Katy knew by the age of ten that there was more to life, something she didn’t understand, something just out of her reach. Then two years ago, when she was fifteen, something happen that rocked the human world. Something that only the oldest of tales, folk lore and mysticism spoke of, but it did not rock her world, for her, it was a confirmation.
That day five beings walked out of a mist to prearranged modern news conference. There was a Demon, in its human form, a fairy and pixie, a human of the ancient druid race and an elf. At first it was all taken as an elaborate hoax but within a matter of months the truth was known. The shores of Lake Avalon were besieged by people hoping to catch a glimpse of this other world but to see it required a sight one was born with and not one conjured up in the mind as some claimed. These lake folk, as they were now called, were not just of a different race but each also had special gifts that set them apart, even in their own realm. In time, humans being as they are, tried to coax the five into this or that project and even to aid in wars that the humans fought amongst themselves for power and riches. The five had become ten and then the ten rose to be fifty. The refusal to bow to human pressures caused some in high places to begin to resent the lake folk and that resentment grew. Some of the lake folk went missing, others were attacked and beaten and when it was learnt that there were a few of the humans race discovering powers of their own, the distrust grew. The lake folk, as they were now called by the humans, vanished. They retreated back to their own land giving up for on further contact with their human cousins for now.
In this realm there is a unique school. This school teaches all those who come how to develop and use their unique powerful gifts. But even in this realm those with the gifts are few. The school was situated on the shore of Avalon Lake and had extensive lush grounds. A dock reached out into the lake and on either side boats were moored. This dock was where all new comers from the human world were welcomed, but these boats were also the only way into, and out of, Avalon. No other way existed to pass through the dimensional portal of mists. For nearly a year humans would gather in ever smaller numbers by the lake shore hoping for a glimpse of the lands beyond the mist. But that glimpse never came and one day a note was found pinned to a holly tree informing the world that the lake folk would not be returning. ......................
Katy, shortly before her 18th birthday, found she could no longer suppress the calling within her. With her parents gone for the evening she took a few belonging and set out for Avalon Lake. She knew her parents would immediately suspect where she was going since Katy had been a strong supporter of the lake folk and openly wept when the note saying that they would not be returning was found and announce to the world. She made her way to the lake in three days avoiding the main roads, traveling mostly on foot at night. She was forced to stay out of sight for another week while she waited for the police in this area to stop looking for her along the lake shore. Standing on shore Katy sensed that she was not alone. There was a young man there also but he spoke little English. She felt an immediate connection between them and was certain that he was here for the same reasons. As the sun rose they both watched the lake hoping beyond hope. Then they saw it, and the mists began to roll in. ..............
Professor Aquilla Nénharma was looking down on the lake from his office window when an excited fairy fluttered in. Both she and the Professor shared a telepathic connection and both were aware that there were two people on the further shore “Who are you sending across this time Professor?” she asked. “You my dear. I’ll be at the dock waiting with the Headmaster.” ....................
The air seemed to soften and warm as the mist rolled in. Katy and the young man watched as the boat bumped softly against the shore line. Then to their astonishment a fairy flew up to them.

The thrill and freedom bought on by the journey across the lake was indescribable. The sunrise was now in it’s full glory and sparkled elegantly across the water, shining in red and pinks. Taeras’ clean peel of laughter broke the cool silence of the morning as the two figures slowly came into view on the shore of the mist-shrouded lake. Astonishment was etched all over their faces as Taera finally came into full view. As she landed gracefully a few feet away from the shore, she entered the mind of the girl, who was now staring wide eyed at Taera’s massive black wings.
Now don’t tell me you’ve never seen a faerii before!
The girls eyes widened even further and Taera laughed. “Welcome, friends, to Avalon lake! Home of the school of Amdir, and now, your home as well.” She walked upon the shore of the lake, stopping at the dock. “I can see easily enough that you’re a human,” Taera said, “but you… what is your true form?” she nodded towards boy. He answered in a rough and totally alien language, and although Taera understood nothing of what he just said, she recognised his tongue. “Ah… I see we have a demon in our midst…” She looked back at the girl and chuckled to see her face had paled slightly, “I’d take it that you two didn’t exchange many words while you waited.”
Turning her wings to the new students, she looked toward the boats moored at the dock. She raised a hand with her palm facing the one of the boats and the rope binding it to the dock untied itself, coiling into a neat pile.
