbledore said kindly. “But then word of the book would get out, and do you really think that we would be allowed to destroy it then? How long will it take someone to analyse the book, test the theory and then the spells. We don’t have time for that Gwyddion; we may have very little time left. I can’t say for certain what time we have left but surely not a month, maybe a week, a day or an hour, we have no idea. All of the healers and wizard I can think of have been called and none of them knew what we were up against, we are all there is. I can’t read that letter well enough but you can. We are fortunate that Durmstrang still studies the old languages, but they are the last to do so. We have no one else and no time Gwyddion. I can protect both of us well enough but you must read the counter curses.”
Gwyn leaned against a chair for a few minutes and ground his teeth. He looked around but Megan was with Andi and Dumbledore had told the Matron to stand well away with Adrian. Gwyn was angry and pushed hard on the chair causing it to tumble over and skitter across the floor. The world of dark magic he left now forced itself upon him and left him with no choice.
“I’ve got no choice do I?” Gwyn asks already knowing the answer.
“No... none.” Dumbledore replies.
“Let’s get this done then.” Gwyn turns and looks closely at Charlie’s wound comparing it to the descriptions’ in the letter. After ten minutes he is satisfied with his choice. The counter curse is not that complicated and he thinks he can manage it. He starts to read over the words to make sure he pronounces each one just right. The pressure he feels is almost overwhelming. “Ok I’m ready to try. How will we know if I was right?” He asked the Professor.
“Well the spell will be absorbed by the wound and there will be a change of some sort. Beyond that Matron will be able to work with the wound immediately. By morning I think Charles will be talking to his family. Now focus Gwyn and run through the spell slowly and clearly. Clear your mind of everything before you start. I will be here should something unexpected occur but that will be my concern, not yours. Whenever you’re ready.”
Gwyn held out his wand and read the counter curse out clearly and much louder than he needed to. A deep purple bolt of light came from his wand and covered the area around Charlie’s wound. Gwyn waited for something dramatic but nothing happened except that the pustules had opened and started spilling their whitish smelly contents. Matron came over and was pleased with the results. She immediately began to drain away the fluid with her wand and was able to begin to repair the damage and close the wound. Several beds away lay Amanda oblivious to what had just taken place.
Gwyn sighed heavily and closed his eyes. He was tired and wet with sweat but Charlie would make it.
“Congratulations are in order I think.” Dumbledore said placing his hand on Gwyn’s shoulder. That is the first time those words have been spoken in a millennia. Well then one more task before us... shall we?”
They went and stood by Amanda’s bed. Gwyn took a couple of minutes to go through the wording of the spell he’d chosen. This spell was much more involved and as spells go it was long. Some of the words Gwyn was unfamiliar with; they were likely phrases he would have dealt with in his senior years at Durmstrang. Dumbledore was anxious to do the second spell, the success with Charlie wound had buoyed him but not Gwyn; he figured it was luck.
With Dumbledore right behind him Gwyn pointed his wand and began saying the words. Everything went well. The purple stream of light bathed all around Amanda but on the second last word something went very wrong. Purple bolts of light arced from Gwyn’s wand and shattered lamps. Dumbledore’s voice boomed behind Gwyn and it the same instance they seemed to be surrounded by the light as though they were under a dome and then it stopped. Gwyn had done the spell. Wall sconces were broken or just barely hanging on, the room was filled with dust and Matron and Adrian were just getting up off the floor. Gwyn just stood there and didn’t say a thing, he’d done something wrong but what happened to Amanda? He began to shake vigorously and felt very, very tired. The next instant he found himself by a sink and threw up. More than anything he wanted to sleep. If it didn’t work he wasn’t up to doing it again, they’d have to wait. He wiped the sweat from his face with a towel.
He wiped the sweat from his face with a towel.
“Amanda...is she dead?” Gwyn asked.
“No she is very much alive and none the worse.” Dumbledore replied as he and Matron examined Amanda. “I would hazard a guess that you chose the correct spell, well done my boy.”
“Can I go now?” Gwyn asked wearily. “But I want the book.”
Dumbledore stopped what he was doing and looked at Gwyn somewhat taken aback.
“May I ask for what purpose?” Dumbledore asked cautiously.
“I want to see it literally burn page by page. No magic... just old fashion fire.” Gwyn replied.
“Yes I think that would be a fitting end but the letter stays with me.”
“Alright.” Gwyn said after a moment’s thought and handed him the letter.
“Adrian would you make sure Gwyddion makes it to the Gryffindor common room alright.”
Adrian and Gwyn walked out of the ward joined not only by Megan but Andi as well. Matron called out but Dumbledore stopped her.

