“SPIDERS WEB!! ARE YOU INSANE?!!! There could be spiders out there; no web is to be trusted no matter how old they appear! I thought those strands of silver hair on your head and in your bead showed that sage wisdom had finally taken hold but I guess not, you’re as crazy now as when we first met 120 winters past.” Thalion grabbed his bow and quiver and glowered down at Dagoron. “Where in udûn have you put him! Before Dagoron could give any reply Granites shouting told Thalion what direction to go.
Thalion ran through the woods and closed in on Granite’s panicked shouts. He looked high into the tree canopy and wondered just how far up the dwarves managed to drag the struggling kinsman. He stopped so abruptly he almost stumbled but he found Granite high (for dwarves) in a tree in a web that didn’t look all that old. “Oh udûn” Thalion cursed as he clambered up the tree. Granite had been suspended between two fairly large branches well apart in a web strong enough to hold any large bird, man or dwarf for that matter.
Granite was shouting loudly in the dwarven tongue, curses at Dagoron no doubt, which made Thalion grateful that he knew only a few rudimentary words of their language. Granite was thrashing about in the web to no avail and was only making things worse. “Calm yourself Granite and I’ll have you out of here in no time.” Thalion said hoping to calm the dwarf. Thalion managed to free one of Granites arms which he waves angrily with a clenched fist unintentionally hitting Thalion in the temple and causing him to stumble backwards and grab hold of a small branch.
‘If that fist connects with me one more time you’re going to get yourself out of here. Is that clear?!” Thalion shouted at Granite. Granite seemed to settle down for a minute but a minute is to long for him to hold his tongue and quite squirming. “Shut up and stop the thrashing.!” Thalion finally shouted in Granites face. “If there’s any spiders within a league of here you’ll have them down on us in no time.” Thalion grumbled and his temple throbbed as he tried to cut the silken threads holding Granite. He was about to say something when an odd but familiar rattling sound reached his ears. “If you value your life Granite don’t move a muscle, we have company.” Thalion looked up and searched the canopy and saw a large black shape making it way through the high forest trees with ease.
“Damn what next.” He said as he looks around for Bessain “Bess we have company!” He shouted as he readied his bow. The spider sensing something made it way quickly through the upper canopy before dropping to Thalion’s and Granites level. Thalion loosed an arrow sinking it into one of the spider’s eight eyes and quickly notch another. The spiders hissed in pain and stepped back thrashing it's forelegs in the air. Being more cautious it waited a moment preparing to fight for it’s prey.

Bessain had almost given up on looking for Dagoron, when the dwarves suddenly jumped up from their meal and ran in packs toward the Mirkwood forest. That could never be a good sign from the lazy race. She followed behind reluctantly until they led her to Dagoron. The fact that Granite was in a tree and Thalion climbing up after him was a mystery to Bessain, even when she saw them with her own eyes.
"Dag! What are they doing?" she asked.
The dwarf just chuckled and kept watching.
Bessain really didn't like being ignored when she was talking, but decided to drop the question and figure this whole thing out herself. This time when she looked closer, she noticed the spider web. How did Granite get up there? From the constant stream of curses coming from the dwarf she had no doubt that Dagoron had something to do with it.
"Dagoron, have you gone mad?!"Bessain, like the rest of her elven kin, knew all too well the dangers of the Mirkwood. She strode forward to aid Thalion in his troublesome predicament but was blocked by dwarves. Stopping to study the situation, she had to wonder if Thalion was worth helping after his unfortunate comment last night. Thalion was a friend and therefore deserved her loyalty and assistance. She gave an annoyed sigh and belted her weapons to her waist, not wanting anything to get in the way of her vision.
Dropping into a crouch she readied to bowl through the line of dwarves. Just when Bessain was about to spring forward, she found that she suddenly could not. Turning around she noticed that two dwarves had latched onto her belt, digging their heels into the dirt. She kicked their feet out from under them and wrestled around in the dirt attempting to wriggle away. Bessain finally just unbuckled her belt and kept her bow with her. The wall of dwarves now distracted, she gathered speed and hopped over them, thanking Eru for making dwarves short.
Notching two steel tipped arrows, Bessain remained on the ground and walked straight underneath the spider's position, firing up into it's soft underbelly. This gave Thalion enough time to cut Granite free, despite the fact that the spider was not dead. She sprinted back underneath Granite's position. "Drop him!" Bessain comanded, bracing herself to catch the dead weight of a dwarf. Thalion tried to do so, but Granite did not want to be dropped from that height. The little dwarf tried to grab for Thalion as the elf pushed him off the tree. In mid air the dwarf caught Thalion's boot and the weight of the dwarf dragged his foot downward into the spiderweb.
The dwarf was heavier than he looked and he knocked Bessain to the ground as he fell. Bessain, now stuck underneath a dwarf, could only hope that Thalion could free himself.