“This way to home.” the faerii smiled, as the human and demon climbed awkwardly into the boat. Almost right as she sat down, Taera could feel Professor Nénharma using his telekinetic ability to move the boat to the school.
The mist gradually engulfed them totally, and became so thick you couldn’t see the person sitting beside you. Without warning, it ended like emerging from a wall and the glory of the sunrise was known again. Two elves could be seen ahead, waiting patiently on the docks for the new arrivals.

There were students scattered on the hillside beside the lake. Two people arriving from the human realm was certainly worthy of having a look. The boat gently nudged itself in beside the dock and stopped. Two students from the school ran forward onto the dock and fastened the ropes to the dock cleats. The boats passengers had few personal belongings which was of no matter, all they needed would be provided. Aquilla and the Headmaster stepped forward to welcome the new arrivals. They bowed as the two new comers stepped onto the wharf.
“Katy Whelan and Auzidor Dionysus, I welcome you to the School of Amdir. This is Headmaster Glawar and I am Professor Nénharma. I know you both have many questions and they will all be answered. For now we would like to get you settled in and accustom to your new home. Taera will take you to the school and to your dorms. From there you may explore every facet of the school if you wish to. I will meet with you each after the midday meal and there you may ask as many questions as you wish.”
Taera lead the way to the school and as they walked up the hill they were greeted by fellow students. Arrivals from the human world had become rare and were note worthy. The Headmaster and the Professor watched as the new arrivals made their way up the hill and were joined by others.
“It has been long since we have seen one from her lineage. It is a regretable that the gifts became something to fear and hide. Her ancestors were powerful; let us hope that her power has not diminished because of it.” The Headmaster commented.
“I think not my lord.” Prof. Nénharma commented. “I sense a great deal of strength in her but I also sense a fear of it. She will need to come to terms with herself before she will be able to fully draw on it. Her obstacles’ are of her own creation. Though her heeding the call was a strong first step. The young demon has his own barriers to overcome, but so do most demons when they arrive.”

Zarich watched the boat ride into the dock from the shade of a large tree. While somewhat far away, he could sense the infernal blood in one of the new students. A smirk crossed his lips as the thought of another demon in the school played across his thoughts. "I always said that they need more of us." He said lightly as he stood up and dusted his pants off. "Time to greet the fresh meat." the demon whispered as he made his way down the hill.
"Taera!" he shouted as he recognized their guide. "Taking the pets out for a walk I see?" He was in a particular good mood, for whatever reason, and his tone took on a jovial side. "I see the Pits have spewed another of the finer races into the school." He turned to the rather timid looking demon. Zarich spoke something in their native tongue that seemed to perk the other demon's spirits up a little before giving him a swat on the arm. "How long do you think it will take him to learn to speak and understand so that all may socialize with him? A poor occurrence that he has to be so alone during his transition period. Who do you think will be saddled with him to translate everything till he gets a hang of it all?"
"Your tongue seems to have mastered the English language, Zarich. Maybe you should be the one to help him learn it too." The headmaster said calmly from behind the group of students. Zarich whipped around and stuttered a few half formed replies in a momentary lapse of control. The headmaster just stared at him.
"Alright I'll do it, I choose to do it, you aren't making me." He said with a defiant voice. "I suppose you’re stuck with me for a while...what did you say your name was?" He asked the other demon in their native tongue.
"Auzidor Dionysus." he said lightly.
"Great. Wonderful name. I go by Zarich Oriax myself." After their little introduction Zarich caught a hint of a smile on Auzidor's face. He smirked himself then. Somehow, he thought, this was going to be a long partnership.

A quick flick of his wrist sent the shoulder strap of Auzidor's luggage falling lightly over his back. The movement was effortless as the young demon did not own much. He offered a polite smile to anyone who approached him and followed in Zarich and Taera's wake, Katy walking next to him.
"How long have you been here?" he asked Zarich in a low guttural growl of the demonic language.
Auzidor didn't really care to know the answer, but there was a temporary silence in the group that bothered him. Zarich talked a lot. Most demons that Auzidor knew always carried around a kind of confidence that bordered arrogance. But Zarich was a little over the top. It was not such a bad thing. Auzidor found it kind of exciting. Here was a boy the foreign student could act his age with. It was indeed a comforting thought.