((OOC Written by Alex and Thalion.))
Halfway to the common room Gwyn sat down on the floor and rested his head against the cold stone wall.
“I’m so friggin’ tired I’d sleep right here if I could.” Gwyn said.
“Riddle!” Megan warned when she saw him walking toward them.
Gwyn got up quickly and they started to walk down the nearest corridor away from Riddle. “Zabe, Delano I want to talk to you.” Riddle shouted bitterly from behind them.
“Shit!” Andi said under her breath.
They all stopped and turned. Riddle walked up and confronted Andi and Megan.
“You have something that belongs to Slytherin House and I would like it back.” he said tersely.
Andi didn’t say anything at first. “We don’t have your stupid book, why don't you go ask Caius about it.” Andi replied staring at him.
“Caius doesn’t have the book. You know that as well as I do. You have the book. The two of you took the book from him in the corridor. I want that book and I want it now.” He looked over at the two boys for a moment and then he stared intently at the girls.
“Stop it Riddle, I know what you’re trying to do. Andi, Megan don’t look at him, he’s trying to use Legilimency against you. She doesn’t have the book.” Gwyn said spitefully. “She gave it to Dumbledore. It was falling apart and your Caius set fire to it, so it was pretty much dust and rubbish after he threw it at them.” Gwyn lied but he relished it.
Riddle looked at Andi and she nodded her head. He looked furious and wasn’t sure if he should believe them. Then without a word he turned and walked away.
“He threw it at us? I like the touch. Riddle will rip Caius limb from limb if he believes you!” Andi laughed.
Well it will get him out of the way for a while but we can’t wait to burn the book. I was going to do it tomorrow but we need to do it now. Gwyn thought for a moment. “Dumbledore’s office, we’ll do it in Dumbledore’s office. The common rooms no good; too many people, but we can do it in Dumbledore’s office.”
“It would be the safest place to burn it. Slytherin has already proved they can get into your common room when they set off that stink sap. If Riddle does come back after us, I don’t think he would look in the office.” said Andi.
“I like it.” Megan added. “We break into Dumbledore’s office and burn the book. What could be easier?”
The four of them made their way quickly to the Professor’s office and Megan was the first to reach the door.
“So what charms would he have protect his office from people like us?” Megan mused.
Gwyn reached for the door knob and turned it. The door was unlocked and swung open. Gwyn looked at the frame and saw a thin blue line surrounding the door. He looked closer and didn’t see anything more. He shrugged and walked in with no ill effects, the other followed.
Andi sighed. “This doesn’t feel right. We’re dealing with the office of someone powerful and wise. I can’t see Dumbledore leaving his office unprotected. Trust me; he’ll know we’re in here.” Andi said somewhat darkly.
“Well we did leave in a hurry, maybe he simply forgot to lock it?” Megan commented.
Adrian looked out the door to make sure no one saw them and then closed it quietly and locked it. He appeared to be somewhat nervous about the whole situation. Gwyn wasted no time and lit a fire in the hearth with his wand. He pulled out the book out and tore it into pieces and handed everyone a section of the book.
“Just rip out the pages and throw them in as fast as you can." Gwyn said.
Adrian looked rather puzzled with everything but began to tear out pages. Andi threw in the first handful and everyone jumped back at the resulting purple flame, sparks and loud hissing sound coming from the fire.
“What the hell was that?” One of them said. It was a minute before anything happened.
“Come on.” Gwyn went forward and threw his papers in the fire and kept tearing out more and throwing them in. The fire flared and sent out sparks and hissing sounds. Everyone began throwing in the pages and it lasted for several minutes until only the fragile bindings were left. Gwyn held the back cover and Megan the front. They threw them in at the same time and as soon as the fire touched the binding there was a huge explosion of fire sending sparks throughout the office and knocking them all down. A loud moan sounded and the purple flame vanished. Both the office, and the four, was a mess.
When everyone was blown back by the explosion due to the final remains of the book being destroyed, Andi's head hit the floor for the second time that day. Right away it began throbbing, and she let out a moan. She was only glad that she had a bandage on it.
“Oww...” Andi closed her eyes for a moment and tried to mentally dull the pain. “That was unexpected. Considering who we’re dealing with though, I’m not surprised. Even in the book itself was magic to harm.”
It took a minute before they got it together enough and stood up. They looked around at each other and at the mess that had been made; thankfully the worst of it was closest to the fireplace. All of a sudden there was someone banging his fist on the door shouting for it to be opened. Startled by it they all jumped and froze; it was Riddle.
“What’s going on in there? Open this door. Open this door now!” he shouted.
“No one shall open that door other than myself, Mr. Riddle. There is no one and nothing going on in my office that I am not fully aware of Tom. As you know no one can enter my office unless I allow it.” Dumbledore looked straight into Riddles eyes. “But I thank you for your concern. Good evening then.”
Dumbledore grabbed the door knob and stepped into his office closing the door quickly behind him. He looked at the foursome and then around the office.
“The book I take it?” he asked after surveying the damage.
“Yes sir.” Gwyn replied.
“Ah... no one hurt?” he asked surveying them.
Everyone said no and shook their head.
“Well you chose well but why didn’t you wait till morning, it could have been arranged to burn in an open fire out of doors by the Dark Forest?
Megan explained their run in with Tom Riddle and how they all wanted the book destroyed as quickly as possible.
“I see.” said the Professor. “Well come along five wands should be able to clean this up quicker than one.
Within a half hour they had thoroughly cleaned everything. They said their goodnights to the professor and made their way out of the office.
“That was too close. How did Riddle know we had the book? I mean, yeah, he probably heard it all from Caius, but Megan and I didn’t even look like our normal selves this afternoon! I’m sure that “Dom” from Slytherin told him it was Megan in the common room...” Andi let out a groan. “I bet he remembered my performance from the Slug Club! Red was one of the colours I showed off!”
“Well, it’s not really your fault. I mean, how were you supposed to know Riddle would recognise you? I didn’t realize someone could be so observant.” Megan commented.
As they turned a corner, they bumped into the Matron, who looked somewhat angered.
“Miss Zabe.” she said sternly. “You have done quite enough with that head of yours tonight! You can’t be exerting yourself. You must know well that if the headmaster hadn’t of allowed it, you would not have the Hospital at all! You should be resting. You three,” she said to Megan, Adrian and Gwyn, “Miss Zabe must go now. She needs to sleep. Good-night to you all.”
With that Andi followed the Matron back to the Hospital. Megan saw her look back at them with a smirk on her face.

((OOC: This takes place after Gwyn performs the counter curse on Charlie and the book is burned))
From within a classroom a loud humming was heard. A blue light beamed from beneath the door and then vanished. Footsteps on the other side quickly approached the door. The door flew open and out poked Kade's head. He looked around the outside a bead of sweat coming down his forehead and then with a grin he stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him.
With that new spell, he thought to himself, if i find the person who hurt Charlie, they'll wish they had never been born.
Kade walked down the school's corridor, quickly consealing his wand in his cloak and then cracking open an old worn book he had carried out of the room with him titled, "Advanced Occlumency and Legilemency." He read as he walked through the corridors and then made it to the stairs. He closed the book and walked up to the next floor and then proceeded toward the hospital wing. When he reached the door he opened it and stepped inside expecting to see Charlie lying on the bed.
To Kade's suprise he was awake and reading a small book about Quidditch.
"Charlie!" Kade said.
Charlie looked around to the door. "Kade!"
Kade ran over to Charlie's bed and grasped Charlie's outstretched hand and clapped him on the back. Charlie grunted.
"Still tender," he said coughing a bit.
Kade winced. "Sorry, mate. How long have you been awake? You were out cold the last time I was here."
Charlie adjusted himself in his bed so that he was lying against the wall behind him. "You know, I'm not exactly sure. I just woke up and the matron smiled and gave me some pumpkin juice. I was told that Gwyn had something to do with it."
"Really?" Kade asked. "Where is he now?"
"He's with Megan downstairs," came a familiar girl's voice across the way.
"Andi!" Kade said. "What happened to you?"
"Oh nothing much," she said pointing to her head. "Just smacked my melon one too many times and the matron told me to take a load off for a while."
"How'd you manage that?" Kade asked.
Andi filled Kade in on the book burning and how when they had thrown the book's binding into the fire the explosion knocked her back and she had hit her head on the floor.
Kade smiled. "Man I've been out of it for a while. It's good to see you both doing well. Is that Amanda over there?"
"Yeah," Charlie said. "She sleeping right now but we'll tell her you dropped by."
"All right thanks mate. I'll see you two later, I'm going to go see if I can find Gwyn and Megan."
Kade walked toward the door and the other two said farewell as he walked back into the corridor.
((hey next post have me meet you, whoever posts next. I wanna get back into the group))