Granites flailing arms managed in the last instant to grab Thalion’s boot and firmly pulled the elf’s foot into the sticky web. Bessain’s well placed arrows gave him some time as the spider retreated higher into the canopy hissing at them all the while. Thalion hacked at the silk anchor threads managing to cut through them but the sticky threads were not giving way as quickly. He closely watched the spider’s every move because this female was not giving up it’s prey without a fight. The spider scurried through the high canopy and dropped with incredible speed onto a limb from where it could easily pounce on him. With Bessain still under Granite shouting all the while he had little hope of trying to beat the spider off. Reluctantly Thalion cut the leather laces on his boot and pulled his foot out. Free of the web but missing a boot he jumped down to ground, then grabbed Granite and yanked him off of Bessain threw him into bracken beside the small clearing. Under a hail of arrows from the dwarves and the two elves the spider was quickly driven off and likely to die from it’s wounds.
In a rage Thalion turned on Dagoron using all his strength to not give the dwarf a good thrashing. “You idiot, you could have gotten us all killed!! I don’t know what kind of hair brain idea you had but this was one of your most idiotic. What the hell were you trying to prove? Granites lucky he didn’t break his or Bessain’s neck! I’d kick your backside all the way back to Ered Luin but I doubt it would do any good!” He glared at Dagoron for a moment then turned and stomped off to his horse. Thalion rummaged in his pack and pulled out a second set of boots and changed into them. He then climbed the tree and freed his boot and gracefully jumped off the branch. “You’re replacing this boot strap the first chance we get.” He comments as he walks past Dagoron not looking at him. He wandered over to the fire and sat on an old stump shaking his head. After a few minutes Thalion looks up at Bess and thanks her for saving his life. “Bessain, I owe you my life, thank you.”

Through Thalion’s lecture Dagoron just stood there with a stupid grin on his face. When he left he turned to the other dwarves of the group. "Well whad ye think o' the elf? He's reliable and can think quickly on his feet." The dwarf said as he looked over his comrades’ shoulders to the sulking Thalion. "Aye!" they all responded then shared a good laugh at the whole experience. Granite lay twisted in the undergrowth as he sputtered curses out at Dagoron and everyone else. "I ne'er agreed t' this!" he growled as he finally righted himself. He charged Dagoron but was intercepted by two dwarves who promptly sat on him to restrain him. "It was for the better o' the company, the elf had ter prove him, an' what better'n seein if he would rescue ye!" Dag explained. "He didn't carry ye down but e weren’t expectin the spider either so I s'pose this worked fine." "We all could have been killed!" Granite exclaimed as he struggled to get at Dagoron again. The attempt was futile. "Ye've nothin hurt but yer pride Granite, get up an' brush yerself off." he said simply then walked off to the fire where Thalion sat. Granite was able to get up and after he straightened his robes he stomped off to be by himself and entertain himself with ways of torturing Dagoron. At the fire where Thalion and Dagoron sat there was little communication. "I s'pose ye want to know why I did that." Dagoron started. "The other lads, they dun trust easily, but after what happened, they can count you as one o' their own." He chuckled. "We woulda helped ye if things got outta control. We wouldn't let Granite die or yerself I s'pose." The fire haired dwarf said.