The group passed through various hallways and climbed several staircases before arriving at the dorms. Anything Taera said on their little journey had to be translated directly through Zarich. Much of what came through Zarich obviously had his own little twist to it.
"The dormitories are separated among the sexes that divide down two separate hallways," said Taera, pointing to the forking pedestrian intersection.
"Your room splits off and is far away from the ladies dorms. Don't worry though, it doesn't stop us from living a perfectly good... co-ed existence." Zarich finished with a wink.
Auzidor just shook his head.
Taera took Katy to see her room and Zarich herded Auzidor toward his. The foreignor waved a quick goodbye as Zarich dragged him away from the two ladies.
As Zarich had been attending this strange school for sometime, he already had a roommate. Auzidor had to settle with sharing a space with an elf. Not that there was anything wrong with that. But the language barrier was already getting annoying and he hadn't even been docked an hour.
Zarich stopped and explained the situation to Auzidor's roomate and introduced the two.
Auzidor interrupted Zarich in the middle of the translation.
"...Oh," said Zarich. "He says you can call him Auzzy."
Auzidor, being curious by nature, shook hands with the elf, threw his little sack of belonging on his bed, examined the room for a minute and then walked out the door wanting to see more of the school. He could hear Zarich's cry of surprise as Auzidor seemed to be there for one minute and somewhere else the next.
His demon buddy could tag along if he liked. It didn't matter who was with him. Auzidor wanted to go exploring... and he meant now.

Ithron watched from the window as the boat carrying the two passengers arrived. He was a little disappointed to see a human girl and a demon, he’d hoped a human male would return but it was not to be. When the welcome was done he turned from the window somewhat indifferent and sat down doing one of his mediocre practise sessions with a jug; moving back and forth on the table and not letting fall off the edge. He wanted to get out but that posed a problem, his uncle, Professor Nénharma. The two of them had an unusually strong telepathic connection, even for elves. It was believed that since they were so closely related and gifted in telepathy that the connection between them was elevated. Ithron sat moving the stupid jug around the edge of the table debating whether or not he should let the jug fall and see if he could prevent it from hitting the floor, something he was forbidden to do because of the “yet uncontrolled nature of his telekinesis”. Phhh.
He heard voices and footsteps getting closer and as he stood Zarich walked in with the new demon in tow. He was taken aback when the demon boy shook his hand and tossed his bag on the other bed and headed out the door. He looked at his hand and wondered what this strange action ment.
“Zarich wait, what’s this? He’s in here? Wouldn’t he be better with you?”
“My rooms full and the Professor chose your new roomy. Oh he doesn’t speak any of the human tongues.” Zarich replied as he darted out of the room.
“What!” Ithron shouted as he ran after them.

Auzidor paused for a moment to allow Zarich and the elf to catch up. Ithron's tone seemed bitterly confused about something, but it didn't sound like anything a good friendly punch to the nose couldn't fix. Random scuffles were common place between demons and often the start of most friendships. The fact that elves were known to be slightly feminine by practice stayed Auzidor's hand. He shrugged in indifference and continued on his way.
"Whats with him?" he asked Zarich, when Ithron's grumpy babbling would not cease.
"He's not used to sharing. Don't worry about it. He's just a hermit who needs to learn to be friendly." Zarich replied with a roll of his eyes.
"Friendly?" Auzidor whispered, looking down at his fists and taking a step forward.
"Ithron, get over it! You can't... Auzidor, don't! Elves are... Just deal!" Zarich found himself stuck between the two conversations and he was forced to switch between demon and the common tongue faster than he could think.
The new demon stood and faced Ithron. He couldn't speak his language, but violence was always a universal tongue. They looked at each other for a moment before a playful grin spead across Auzidor's face. He snorted flames mischievously and punched Ithron in the face.

(ooc not the greatest but we wanted to post cause we is leaving for a few days.) Compliments of Alex and Gwyddion
Ithron took a step back and for a split second he didn’t know exactly what had happened. A bizarre feeling ran through his body, his skin crawled but then he was filled with a rage, a rage that seemed to come out of nowhere.
“BAW!” (no!!) He shouted in elvish. He swept his arm up in front himself and, in his rage, produced the shield charm. The charm was powerful enough to force everyone against the walls and those standing by the door were forced out and the door slammed shut. “Le al-theli negro raug Dornhoth!” (You will not harm me demon Thrawn folk!) He shouted at Auzidor.