"I DON'T GET IT!" Megan screamed, startling several students who were currently attempting to peacefully walk through the common room. She quieted down a bit, as she noticed more than one person jump. Her fists clenched and unclenched in frustration. She wasn't about to rant with other people around, especially not about this, so she waited until everyone cleared out.
"Caius nearly killed our friends! And Dumbledore knows its him! He knows! That little freak didn't get house points off! He didnt have to write a letter to us either!" Megan growled to herself. "...not that I'd read it if he did."
She sat on the floor with her back resting against the foot of a couch, and pulled the coffee table toward her. Gwyddion lay sprawled out on the sofa behind her, obviously exausted. After her run in with the Slytherins, Megan was not comfortable with being alone. But whatever the case, she was not going to bother him... though she figured her ranting did that already.
A blank piece of parchment sat on the ugly brown plank of a thing that people called a table. Megan glared at it with the utmost contempt, cursing Riddle under her breath.
Finally, she sat forward and dipped her quill into a bottle of ink. She hesitated, though, and watched a drop of ink blot the page.
"There's nothing I want to say to him that would help the situation..." Megan whispered to herself. "Bastard should be out of this school by now." Instead of writing, she traced the outline of her wand on the paper, serveral times over. It held more entertainment than an apology ever would.
She never even started the letter.
Kade walked in a few minutes later, looking pretty relieved to see Gwyddion and Megan. Megan did not return the look for the simple fact that her mood would not allow it. Today had not been Megan's day. Still, she explained about the letter and her punishment when Kade asked, trying her hardest not to insult him.
She sat back and looked at the various scribbles of her wand on the paper. "...Is there anyway we can hex this so the next person who touches it get hives or something?" Megan wasn't serious, just feeling a little miserable. With a sigh, she gave up and just laid down on the carpeted stone floor near the fireplace, tossing her drawings into the braizer as she did so.
"Kade?" she asked, setting her frustration aside as best she could. "Think they'll find Caius? Be a shame to let that one go."

Gwyn woke to the sound of Megan’s voice. He sat up on his elbows and yawned. He looked around and saw Megan lying on the hearth rug in front of the fire; Kade had come in and was standing close by.
“Hey Kade.” Gwyn said wearily as he got up and sat beside Megan on the floor. He noticed a bottle of ink and quill beside Megan.
“I don’t think you should write it.” Gwyn told her as he picked up the quill and twirled in his fingers. “That’s what this is about isn’t it?”
Megan nodded. “I tossed it into the fire. Didn’t have anything written on it anyway. And why do I have to write a letter when Caius is still running around? What about Charlie and Amanda? It’s not right. That bastard should be out of this school by now."
“So don’t write it then. Why should you have to write the bloody note when it’s you and Andi that got the book? Without the book Charlie and Amanda would likely have died, how we got the book shouldn’t matter because he wasn’t going to give it to us. Someone else in Slytherin would have taken the book from the runt; like Riddle. Then we’d of never seen it.”
Gwyn yawned again and stretched. He noticed Kade’s book and leaned over to take a look at the title. “Advanced Occlumency and Legilimency” Interesting but not surprising since Kade was already highly skilled in both arts. Wouldn’t hurt for me to work on my skills. Gwyn said to himself but then he had another thought
“Hey Kade is there some way you could use Legilimency to figure out where someone is?”

((Joint post between Me and Thalion))
"Who did you have in mind," Kade asked.
“Well Caius would be at the top of our list. After Megan and Andi got the book from him he sort of disappeared and he’s got a lot to answer for.” Gwyn replied and Megan agreed.
"All right," Kade said. "But do you have anything I can go off of to find him? Things he may be thinking about possibly? I can't just locate someone that i don't know and don't know in the general area in which to look."
“He might still be in Slytherin House but I doubt that.” Gwyn frowned and looked at Megan “ What’s he thinking” Gwyn said wondering what would be going through Caius’s mind. “Well he could be wondering what’s going to happen when Dumbledore finds him or he could be worried about us finding him because we know what he looks like and what he did. I’d bet he’s being hidden somewhere where there’s not a lot of people but still in the school.” Gwyn said “He might even be worried about Riddle because Riddle wants the book.” Megan commented. ”That’s true.” Gwyn added “and now the book’s gone but they still think we have it.”
"All right," Kade said. "Im going to go upstairs and research some more on starting the search and when everyone's gone to sleep i'll come downstairs and start thew search."
“Sounds like a good plan. Anything we can do to help?” Gwyn asked
"Yes," Kade replied. "Tonight in the dorms, do you think you could cast a charm over the other people in our rooms so that they stay asleep through the entire night? Something tells me if they were to wake up seeing me do Legilimency in the common room they would start to ask questions and then you know how fast word travels around this school, I could be reported to a teacher."
“A sleep charm that big eh? I’d have to go to each dorm and do it there. It’s not likely to work through all the rock and brick work from here. I’ll do all the boys and Megan can do the girls dorms.” Gwyn looked down at her hopefully. Megan glanced up at him with a reproaching look.
“Oh alright but you’ll have to give me the charm.” She said reluctantly.
Gwyn smiled and helped her up. No one was in the common room and it was after nine so everyone should be accounted for.
“You can do your thing here Kade and I’ll set up a muffling spell so there’s no noise from the common room.”
Gwyn showed Megan the wand moves and the wording of the spell. Before they went up to the dorms he turned and cast a spell sealing any noise coming from the common room.
“You know this place is more like Durmstrang every day.” Gwyn’s comment garnered him a swift whack across the back of his head from Megan and a look that spoke volumes.
Gwyn and Megan went to their respective dorm areas and began to cast the charm over each dorm room. Kade took a deep breath and set the book down on the table in front of him. He drew his wand and flicked it across the front of the book, flipping the pages to the desired section. He studied the book for a while and when he felt prepared he sat down on the ground and closed his eyes.
Here we go.
It took Megan Gwyn a good twenty minutes before they had both finished their task and returned to the common room.
“Will we have cast a counter spell?” Megan asked as they sat on the couch.
“No it’s one we made up at Durmstrang and it should last about four hours. Took four of us forever to get it right, in the end it was worth it. I figure Kade wouldn’t need any longer than that, anyway I hope he doesn’t, I’m exhausted.”
Kade's mind opened up, now taking in his surroundings. Though he had no sight he could still see through the perception of his thoughts. His area of influence grew until it took up the entire room. He could sense Gwyn and Megan standing close by talking softly to each other and then as the area grew he brushed across a dream of a couple people in the dormitories.
Good, Kade said, they're sleeping. Looks like Kat has a fear of snakes wearing bow-ties.
He expanded passed the room and into the corridors and down the halls. As he brushed across the minds of the patrolling teachers he had trouble focusing for th teacher's mind were comlpex and always thinking in sporatic intervals about each lesson covered.
This'll be harder than i thought, Kade said as he grimmaced throught the concentraion.
Megan and Gwyn could see the concentration on Kade’s face and fell silent. Gwyn sat back and Megan rested her head against his chest. They both watched Kade at work but it wasn’t long before both of them drifted off. It had been a difficult day for both of them and until Kade found something there was little they could now do.
Kade had now reached the upper levels of the castle and was now searching the rooms. He had been unsuccsesful for what seemed like hours until he felt something. He felt a thought stream similar to the one he was looking for and followed it. He could sense it clear as day but couldn't follow it back to the source. He decided to test if it was what he was looking for.
After a long silence a scared voice came, "...i hope Dumbledore doesn't find out about Charlie or..."
Kade instantly sent a mental jab into the sources mind and marked the location in his memory. The source cried out in agony as he pried information from it untl he got a location: 7th floor.
Found you, Kade voiced ominously in Caius's head.
Kade’s chair shifted when he sat up at the moment he realised what floor Caius was on and this woke Gwyn who shifted with a start and woke Megan too.
“What’s the matter?” Gwyn asked. “Have you found him; do you know where he’s hiding?”
"Yeah," Kade said inhaling and exhaling deeply. "He's on the 7th floor but i don't know exactly where. Let's find him tomorrow, I'm beat."
Though Megan and Gwyn would have loved nothing better than to lay their hands on Caius the thought of doing it now was not even considered. They gave their thanks to Kade for his hard work and agreed that they would get together in the morning and give Andi and Adrian the news and go from there. They knew where to look so it shouldn’t be hard. They said their good nights to Kade as he went to the dorm and hung back for a few minutes holding each other for a moment and then a kiss goodnight before heading to their beds.
Kade rolled into bed and put his arms behind his head. Gwyn walked in a few seconds later and got into the bed next to his. Kade looked over at him and gave him a small salute before rolling over and going to sleep. Tomorrow was a big day.
((good to be back. Thanx Thalion))