“Oh; you wouldn’t have let us die, well that just makes this whole fiasco alright then doesn’t it. And what do you mean the other lads didn’t trust me? I’m an elf; need I say more…..
[/color]
“You mean there was a purpose to all this?” Thalion stares at Dagoron and then shifts his gaze to Bessain. “You’re involved with one of Dags schemes again? I should have figured that from the start. Not everyday you meet a troop of dwarves with an elf tramping through the Mirkwood. This gets more bazaar by the minute.” Thalion shakes his head but now his curiosity is getting the better of him and he wonders if he’s about to make a serious mistake. “Ok I’ll bite, what’s going on?”

((sorry 4 not posting earlier))
Dagoron started his story from his father's deathbed and ended right about the time they met up with Thalion. The fact that Thalion was an elf had made it hard for them to trust him without the approval of their now deceased leader. Apparently even the most stubborn race grieved over a lost friend, no matter how subtle they tried to be. So Dagoron had come up with a plan to allow the elf to prove himself to his dwarven troupe, even if Thalion hadn't had time to realize it.
Talk of riches and jewels had not impressed Bessain, so the little dwarf had to assume that all elves would have the same reaction. Instead of just dangling stories as he had done with his dwarven kin, Dagoron made a pitiful promise to use the money to replace Thalion's boot strap.
Bessain just shrugged anytime Thalion looked up at her to confirm the information he was being fed. She was really only there for the ride. Besides, you never knew what was going to happen when traveling with Dagoron. You could be headed to a certain area one day, then chased back in the opposite direction by any beast the dwarf manages to anger the next.
Thalion did not wish to enter Mirkwood, which was just fine since they needed someone to babysit the dwarves anyway. If ever there was a time that strange dwarves were allowed to walk straight into Mirkwood unhindered, Bessain could not remember it. She was sure that they would not be welcome. Facing her older brother alone would be preferrable, she could handle him. But she was not counting on freeing anyone from an elven prison, no matter how long she and Dag had been friends.

After Dagoron had finished explaining the reason why they were all out of their cozy mountain homes and on the road he leaned back in his seat and relaxed. Rummaging through his pack he took out a short pipe and a small package of dried leaves. After filling the pipe he took an ember from the fire and lit it then took a long drag on the pipe. By this time the other dwarves had come over and sat down with them, effectively completing the circle around the fire. Granite still looked disgruntled but he had managed to suppress the urge to attack Dagoron. He knew that many years later they would all look back and laugh at it. "Our next stop is Mirkwood, I s'pose we aint the best guests to them so we have ter stay back. Although I think I can chew me way outta their wooden cells." he elbowed the dwarf next to him as he said the last part. "Bess be sure t'tell yer brother that we send him regards." he said as he stared at the woman with his gray eyes. It was at this point that Bessain was the only women here and it made him wonder if he had been a tad discriminatory in selecting his troupe. He dismissed the fact that Bessain was more of a fragile man then a woman and that she could hold herself any time. Shrugging at his small revelations he went back to his pipe, "Anythin' else befer we pack camp?"
(It's short and pathetic, oh well.)

Thalion was intrigued by the plan as Dagoron laid it out though he had some misgivings.
“Dagoron, your plan will take you beyond the realm of the Woodland Elves. There orcs and other foul beasts wander freely and they may be the least of your worries if you chance to travel to close to the shadow of Dol Guldur. As for your kinsmen, I’m sure they are strong of heart and loyal to their leader but…from what I saw several of them don’t have much real combat experience. Your kinsmen are also unaccustomed to the woodlands and its hidden threats though having Bessain as your guide somewhat evens the odds. ” Thalion stands and walks over to his horse and stokes the animal’s long neck while slowly pondering what Dag has told him.
“You’re going to need more help. Not that I doubt Bessain or her skills for she is well known in woodland realm but there are simply to many of your company to watch over.” Thalion turned and faced Dagoron. “Getting to your cache, as you put it, will be difficult enough but returning from this quest will be twice the challenge. So with Bessain in the lead you’ll need someone to watch your back and I’ll see to that. You can have your riches if you manage to get them back to Erebor, and live to tell the tale. I go for the reasons of my own. Lets go.