Taera went to stand between them but Ithron pushed her away with his telekinesis. He had never in all his years tasted the full power of his gifts. For the first time in his long life the frustration and the feelings of inadequacy were dispelled. He felt more alive than ever before. He could taste the energy and where it came from he didn’t care.
Never before had Taera experienced for herself what it felt like to be manipulated by a form of telekinesis at such power. She found herself totally flabbergasted that Ithron had powers of this magnitude. His powers were never really prominent like that of Professor Nénharma, his uncle. She tried to connect with Ithron telepathically, but found a rock hard barrier surrounding his mind, preventing anyone from getting in. In desperation, she contacted the only other person that came to mind right away.
Professor, you’ve got to come now!! Auzidor attacked Ithron and Ithron made some kind of energy shield that blasted everyone backwards!! His mind is totally blocked off, it’s like it’s not him.
Professor Nénharma’s reply was swift and clear. Do whatever you must Taera, to prevent harm from coming to anyone. Help is on its way. Don’t worry Taera, it’s been expected.
Would he turn against me?
No.
Taera’s attention turned back to the fight and the growing number of students that had gathered at the now open door to watch.
“Get up! Or do I have to lift you?” Ithron shouted at Auzidor.
“ENOUGH!!” Taera screamed. “ENOUGH Ithron. Use your reasoning.”
Ithron made a lunge at Auzidor who was standing again and seemed to relish the idea of continuing the scrap. Ithron jumped and spun, he was clearly trying to kick Auzidor in the head but it didn’t happen. Two elves had entered the room and unceremoniously grabbed him in mid spin. Ithron was furious and completely out of control. He shouted insults in elvish and did his best to pull away from them. The two ellons had an iron grip on him and literally dragged him out of the room kicking and screaming at the top of his lungs. Ithron’s shouts died out quickly. There was by many complete disbelief in what had just happened. The last thing anyone expected from an elf was an outburst of uncontrolled anger.
What the hell just happened? Taera thought in utter disbelief. All around her the students that had gathered began to dissipate while discussing what had just occurred. This would be the talk of the school for days to come.
In his rage, Ithron had created some kind of mental barrier not to mention the energy field. It struck Taera a little odd the professor had used the words “it’s been expected”. What did he mean? And where had those two elves dragged Ithron off to? She wanted answers, and now.
Taera stretched her mind out across the grounds, searching for Professor Nénharma, and all the while sensing the emotions and thoughts of others. Many thoughts regarded what just happened. She sensed excitement in some, and in others fear. It was hard not to linger on certain thoughts about her friend; how perceptions of him had been so drastically changed in some. At last her search ended and she was finally able to pose her thoughts.
Could you please tell me what just happened?
Ithron will be leaving us for a few days Taera. He has entered into a rite of passage all elves, even ellons to some degree, go through. In ancient days, before we had peace with the demons, he would be taken into battle or a raiding party. There he would learn how to direct his anger and from that point onward he would be taught how to control it. The demon boy striking him was the trigger that started the process. Ithron is passing into manhood and he is going to a place we call Olórë Nomë. I warn you now that there will be noticeable changes in him. He will be fine, don’t worry.
Changes... What kind of changes? He’ll still be... you know... he’ll still know who I am and we’ll be friends and nothing will change in that sense right? Taera said almost desperately.
Don’t worry Taera, he will still know his friends and have his memories. But you may very well see a change in his mannerism and quite possibly in his features. Those are the most common changes.

Zarich watched as the temper mental elf was dragged down the hall and off out of view. After a few tense seconds of silence, the demon harrumphed then sighed dramatically. "Well I knew it would happen. That one was always a little off in his own little world. I should have put down some money that he would crack like this. It's a shame really. Someone should profit from this."
Taera, and some of the less lowly people there gave him a rather cold stare. Zarich rolled his eyes at them all and gave a dismissive wave as he walked out of the room. "Come my pet!" he called after Auzidor then beckoned him with a wave and some infernal speech. The new bow promptly trotted off after him.
"Hold it!" Taera called after them. Zarich sighed and looked over his shoulder.
"What? I'm terribly busy. Open your mouth, words come out. It's called talking, do it quickly." She stared at him, an anger flaring in her eyes. "Alright, yes, I know. I'm quite an insensitive jerk, sorry. Can we hurry this along?"