Although Andi hadn’t seen her friends since the burning of the book only a few hours before, it already felt like days since she saw them last. Everything that had happened that day was racing through her mind at top speed and she barely even noticed what Matron was saying to her. All in one day! I’m surprised no one’s died of exhaustion yet! It all started with that ruddy Quidditch match this morning! It feels like a lifetime ago… and to think we nearly had Caius… we would have had him… I can’t believe I didn’t take his wand! I shouldn’t go to anymore Quidditch matches! What if at the next –Her train of thought was cut off by Matron’s voice. “Miss Zabe? Miss Zabe? Are you even listening to me?” “Beg pardon?” Andi said shortly. “I was saying that you may need to stay tomorrow, after today, some extra rest would do you good.” “What?!” Andi said outraged. “That should not be allowed! I have homework to do, among other things. Honestly Matron, I feel fine! I don’t want to be in here tomorrow too! There’s nothing, nothing, to do here! Pleeeease let me go tomorrow!” “You suffered from a severe concussion and even though your head is most likely fine now, your body needs rest.” “But it’s still the weekend tomorrow! I’m not going to be chasing around rogue Bludgers or anything! I’ve already said anyway, I’ll be cooped up in the common room doing homework!” “Well, if you are in fact going to be doing homework, then I don’t see why I couldn’t let you out early. But you can’t be over exerting yourself now.” With that Matron walked away and Andi was left with a smirk on her face. Being in Ravenclaw, she had completed all of her homework the night it was assigned and planned mostly on catching up with any news of Caius or Riddle. *** On the morning of Sunday, Andi awoke to a crash on thunder and a grey sky. Not seeing Matron anywhere, she slipped out of bed and pulled her hangings shut, dressing silently and unwrapping the bandages covering her head. She picked up the mirror lying on the table beside her and examined the large purple bruise just above her left eye. I guess I’ll just have to live with it.Making sure her hair was all one colour; Andi summoned her watch, and headed to the Great Hall for breakfast.

((Joint post by Alex, Thalion and myself. Zuku if you don't mind we gave you a few pieces of dialog.))
Rain splattered against Megan's window falling through the crack in the frame to hit her lightly on the face. She woke with a start and wiped away the water, grumbling to herself about everything and nothing. Swinging her legs over the side of her four-poster bed, she reluctantly got to her feet and rammed her shoulder into the window frame to make sure it would stay shut.
One of her dorm mates growled angrily about the racket Megan was making, and, much to the girl's surprise, received a series of loud firecracker type noises and a face full of red sparks from a grumpy Megan. The other girls in the room woke to protest, but Megan was already back in bed, tucked away underneath the covers.
She slept for another hour or so before finally deciding to get ready and head for breakfast. Gwyddion and Kade were already in the common room, talking quietly with Megan's dorm mate who was apparently tattling on her. Megan offered an apologetic look as she and the two boys walked off, but she did not feel sorry enough about what she'd done to put her thoughts in words.
Gwyn walked over to Megan and slipped his arm around her and walked out of the common room along with Kade. They slowly made their way to the Great Hall and neither said anything about what her dorm mate had told of her early morning antics.
Megan did seem a little out of sorts to Gwyn, but with everything that happened the day before he would have been surprised if it hadn’t affected her in some way. As they walked the three of them tried to talk about Kade’s findings from the night before but they never seemed to be alone. There was something else that was odd and Megan noticed it first. Somehow they seemed to be drawing a lot of attention to themselves or so it seemed.
“There’s no way that anyone could know about last night. Caius or the hospital? Gwyn whispered.
When they walked into the Great Hall Megan seemed to melt into Gwyn’s side as the heads of all the Slytherins and a number of others turned in their direction. Gwyn who was use to this was uncomfortable with all the attention they garnered especially from the Slytherin table. They sat at the Gryffindor table with their back to everyone and acted as though there was nothing going on. It took less than a minute for Andi to leave the Ravenclaw table and join them.
As Andi looked up from her breakfast to have a drink of coffee, her eyes wandered to the door of the Great Hall and she saw Gwyn, Kade and Megan enter. Megan seemed to be making an effort to melt into Gwyn; Andi looked over to the Slytherin table and discovered that many Slytherin eyes were following her in. The trio seated themselves at the Gryffindor table and Andi found her legs swinging over the side of the bench to go and sit with them.
“Good morning.” she said as she seated herself down. “I managed to convince Matron to let me out early, not a moment too soon either! I swear, it’s like a prison in there! There is absolutely nothing to do! But while I was there, I went in to see Amanda and she’s doing unbelievably well! It scared me how close she was to death and now, she can have conversations! I also managed to catch up with Charlie, and unfortunately word is out that you had something to do with his rapid recovery, Gwyn. There were a few senior Gryffindors that came into see him and I didn’t hear much, but I do know that he dropped your name a couple of times.”
Gwyn sighed. “That means that words got out. Won’t be long before news of Amanda gets out either. I hoped Matron wouldn’t have said anything, considering where the counter curses came from. That means Riddle will know I had the book last. Well at least he won’t be hounding the two of you anymore.”
“That wouldn’t make it any better.” Andi growled.
“He knows he won’t be able to push me around.” Gwyn replied. “He didn’t seem like much of a gentleman and I don’t doubt if he thought you had the book he’d use his wand to get it. Come on let’s eat something and get to the seventh floor and find that bastard.”
"Might I inquire as to why we’re going to seventh floor?” Andi asked with a puzzled look. “I missed something last night, didn’t I?”
“I know Caius is on the seventh floor. I used Legilimency last night and found him on the seventh floor. I don’t know where on the seventh floor but he definitely there.” Kade explained.
“Hmmm, where did you do this from?” Andi asked.
“From the common room. We put a sleeping charm on all the dorms and I reached out with my mind using Legilimency and I touched his mind. I gave him a jolt he won’t forget either.” Kade smiled.
“Nice. Well, I suppose we should eat up, the sooner we leave, the more time we have to look.” Andi replied, and then began to dish scrambled eggs onto the plate in front of her.
Everyone piled food on their plates and dug in. For a while looks and whispers that went on behind their backs were forgotten. None watched them though with more interest than Tom Riddle. Everyone was eating and talking about the Quidditch match and classes, talking about anything but what they had their minds. Gwyn grew quiet and put down his fork and looked up. He stared at Riddle who was across the room. A shadow crossed his face and then after a moment it passed. Riddle then left the Great Hall. Megan watched Gwyn’s face and turned around just as Riddle looked away and left. She looked at Gwyn and all he did was smile and wink his eye. Ten minutes later they all left the Great Hall together and started up the stairwells to the seventh floor.
After a quick breakfast the five hurried out of the Great hall, trying their best to act indifferent to the stares. Megan was not so worried about avoiding classmates, as she was for avoiding Dumbledore. She was not even sure if he was even up at the head table for breakfast, due to her new habit of hiding by Gwyddion, and in all fairness she did not want to know. She gave him some space the minute they got away from the hall.
"So Kade," she asked, trying to pick her pride back up. "Do you know where he is exactly? I mean... the 7th floor isn't exactly a wide open room. Theres plenty of places to hide... and he's armed." Her emphasis on the word armed, and her quick glance at Andrea, betrayed Megan's ever-growing anxiety.
Andrea was quick to point out that it was five to one, and wisely decided not to mention that there could still be other people aiding Caius.