Taking out a piece of parchment and ink, Bessain began to jot down all the elven supplies they'd need out of Mirkwood. Whenever a dwarf came up and demanded that she write 'ale' on the list, she did so. But as soon as they left her alone she'd quickly scratch it out. She set off as soon as they were done packing camp. ~~~~~~~ Bessain rode through the Mirkwood gates at a quick trot. The few guards that she had seen took one look at the symbol on the bandana that she had tied around her arm and let her pass. The bandana had been a welcome gift from her brother, incase she ever had need of him. Heading for the stables, she could already see Maethoron leading a stallion to it's stall, his back was to her. She stood in the doorway and watched him work for a few minutes.
"Mae Govannen, Brother." she paused for a second. "...or friend if 'brother' is still too strange a title for you."
Maethoron turned around, recognizing Bessain's voice. "Brother and friend will do... what, no hug?" He looked at Bessain, pretending to be hurt.
"No, no hug. Atleast, not until you fill out my list."
"List? Bess! You're only here to take my things?!"
"You thought I traveled halfway across Middle Earth to visit you?"
Maethoron sighed and muttered something inaudible to Bessain. "Bess you really need to settle down. Go find a nice ellon to nag every night."
"And have to share a bed? No thanks!"
That was probably the most childish thing ever to come out of his sister's mouth. But then again, she had probably meant it to sound that way. "Give me the damn list and leave already!"
Bessain chuckled and handed over the piece of paper. "Love you too Brother!" ~~~~~~~~ Later that afternoon, when Bessain had nearly everything she needed, the two siblings sat down to dine. Maethoron had hoped that his sister would trust him enough to tell him of her plight on her own free will. But once again, she disappointed him. Bessain was all about secrecy when it came to certain aspects of her life, even when secrecy was not needed. The silence between the two was not awkward. It was annoying. It seemed to scream how stubborn his sister was. Finally, he broke and had to ask. He hated curiosity. "Bess, where--"
"--Can't tell you." she cut him off and simply kept eating.
"I gave you a horse and a load of supplies fit for a small army and you can't give me anything but that?"
Why was this bothering him so much? She couldn't say. That should be enough! Atleast, thats what Bessain thought. "Just another job. My party is outside of the forest waiting for me. They would not be welcome here... Dag says hello by the way."
"Dag..." he sighed. Those two together was never a good thing. Knowing his sister, this was all he would get from her without force. He let the subject drop.
Bessain hugged her brother as promised and mounted up after the meal, taking care not to put pressure on the bulging saddlepacks. Maethoron had offered her his room for the night, but she had declined. "Be careful Bess," he warned before she rode off into the darkness and out of sight. They had made progress. This may have been the first time ever recorded that Bessain the Wanderer had ever stayed to say goodbye. He chuckled at the thought at went back inside.

After Bessain left the dwarves had some time to relax and do whatever they please. Naturally many of them resorted to sitting down with a frothy mug of ale. After they had gotten a few drinks down they became even more rowdy and started to tell outlandish stories about what they or their fathers had experienced. Some even went as far as to stand up and act out their stories as they told them; attacking the air with exaggerated thrusts and slashes. Soon enough the booze got the better of them and they argued over the credibility of the tales. Standing up, although groggily, they proceeded to flog each other with their fists and a stick or two if they could find one. Only a few bled and there were no broken bones. After they had settled down it was night and Granite was bandaging up those who needed it. "Always the same." he muttered as he moved on to the next dwarf who had a blissful look on his face and was unaware of the healer. (Very short and very pointless but I have to go, sorry about it.)