"He's not going anywhere; it's his fault that Ithron has been taken away! He has to make it right, apologize, something!"
"Oh come now, we all know that Ithron was a cracked egg. Who's to say my feisty little friend here is what set him off. It probably saved the elf from dying of an aneurism in his brain from keeping it all bottled up inside. Why frankly my dear, we should actually all thank him. He quite possibly saved poor Ithron's life." Through all this Auzidor stared blackly between the two of them whenever words were exchanged. Zarich glanced at him then quickly said. "She's overcome with gratitude that you could help Ithron like that. She says that you're quite a catch and that she may just become infatuated with you if you keep it up." He gave him an over exaggerated wink then slapped him in the arm.
"I'm sorry my dear, he can't much answer for anything right now. He’s still got a lot of adjusting to do." He glanced at his wrist, which was bereft of a watch. "Oh look at the time, we really must be going. There’s so much more to see. Isn't it just exciting being at a new place?" his last sentence was directed at Auzidor, who was still wearing a semi blank look on his face. Zarich let out a sigh. "Just come along, will you." He said with light distain as he walked away, waiving the other demon along.

Alex & Gwyddion.
***
For the duration of the fight, Katy had stood, dumbfounded that something this dramatic had happened on the first day she was at the school. She paled at the thought of how helpless she would have been had the demon – Auzidor, attacked her while the two of them waited on the shores of Avalon Lake.
***
Raw, untamed rage ripped through Taera as the two demons walked off.
“I’m not finished yet…” she said under her breath, spreading her magnificent wings and darting down the corridor after them. Heavily, she landed a foot in front of Zarich, staring directly into his fiery eyes and trapping his body in a telekinetic seal while blocking the hallway with her wings. She didn’t notice that Katy had followed her and had noticed Zarich’s body go rigid.
He WILL right this when Ithron returns!! Taera said to him mentally, having trouble not screaming it out. Unless of course you would like me to have MY way with your new… minion… she said bitterly, tightening her mental grip on his body. As the demon gasped for breath, she felt her powers fading, and she lost her grip on them totally. Steadily as she could, she turned and walked away, gasping for breath herself while her vision was consumed by colourful dots. Katy followed behind her, not daring to look back at the two demons as she passed them.
Shit! I’ve over done it again. Taera thought as she collapsed again a wall for support. At least Zarich and Auzidor were out of sight.
“Oh my God! Taera!” she heard what sounded like a distant voice say. Slowly, Katy came into sight with wide eyes.
“I’ll be fine.” she said shakily between breaths. “I just went over my boundaries. I can’t hold on to the power very long until it starts weighing me down.” she sighed. “Let’s just get out of here before Zarich and Auzidor come back down the hall. You can dorm with me.”
After a long, slow walk to the girls dorms, Taera passed out on her bed for a good long nap. Katy, rather unsure of what to do, decided to explore the school grounds by herself. She marvelled at the size of the student population and the lush forest that hugged the building. She couldn’t quite wrap her head around the fact that this was her new home. As Katy wandered about the grounds she noticed that the dorms and classes to which she had been shown to her were quite separate from the rest of the school. As she walked about she very distinctly felt as though she was being watched. She turned as a group of students walked past her and her feelings were confirmed. She also noticed a distinct lack of humans in this realm.
Katie sat and stared out at the lake. On this side it seemed like a vast body of water whereas the human, or English side, it was a small body of water popular with the locals and tourists would come seeking the mythical Avalon of ancient lore; not so mythical anymore for Katy.
Katy felt overwhelmed by it all and would have liked someone to talk to, a friendly face now that Taera was unavailable, and not knowing just how long faeries slept; it could be hours, days or weeks as far as she knew.
“Hello.” A small pixie fluttered down startling Katy. “You wanted someone to talk to, will I do? I’ve never spoken to a human. There hasn’t been one here for ages and it’s always those stodgy prim and proper elves or demons. They’re all sooo boring. I see you’re in the high dorm. It has a proper name but I never remember it. You must be a powerful sorceress to be up there. I’ve never been in there, what’s it like? Oh I’m Vespera. I’m a Pixie and I’m only 75 years old. My elf Professor says I should act my age so I asked him how a 75-year-old pixie should act, and he didn’t know. I asked him how 75-year-old elves act and he said better than I do and then he dismissed me. Stodgy and boring those elves are. What’s your human name? You do have one don’t you or have they taken it away and given you your new name? You know the name you get will show your power and make you even more powerful, but you likely know all that already. Ahh it’s so nice to have a girl human. So what is your name or names? Names confuse me.”