((OOC: no big deal, i just got back from LA for a band trip so now i wanna post again))
"Well," Kade said, "as of breakfast earlier i had locked onto his thought patern. I've been traking him this entre morning and have a good idea of which general direction to begin searching. I can assure you this though: he won't be able to think straight enought to attack us te moment I am in range of his thoughts."
Megan nodded and the others followed closely behind Kade as he lead them slowly through the halls on the seventh floor. Some people were passing by them as they went along and Kade would give them a cheerful smile. They would return the gesture and walk on not suspecting anything, even a legiemense tracking someone throught the halls. Kade lead the group to a stone wall and stopped.
"What is it," Gwyn asked.
Kade closed his eyes and concentrated harder on Caius' thought patterns until he was sure.
"This is where it stops," Kade said. "He's right here." Kade put his hand on thw wall.
"What do you mean here? It's a wall," Andi said.
"Just exactly what i said, he's here." Kade looked around. "How is this possible?"
((Ill let someone else go now, we dont know about the room of requirement yet right?))

Owl after owl sailed into the Great Hall through the opened upper windows to bring in the morning post. Acacia scanned the incoming birds silently, looking for any sign of familiarity. Her father's reply was expected any day now. Acacia had to admit that she really could care less about what happened to Caius, but she could and would not be known as 'the cousin of that idiot' by other houses. She'd fix this if she could.
Finally, a night black owl dropped down low and headed down the Slytherin table. "Dhiren," she whispered to herself, recognizing her father's owl. The bird landed lightly next to her plate, his tail feathers brushing scrambled eggs off her friend's plate and onto the girl's lap. The 6th year girl made to shove the owl away, but had her finger bitten the minute she reached for Dhiren.
"Sorry," Acacia said absently, already reaching for the little brown letter tied to the bird's foot while he was preoccupied with someone else's outstretched fingers. After retriving the letter, she clenched her left fist and quickly shoved her forearm behind the owl's feet. The bird had no other choice but to step up and let Acacia send him back into the air. In the same movement, the girl had left her seat and went trotting off to the library for solitude.
When she was certain she was alone, Acacia tore the seal and began to read.
Monday at midnight. Side-Along App. Home.
The letter was not even signed. "Great, more work for me," she muttered to herself, knowing that the side-along apparition part was a command and not a request. She'd have to get to Hogsmeade to be able to do it, though. Acacia wondered what was keeping the family that they couldn't get Caius tonight. She sighed and burned the note.
"Hey Acacia! Any word from...you know.." came a familiar voice from a nearby bookshelf.
Acacia looked up from her seat to see her friend Gaetano coming towards her. She shook her head, not thinking it wise to discuss the Caius issue here.
Gaetano, who didn't care about Caius and was really just trying to make conversation, frowned and made to leave.
"...Hey wait!" Acacia called after him. "You wouldn't happened to know anything about disillusionment charms, would you?" She got up from her seat to brush against the boy's side.
Gaetano just smiled and offered his arm.

Behind a pile of books Adrian shrank down to avoid being seen. As Acacia and her greasy friend walked by the Ravenclaw boy peaked over the top of his large book. He had heard most of what they said and when he recognized who she must be and that they must have been talking about Caius. As the two walked by, oblivious to the boy eavesdropping on them, Adrian smiled. Sliding the books off to the side of the desk he stood up inconspicuously. The two Slytherins left the library with Adrian sneaking behind them.
Having heard that the girl was looking for someone who was knowledgeable in disillusionment charms, Adrian was intrigued. It was known to him that Caius had gone into hiding and it seemed like more than coincidence that some of the Slytherins were learning about disillusionment. In the interest to find the traitorous Caius, Adrian tailed them. From what he could hear, Gaetano was describing how he could be able to find a proper spell for her, but every so often he would make a subtle advance on Acacia. The act didn't surprise Adrian as much as how much thought it might have taken to come up with some of the lines. He could almost call the flirtation witty if he didn't know it came from a Slytherin.
The two turned another corner and their conversation suddenly stopped. Feeling the silence surround them, Adrian stopped too, inching to the corner to listen more intently. He had gone too slow to hear the beginning but the rest was just as important. "...idiot hidden up in a room that should keep him safe but I need to move him. That’s why I needed the spell, before tomorrow too, that’s when he's getting out of here." Adrian held his breath, finally hearing words that he needed.
"Hmm." the voice was deeper, obviously the boys. "I think I might be able to find just the thing, just give me a little bit. I can probably show you it to you at the end of the day in the common room when everyone is asleep." the tone of his voice changed to be what he must have thought to be seductive. "Then afterwards, we can find a way for you to repay me," He hard the girl scoff at the words.
"Whatever, just get it done. I'll see you tonight about it then." Adrian turned to leave, hearing what he needed. Unfortunately the two Slytherins decided to go his direction too. He was quickly caught face to face with two equally surprised students. "Get him!" they both shouted simultaneously. Adrian fumbled quickly for his wand but the other boy barreled into him, knocking him flat. Adrian's wand clattered away as he fell. Gaetano was bigger than him and easily overpowered Adrian, pulling his arms behind his back and shoving his large sleeve into his mouth to keep him from talking.
Gaetano was practically sitting on Adrian and he doubted he could make a noise even if he wasn’t gagged, he could barely even breathe. Acacia casually went over and pilfered his dropped wand. After pocketing it she walked over and landed a blow to the back of his head. It hurt surprisingly much coming from the girl and doubly so as his head rebounded off the hard floor. Gaetano pulled him up roughly. "It was not wise following us. I thought you Ravenclaws had more sense than that." Acacia said as she stared into his eyes.
Adrian’s left eye was already starting to swell from smacking into the floor and his head throbbed from both of the hits. He couldn’t begin to fight back as they pummeled him into unconsciousness. Hoisting Adrian’s limp body over his shoulder, Gaetano lugged him off with Acacia in the lead. “We can’t let him go till Caius is safely away, and even after that we should hold him for ransom or something. I’ve seen this one with that group of no-good twats from Gryffindor.” Acacia said as they stepped into a closet that seemed to have not been used for years. She grabbed a chair from a corner and sat it in the middle of the room. Gaetano set him down in it then slapped him until he woke up.
Shocked back into reality Adrian took a sharp intake of breath. His left eye was now completely swollen shut and the rest of his body ached. He could faintly see the outline of a woman’s figure against the light of the open door. Acacia pulled out her wand and pointed it at Adrian. A pit grew in his stomach as he thought of what she might cast at him. “Incarcerous.” She hissed. Snaking chains crawled out of the chair and locked Adrian firmly to the chair. He struggled against the bindings but they held fast. She then walked right in front of him and pressed the tip of her wand to his neck. “Silencio.” she whispered then smacked him. He tried to hiss in pain but no sound came out. “This should hold him for a while, lets get going before someone wonders where we are.” She said then left with Gaetano following behind her.
A soft light traced the outline of the door, a spell sealing it he assumed, and then he was in total darkness. Adrian tried calling out but not a sound was made. Pulling at the chains again he heard the light clinks as they shifted but didn’t loosen. Hanging his throbbing head in defeat Adrian let himself drift into unconsciousness again.