(OOC Yaaaa no more out of town trips.) ;D
Thalion rode well behind Bessain until the Mirkwood gates, still a league away, came into view. Here he turned aside from the well-trodden road and dismounted. He walked ten metres into the cool shade of the forest and allowed Aphen to graze freely on the sweet grass. He sat against a tree trunk from where he could watch the road.
“Well well what have we here?”
Thalion jumped to his feet grabbing his dagger.
“You must have nodded off, not a good idea outside of the gates Thalion." The elleth walks up Thalion eyeing him. "Aphen wandered onto the road, I recognised him right away”
Thalion stares at the elleth for a moment searching for words. “Lalaith… what are you doing out here?”
“What am I doing here?" She said looking at him with disapproval. “I would ask you the same but I spoke to Tómas yesterday and he told me of your decision. Don’t you think your being a little pig headed about all this? Go to your father and speak with him,.. he has changed since you left Thalion. The years without his sons have changed him”
“Oh pig headed am I now? Thalion said sliding his dagger back into it scabbard. “Well that’s all there’s to it then, I’m pig headed and my father is a new man. I think not. He was the one who held the dagger with my blood on it, not I. He made everything quite clear and I’m not willing to discuss it.” He replies heatedly.
“What about Maloren, does she not figure into this? She still waits on you.”
“Maloren wanted nothing to do with me, she made that clear. I was merely her means to get to Olorin. She had lofty dreams to wed far above her station and if she is still unwed it because no noble is fool enough to give her a second look.” Thalion walks up to Lalaith and takes Aphen reins and looks Maloren in the face. “I would take a hairy dwarven wife before I would look at her, you can tell her that if you like.” He mounts Aphen. “I won’t be returning for several years... if at all. I have joined a company and we leave for distant lands today.” He spots Bessain conveniently coming down the road with saddlebags bulging. “Good bye Maloren, I wish our meeting could have been on better terms. If we meet again it will be in foreign lands.” Thalion falls in beside Bessain and bows his head in a silent greeting knowing that Lalaith would surely speak of his new companion, and all he had said. He rides off never looking back.

Bessain rode past Lalaith, wondering why she deserved to be glared at. Glares were threatening. Bessain didn't like threats. She straightened up in the saddle bringing herself up as high as she could, glared right back and rode on. Perhaps Thalion had said something to get that elleth all worked up over Bessain's presence. It seemed unlikely since Thalion was not chuckling to himself. Thalion was quiet and his expression never changed, not even when they could no longer see Lalaith.
He obviously didn't want to talk, so Bessain didn't want to ask. Though she did have a few choice words for the elf they left on the side of the road.
When they finally found the dwarves, Granite seemed to be the only sober one. As was his job, he moved from dwarf to dwarf bandaging them up. Bessain thought that perhaps they had been attacked while she was gone. But no one was seriously hurt so she didn't care what their story was. Asking about it would just lead to a conversation with a drunken dwarf, she had no intention of doing that. Dag wasn't much better than the rest of them, so she waved and went off to busy herself with anything that didnt include being near a dwarf.
She took the suppiles from her saddle packs and distributed them evenly to all the other mounts. There was no point in making her horse do all the work. Bessain really hated going through the dwarves belongings like this trying to make room for everything. She felt like their mother packing their overnight bags. Bessain sighed at the thought and tossed a pair of boots at Thalion's head.

Instead of riding behind Bessain as before Thalion now rode beside Bessain but he was in no mood to talk. The condition of the dwarves when they arrived at camp was nothing new and it seemed that most of them were sleeping it off or simply passed out which meant they would stay out of the way for the time being. Thalion never really understood the dwarven need for excessive drinking for their ale did nothing for him. He had hoped for more from Dagoron now that he was the head of his clan.
Thalion took the supplies that Bessain had set aside for him to carry and was packing them into his saddle packs when a pair of boots struck his shoulder. He picked up the boots and was going to toss them back at Bessain when their noxious smell hit him. He cringed at the smell holding the boot at arm length and then looked at Dagoron. He took one of the boots and placed it on Dagoron’s chest right under the dwarf’s nose and gave him a nudge with his foot. “Dagoron, get up or we’ll leave you for the spiders to find.” He gave him another nudge and managed to get a grunt out of the dwarf. The second boot he tossed at Bessain. “I believe you miss placed this.” The boot hit her square in the back bringing a smile to the ellon’s face for the first time in weeks. He quickly looked away and commented. “If you’ve got that lot sorted how about giving me a hand getting this lot on their feet?’” Granite sat back and smiled. “Good luck ladde.” Was his only comment.