The group just sat and stared blankly at Kade for a moment.
...It's a wall, Megan thought to herself. Maybe Kade's losing it... He was up pretty late last night looking for Caius.
She shook her head in spite of herself. They could always trust Kade, no matter how ridiculous the situation... but still. The thought of blasting their way through the wall crossed their minds more than once. But, after reports about the potions closet being vandalized, it was not something they thought they should risk without accidentally taking the blame.
So having Kade's word as their only starting point, the group checked the wall and the area around it for anything unusual. When their efforts proved unsuccesful they checked the entire floor, eventually getting so frustrated that they split up to search. It was nearing lunch time now and Megan was starting to hope that Caius would actually try something. Atleast then their search would not have been in vain.
They never spotted Caius or any of his cohorts.
Megan returned back to their starting point where Kade was still frantically searching. "Kade, we believe you. Maybe we should just give it a rest for today?" she said, feeling sorry for him.
He sighed in defeat and sat down with his back to the wall. Megan sat down quietly next to him and waited for the others to come back.
The group eventually retired to the library, where Gwyddion insisted on looking up concealment charms. They piled book after book in front of each other, hoping to spot anything useful. Megan, finishing one book, got up to find another. She yawned and glanced at her watch, thinking herself silly for getting tired in the middle of the day over a few books.
On her way down their chosen isle, she lurched forward for a moment and caught herself before tripping completely. What the?! she thought, getting grumpy now. Upon closer inspection, she identified the object that had nearly caused her to fall to her death as Adrian's book bag. She looked left and right, wondering why she hadn't seen Adrian in there earlier.
He must have forgotten it, she decided. Ravenclaws and their books!
With that, she shouldered the bag. Someone had to return it to him. Grabbing a fresh book, Megan headed back to the group. She threw Adrians bag on their table and reluctantly sat down to flip threw her new tome.

Gwyddion closed the book and looked at his watch wondering just how long they had been at it. There were several spells that interested him but none of them would have changed the fact that there was a door there; they would only have hidden it from view. They had been over every inch of the seventh floor and felt all along the wall and there was nothing there in spite of what Kade said. He trusted Kade’s Legilimency and felt sure that Caius was there somewhere, but where, what were they missing? Caius had to eat at sometime or someone would have to bring him something to eat and drink and what about going to the washroom? Caius didn’t seem like the type to sit hidden somewhere and put up with much discomfort. Wherever he was someone would have to keep him comfortable to keep him quiet and he had to be told what was going on and when to come out.
Gwyn stood up and looked around. Adrian’s bag was there so he couldn’t be far off. He walked the library and checked the all the aisles; several times.
“Hey Megan have you seen Adrian?” Gwyn asked
She hadn’t seen him and explained why the bag was on the table. Gwyn hadn’t known Adrian long but he knew he never left his books lying around; something’s not right here.
“Don’t you find it strange that Adrian’s books are her but he isn’t?” He asked Megan.
Megan looked up at him.
“He’s not here; I went through the place twice; odd don’t you think? Anyway I’ve got an idea to find Caius. Someone’s got to be keeping tabs on him, keeping him fed because he can’t walk into the Great Hall, they need to keep him informed and then there’s natures call. If he doesn’t have to come out someone has to go to him. It will likely be that Slytherin bitch you ran into. We can watch her and we can watch the hallway. I’d hoped to have Adrian help but you wouldn’t be interested in going under a short term disillusionment spell would you? Nothing more than say a couple hours? You watch her and I’ll watch the seventh floor. We might come up with something, you never know.

Andi put down her book, noticing the book bag lying on the table for the first time.
“Hey, isn’t that Adrian’s?” she commented.
“Yeah,” Megan replied, “it nearly caused my premature death. What is it with you Ravenclaws and books? This thing must weigh 100 pounds!” she exclaimed.
“Ahh, that’s normal, and honestly I’m surprised you’re not used to it yet! How long have you known Emily now?” Andi teased. “But this confuses me, Adrian doesn’t usually leave his bad lying around…I’ll bring it to the common room. Maybe he’ll be there. I’ll grab my book bag too; there could be something in my other books.”
Megan emerged from a pile of books with a frustrated face.
“There had better be something in one of ‘em. Hey, if you see Adrian, drag him down here, maybe he could help us.”
“Sure, I’ll be back in a bit!”
Waving to the three trapped behind the mountain, Andi grabbed Adrian’s bag and journeyed to the Ravenclaw common room.
“Password?”
“Bowtruckle.”
Andi stepped into the common room for the first time that day. She first went to the dormitory to grab her bag and then headed back to the common room. Unfortunately, when she arrived back, she realised Adrian wasn’t there. Looking around, she spotted a third year, Darien, sitting by the fire working on an essay. As Andi approached she read part of his essay, potions.
“Potions containing moonstones tend to glow during full moons, which is also the best time to make potions with moonstone as an ingredient.” she commented.
The poor boy nearly jumped put of his chair when Andi spoke.
“Whoa!!” he exclaimed. “I didn’t expect someone to be peering over my shoulder! But thanks for the tips, I’ll definitely add them!” he said with a smile.
“Darien,” Andi started, “have you seen Adrian around at all?”
“Not since this morning. He came back from breakfast to grab his stuff and then headed down to the library…but that must have been over an hour ago now, why do you ask?”
Weird… Andi thought to herself.
“Well we found his book bag just lying on the library floor, but we couldn’t find him. He usually doesn’t leave his stuff lying around, especially books.”
Darien sat quietly in his chair, pondering the matter.
“Do Prefects have to patrol corridors during the day? Like, is it possible he forgot to and then rushed off?” he asked.
“I don’t think so, usually patrolling only happens in the evening. Well, I have to go, some of my friends are waiting for me back in the library. If you see Adrian, would you give these to him?” Andi said handing over the book bag.
“Yeah, sure. I’ll just leave it on his bed for him. If I see him I’ll tell him where it is.”
“Thanks Darien. I’ll see you later!”
“Bye, Andrea.”
Andi walked back to the library thinking about why a Ravenclaw would just leave their possessions behind. When she arrived back she was bombarded with book and questions, and soon she found herself once again consumed with curiosity.

Megan didn’t seem too thrilled with the idea of being disillusioned. Not that she didn’t trust Gwyn, but the idea of being invisible in the muggle world was always linked to a story about some sinister plot. Whether or not that was her unconscious reasoning it was nonetheless an opportunity to follow Acacia. Andi was coming back shortly and until she got back and was told what they were doing there was no budging Megan out of the library. Gwyn would just have to wait.
The minutes seemed to drag on for Gwyn and as soon as Andi arrived Gwyn was up and ready to go, but Megan still didn’t seem too eager. Andi was also concerned that a fourth year was doing something many adult wizards wouldn’t or couldn’t do. Gwyn tried to reassure them and told them of the times it had been done at Durmstrang, usually done to raid the kitchen or to avoid being found by a teacher. It was a skill he’d learned from a sixth year friend and not in a classroom. This did nothing to sooth Megan’s apprehension but she hesitantly agreed. They left the library with Andi following and ducked into the first classroom they found. The spell would work for about 2 hours and after that you would slowly over the next hour become fully visible, unless the counter spell was done and they be visible right away. He firstly did the charm on himself and faded from sight. Next he performed the charm on Megan and she too faded. Had anyone seen Andi in the classroom they would have figured that she was strangely talking to herself.
On the seventh floor Gwyn sat on the marble bench at the top of the stairs. There wasn’t much traffic up here and the time seemed to drag on. Just over an hour later he heard steps coming up the stairs.
It was a senior Slytherin student that fit Acacia’s description well. There was nothing suspicious in her manner until Gwyn noticed her left hand was clenched as though she was carrying something. At the top of the stairs she stopped and looked back. Gwyn’s excitement rose, this was her and she had something disillusioned in her left hand, a bag or something like it. He watched as she walked down the hall now making an effort to be as quiet as possible. She stopped half way down the corridor and looked over her shoulder. He heard another set of steps coming up the stairs and quickly glanced down the stairs but there was nothing there. He turned and looked at where Acacia had been standing and in the few seconds he looked away she had vanished. He stood up and his jaw dropped, where did she go?
Gwyn was nearly knocked over as Megan walked right into him.
“Gwyn?” Came her whispering voice.
“Ya it’s me, hold out your hand.” Gwyn made a small grunt as Megan’s hand hit him in the gut.
“Sorry.” she whispered as Gwyn took her hand. “Where is she?”
“I’m not sure, she disappeared.” Gwyn walked with Megan in tow to the last spot Acacia stood.
“She was right here. I heard you on the stairs and looked back for a second or two and she was gone when I looked back. There’s nothing here though, no place to go.”
Gwyn felt the wall and pushed on it hoping to find a concealed door but there was nothing. On one side was the wall and on the other nothing but the drop to the drop down to the second floor.
“She was right here. If she’d walked away I would have seen her, there’s nothing here though, no class, no door, no anything.” If Megan had been able to see Gwyn’s face it would have had a look of utter bewilderment.
“Now I know how Kade felt,” he commented. “This is almost the same spot Kade came to but there nothing here, no place to go unless you can walk through a wall or fly.”
While Gwyn was bewildered it only served to peak Megan’s interest. Megan looked over the railing down to the second floor and then back at the wall
She commented “Unless she can fly she has to come back here. If there’s something here she has to use it to get out right?”
“Right.” Gwyn agreed and looked at his watch. “She better do it soon or we’ll start looking like ghosts in about 40 minutes.”
They sat there for about 15 minutes and stared at the wall. To their utter astonishment a door suddenly appeared and opened. There was Acacia checking the corridor and standing close behind her was Caius.
“I’ll make sure he forgets everything, he won’t even remember his name.” She told Caius. “He’s safely tucked away and Gaetano’s watching him. If he struggles the chains will only tighten, so stop your incessant whining.”
Caius muttered something they couldn’t hear.
“Oh shut up. Do you want to get out of here or not?” she snapped.
Caius again said something that irritated Acacia even more.
“I don’t give a dam; you’ll do as your told now shut it. Father will be waiting for us at midnight and he’ll take you home. If you hadn’t been so stupid in the first place you wouldn’t be in this mess. You’re pathetic. Now eat, it’ll be the last you get today. I can't keep coming back here or someone will notice. I won’t be coming back until it’s time to go, Gaetano will bring you something tomorrow.” She walked off to the stairs with a smug look on her face. The door she had come out of had disappeared and once again looked like nothing more than a piece of panelled wall.

Megan stared in disbelief as Caius and the room he had just been standing in vanished. Everything about this was completely insane! Since her predicament earlier in the Slytherin common room, Megan was not comfortable with Acacia being so near.
As Acacia got closer in the hallway, Megan estimated that she would need to give her a little more space to avoid being caught. She shrunk back against Gwyddion, trying her hardest not to step on his unseen foot, as the two moved aside quietly to let the Slytherin girl pass. Megan, however, could not do this fast enough, as her hand accidentally brushed Acacia's robes.
A loose wand fell from the girl's pocket to the carpeted floor at Megan's feet. Acacia didn't seem to notice. Megan sighed softly, relieved that they had not been detected.
Megan felt Gwyddion release her hand, and she assumed that he was looking for some sort of protrusion on the wall to help pry open their vanishing portal. She trotted slowly back to the stairs and glanced over the rail. Acacia was long gone. Megan gripped the railing, more than a little frustrated. Caius was just in front of them... perhaps they should have done something the minute he appeared?
But Megan was done rushing into things without thought. Her only worry now, was taking too long to examine her actions.
The two looked back to the wall and examined it for what seemed the millionth time that day. Nothing was different. They had just seen a door, where a door currently wasn't! Even more frustrating, was that they still had no physical means with which to open it.
She sighed and bent down to pick up the wand Acacia had dropped. It looked familiar, though it took her awhile to recognize it.
"It's Adrian's..." Megan whispered to Gwyn, a little confused now. She thought back to Caius's conversation only a few minutes earlier... and prayed with all her heart that it had nothing to do with their Ravenclaw friend.