((Hey Hey Hey I'm here at last....)))
Siriel the half- elf was being carried wearily by her horse through the dense forest of Mirkwood. She sat slumped in the saddle, the result of many nights without rest. It was another one of her searches failed, and now she was only trying to get out of the stuffy forest as quickly as she could unnoticed. At the begginning of her search, she had set out with not nearly enough supplies to sustain herself for the two month period she allowed herself to scour the northern section of Mirkwood and the hills immediately beyond.
I'm an elf, she thought. I can handle it.
Siriel did realize that she could have headed to Mirkwood palace much earlier in her trip, but was reluctant to go. Sure, she had a couple of friends among the elves, namely Rinben and his sister Bessain, but she still felt uncomfortable surrounded by elves. Walking into one of their domains made her feel like an intruder, and more human than ever.
But a day past she had been forced to defend herself against a mob of oversized spiders, and had been fleeing them ever since. Tired of running and desperately needing food and rest, she was on her way towards the palace now.
Khaz, her buckskin horse, sensed that they were not alone before Siriel could. He stopped short and turned his head around to glance at his rider in the saddle. Siriel gave him a loving pat and proceeded on foot. No telling what kind of people she might meet, and if it was a Mirkwood gaurd, she wanted to avoid trouble.
As soon as she got within sight, she noticed it was a male and female elf.....and one was Bessain! She nearly jumped for happiness when she saw her old friend.
"Oi! Bess!!!" she called out when she was a mere 20 yards from the two.

Dagoron grumbled, his mind drifting on the edge of consciousness as he was slowly roused from sleep. In the corner of his mind his mind started to process thoughts. How long was I out fer? His conscious had a watery sound to it, it might have been from the drinks. Is it light out? The voice was more substantial now, enough to as where someone might understand it if it were spoken and not thought. "what’s that smell?" he grumbled as he finally was awake enough to detect a musky odor. He tried to swipe the smell from his nose and hit the offending object. "What the-" he said, suddenly awake. Picking up the boot he took another smell of it, just to make sure. It was defiantly the odor that helped rouse him from slumber. Swinging the boot over his head like a sling he loosed it and watched it fly over at Bessain. It hit her and he threw a fist into the air in triumph. "Now to wake the lads." he said as he ran a hand through his fiery beard. "Lads orcs!" he suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs. Almost all of them shook immediately awake, grabbing at weapons. Even the elves had scrambled for their weapons. The only one not worrying was Dagoron. The dwarf was crumpled on the ground howling with laughter. "It woke 'em up didn't it?" he called to the elves as he slapped his knee and laughed again. "Not ter get on the r-" "Oi Bessain!" the feminine voice rang out across the camp. "Well I'll be the son of an orc." he said as he scratched the top of his head. Trotting over to the lass he planted his meaty hands on his hips. "Well look whose ere, the lost lass." he said with a wink as he looked her over. "You dun look so good."

((out of convenience to us both, this shall be a joint post.))
Thalion had a reason to hit Bessain with the boot, but dag did not. The hypocritical she-elf had a strange thrist for revenge. As the half drunken dwarf walked by, she stuck out her foot and let him fall flat on his face.
Satisfied, the elleth turned to greet her friend. "Hello Siriel," she said with a grin, still rather proud of herself for tripping Dagoron. Bessain noted how tired her peredhil friend looked but didnt say anything, Dag had insulted her enough.
~~~
Siriel slightly balked at the dwarf's comment. "Likewise..." she said. But then again, Dagoron didn't look any different than he ever did, exactly the same as she had seen him last. She decided against pointing this out. She greeted Bessain with a tired smile and ignored the other elf.
"I probably wouldn't have come if I knew you had a whole band of dwarves with you. Are you guys going to invade Mirkwood or something? Really, I'm surprised that all of you have moved this far into the forest unscathed."
They were probably thinking, she thought to herself, why I'm here in the first place and questioning their motives.
Their questioning looks only encouraged her to tell a part of her story, but the strange elf by Bessain's side had her concerned. She was not accostomed to speaking to strangers openly, and took a moment to look him over. He looked troubled and slightly bitter.
"As for myself, I am not lost. I just...." she blushed. "I underestimated how long I would be staying in the forest. I also had a nasty run- in with a few spiders..."
She thought it better to say no more about the reasons why she was here, or to whom she was looking forward to meeting in Mirkwood.
"What about you? It's not every day something important enough comes up to draw a dwarf into a forest like this. It's been a while since I've seen you two. Whenever you guys are traveling together, you usually get into plenty of trouble, wherever you are going."
(Just how long can this writers block last? beats head on desk and screams. ) With his sword drawn Thalion spun around and glared at Dagoron for a moment though he quickly forgot him and the other dwarves when he saw a somewhat bedraggled, but good looking elleth ride into camp. Bessain seemed to know the elleth well, which surprised him somehow because of her reputation to distance herself from others. He listened to the elleths tale taking a greater interest when she mentioned her troubles with the spiders. He gave Bessain a quick glance when the elleth asked about their intended destination and then stepped forward. “We go east.” Thalion replied surprising himself with his actions. “Forgive me, I’m Thalion.” He said with a smile. “Spiders, sounds like you’ve had a rough few days and could use a bit of a break and a meal. Well Bessain has just returned with supplies and I would be happy to prepare something for you. The kitchen’s pretty basic but the food’s hot and much better than dwarven fair. I’d be happy to fix you something Bessain since it looks as though the dwarves have seen to their own needs?” He said as he looked around at bits of dwarven tack and a few bones lying about. Two of the younger dwarves had come up behind him and were staring at the elleth making comments and sniggering in their own tongue. Thalion turned and crouched down to their level. “Get lost” He said forcefully to make it clear they were to clear off.
Bessain gave an angry snort after hearing news of Siriel's spider problems. She could be a little protective at times of the few friends she did keep and didn't like to hear about troubles she couldn't fix for them. Despite the fact that she was not around to fix them. But what was done was done and Siriel seemed to be in one piece. The least they could do was feed the poor elleth. Bessain lamented the fact that they would now have to unpack everything again, especially since she had already eaten with her brother, but she smiled politely and dismounted.
Thalion could throw his little tea party for Siriel if he wanted. It would save Bessain the trouble of cooking anyway, but she wondered if it would be better to move their camp. The spot they were at now would be harder to defend.
(yea, ur not the only one stuck. Just be glad I didnt stop in mid sentence.)
((good looking?? this is my character blushing ---> )) Siriel gave no notice to Bessain's snort. She was too preocupied with Thalion's offer to feed her, and Bessain. Besides the fact that cooked food sounded so heavenly after weeks without anything but what she could find in Mirkwood. Unfortunately, she had wanted to talk with Bessain a little about what was going on (and why there were so many dwarves... ) but it did not seem terribly urgent buisness. Absently watching Thalion prepare some food gave Siriel a welcome distraction from the dwarves. She wondered dimly why a strange elf would act this kindly towards her. Maybe I'm the one who's strange for not being friendly more often... she thought. After a while of feeling guilty, she spoke to him. "Sorry. I haven't introduced myself... My name is Siriel. I'm an old friend of Bessain and Dagoron. And if you don't mind me asking, who are you?"
Thalion dug out a seldom used pan added water and put together several items from Bessain pack, herds and dried meat from his and watched as the blend slowly came together.
Thalion paused. “Siriel” he repeated softly. “Tasarinan, The Willow-Vale of Siriel, an ancient place of beauty,.. the name suits you.” He commented as he looked up at her. “The names Thalion and I’m nothing more than a distant friend of Bessain and Dagoron.” He continued. “I’ve been in Dorwinion and East of Rhûn for the last six years.” He finished the dish he had made and handed Siriel the pan by its handle along with a fork. “I only got back a few days ago and I planned to go to the Mithlond region, but as fate would have it I ran into Bessain and Dagoron along the way and, here I am.” Thalion picks up the water bag he for cooking and douses the fire. “You’ve had quite a time of it the last few weeks with the spiders and all. We had our own spider event thanks to Dagoron and one of his insane ideas.” He glares at the dwarf standing close by. “Your skills with your bow and sword must be excellent for them to have fallen back. If you don’t mind me asking just how far back did you loose them? If they find themselves up against a strong foe they will trail them for days waiting for the right moment, they could well be watching us now, but we’ll be to many for them if they are even out there.”