Gwyn stopped trying to force the wall panel open when he heard Megan mention Adrian's name. “Adrian’s... are you sure?” Gwyn looked around and this wasn’t the place to sort it out. “Come on we can’t suddenly materialise here.” Gwyn took Megan’s hand and found the first empty room they came across two floors down. He did the counter spell and they both reappeared. Megan held the wand in her open palm and had gone pale.
Gwyn whispered not wanting to be overheard by anyone passing by. “How could they have managed to nab Adrian when his book bag was in the library? He wouldn’t have left his books behind to follow them would he? How would he even know who they were? I’ve never seen that girl or this Gaetano guy she mentioned.” Gwyn paused then shook his head. “This is no good; I’m getting ahead of myself. First thing we have to do is go back to Andi and make sure that this is Adrian’s wand. If it is his wand I know just the guy to find him, Kade. He’ll find him, he found Caius behind that hidden door. Caius isn’t going anywhere for now but if it’s Adrian we need to find him fast.”
Megan and Gwyn ran down the stairs and all the way back to the library. They walked into the library and saw Andi still at the same table looking through a pile of books. They walked up to her and she looked up at them. She looked from one to the other with a baffled look on her face. Megan reached across the table and laid the wand in front of her. Andi picked up the wand and looked at it... then it struck her whose wand it was.

Andi stared at the wand, completely dumbfounded. As she thought about it, she felt the colour start to drain from her face.
“How did you get Adrian’s wand?” she asked slowly.
Megan sighed; Andi’s answer had confirmed it.
“It fell out of this Slytherin girls robes when I accidentally brushed against her. She came out of the room Caius is hiding in, but we still don’t know how to get in. She’s been helping Caius the whole time.”
“What does she look like?” Andi asked urgently.
“Remember the girl who snatched the note of out my hand, on the night we broke into the Slytherin common room?”
“Only too clearly.” Andi said, catching on.
“It’s her.”
“Acacia.” Andi spat out bitterly. “Everything I’ve heard about her is bad. She’s got the shortest temper in Hogwarts, and she’ll do anything to protect her reputation.”
“Fantastic.” Gwyn commented. “We think there’s the possibility she holding Adrian somewhere. We heard her saying something about “chains growing tighter if someone struggles.” It might be Adrian.”
“Shit! If she has Adrian, he’s in deep!”
Andi was now the same white as the parchment in front of her. Her heart was beating as if trying to break through her ribs. She was also aware that her ears had grown very hot.
“It all makes sense! That’s why Adrian’s books were here! I – I knew it wasn’t like him to leave his stuff like that! Oh shit! We’ve got to find him!”
“Yeah, how’re we supposed to find him in this school before he dehydrates and turns into a raisin?” Megan said sarcastically.
“Kade.” was all Gwyn had to say.

Gwyddion’s Legilimency skill weren’t too shabby but up against Kade there was no comparison. He quickly found Kade using his Legilimency and had him come to the library asap. When Kade got to the library everything was explained to him in detail including the hidden room. When asked he immediately jumped at the challenge to find Adrian using his Legilimency skills. What was needed was some place where Kade would be uninterrupted long enough for him to sort through the jumble of thoughts and find Adrian. Gwyn suggested the 3rd floor short cut that opened near the Gryffindor common room. It would be no problem for Gwyn to seal the openings at either end and give Kade all the time he needed.
Within ten minutes the four of them were in the now seal shut third floor shortcut. Kade settled in and began to reach out with his mind. When Caius was the object of Kade’s search it was late night and nearly all the students were asleep. It was now early afternoon and the school was filled the thoughts of hundreds of students. It was by no means an easy task for Kade to sort through the many hidden thoughts that filled the school but after an exhausting hour Kade found Adrian.
The area that Kade identified was off the beaten path and saw little use and nearly no student traffic. Students seldom went there since it seem nothing more than a cold disused musty storage area that had no through corridor but ended abruptly at a natural bedrock wall. The four of them split into two groups fought the urge to rush in and find Adrian; they didn’t want to draw any attention to themselves. Ten minutes later they met at the head of the corridor and looked things over for a few minutes before going to the door Kade singled out. Gwyn slowly reached out and turned the door knob but it was locked. He move back a couple of steps and pointed his wand at the door latch. He didn’t say anything but a second later the door latch exploded. Andi moved in to be the first through the door.

After the dust had cleared from the explosion, Andi pushed past everyone waiting in front of the door, her wand at the ready. This is it… she thought. With her left hand, she gave the door a slight push and watched it slowly creak open. Everyone held their breath as their eyes adjusted to the darkness that engulfed them. Lumos! Andi’s wand lit up and she ran foreword desperately as a limp figure came into view.
“Oh my God! Adrian! Adrian! Can you hear me?” she said despairingly, kneeling down in front of him and lifting his unconscious head. One of his eyes was completely swollen shut and there were small bruises and scratches here and there on the rest of his face. Andi looked over him carefully, He must have been struggling… she thought as she saw the tension of his bindings. “Relashio!” she whispered pointing her wand at the bindings, which then fell lifelessly to the ground. The three others came in cautiously behind Andi.
“Who the hell would do this to him!?” Megan spat out furiously.
Adrian’s now un-bound body slumped down and began leaning off the chair, which was then supported by Andi, who had grabbed him.
“Mobilicorpus.” Gwyn spoke. Adrian’s body lifted up off of Andi and momentarily floated while Andi vanished the chair below him. Slowly and gently, Gwyn allowed Adrians’ limp body to float down to the ground and lie motionless.
“Well,” Andi started, “his breathing is sounding better now that those bindings are off him. He must have been struggling, considering how tight they were! I’ll wake him up.” Andi told the others. Taking a deep breath, she pointed her wand at his torso and thought Ennervate! Slowly, Adrian began to stir.
The one eye that wasn’t swollen opened a crack, as if expecting a harsh light to be shining. He lay motionless for a short while, allowing enough strength to gather that he could sit up. None spoke during this time, all that was heard were the breathing of the five friends, and the distance sounds of the school. All eyes were on Adrian.
Megan was the first to speak. “Adrian, who the hell did this to you?”
Adrian slowly opened his mouth, but when no sound came out he looked at Andi. She returned his look, but with that of puzzlement. He raised his hand and pointed at his throat, and opened his mouth again. Understanding, Andi took up her wand and pointed it at Adrian’s throat, speaking the counter curse to silencing. Then she reached into her robes, and retrieved his wand, which she placed into his shaky hand.
Again, Megan spoke. “Who the hell did this to you, Adrian?”