Katy blinked a few times, opened mouthed before she even thought to answer. The pixie looked at her wonderingly as she shy said, “I go by Katy, and I’ve only just arrived at this school. You’re seventy-five? Wow! I’m only eighteen!”
“You’re only eighteen!?” exclaimed the pixie. “Wow! Eighteen and you can already walk and talk! Humans are a really interesting race, don’t you think? I mean, they age so quickly, and then like that, they die! Anyways, weren’t you going to tell me about those lovely high dorms? Oh! And what kind of powers do you have to get a dorm up there? And are there still more than one person in a dorm or do you get a dorm all to yourself? I wish I had my own dorm. But no, the teachers forced me, that’s right, forced me to dorm with this stuck up faeri, who never stops to breath she talks so much!”
Katy at this last remark found it hard to suppress her fits of giggles.
“Well I haven’t seen any of the normal dorms yet, so I can’t really compare the two. But the students in the high dorms share with other students; I’m sharing with a faeri also, her name is Taera. Do you know her?”
“Taera…Taera… Oh, yes! I think I know who you’re talking about! Red hair, black wings? Yeah, I hear she has anger issues.”
“Oh…” This had caught Katy off guard. “Well, I suppose I have yet to find out?” she said in an unsure tone.
“I suppose!” Vespera said cheerily.
For what felt like hours, the little blue haired pixie talked on about herself and the school, asking so many questions Katy felt her head would explode. She only ever dared try and answer one when Vespera paused for breath. Eventually, she managed to get away from the constant droning on of the pixie and continued to explore the school grounds, not realising just how many eyes followed her as she did so.

Ithron had been away over a month and his uncle, Professor Nénharma, had also been absent for much of this time. No one but the elves and Taera understood why the Professor was also absent.
The day dawned grey and damp from the night’s rain. Clouds of mist rose into the air and seemed to cling onto the tops of the trees. Everything had been refreshed and the morning air was clear and the moss underfoot was soft. Ithron and his uncle walked silently through the forest, their footsteps unheard by any of the animals. During this walk Ithron found himself much more aware of his surroundings, as though he was a part of the forest. Little was said between Ithron and his uncle during the day’s walk and it was late afternoon before they looked upon the school and paused.
“I have missed this place. I know every detail of my life here yet I now feel as a stranger that has set his eyes upon it for the first time....”
“I’ve heard the like said before.” Professor Nénharma replied. “Feeling somewhat disassociated is not uncommon. There are many things you would have thought common and uninteresting that now will have new meanings and relevance. You will now see all things in a different light and from it you will learn nothing is insignificant.”
Ithron was quiet for a moment as if considering his next words. This in itself was something quite out of the ordinary for him.
“You took on the duties of my father and neglected your own. I remember the pain all too well and you being there, but not much else. Thank you...it must have been difficult for you at times but you stood by me, all through Abonnen. You are now to me as my father and my lord.”
“I would be honoured to be your father, but that honour still belongs my bother.” The Professor replied. “I know he would have been as proud of you as am. You carry the staff and wear the robes of the Istar now and you will be taught the ways of the Istar. The Headmaster and I will now give you your lessons for there is still much of the order you need to understand. But for now go and find Taera, she has been very worried about you.”
Ithron returned to the school grounds and knew he stood out like a beacon dressed in his new white robes and carrying a staff. The other races stared but elven students docked their heads as he passed them. Formality was all well and good but he couldn’t wait to change out of the white robes into his own. A fear gripped him as he wondered if he had any robes that would still fit him; he was now just over a full hand taller. When he arrived at his room to his utter relief he found new robes neatly folded on his bed. They were not as plain as his former robes but they weren’t white, and right now that was all that mattered. Once he’d changed he looked in the mirror and for the first time clearly saw the change in him. He touched his face and looked at his hair which now was even lighter if that was possible. More than anything he needed to find Taera and find out what had been happening at the school. He also needed to finalize his revenge on the new demon Auzidor. He hadn’t forgotten his first meeting with him and by the looks of the other bed he was still rooming with him. He’d had a great idea but first he must see Taera, he called to her and told her he was in his room.
Taera had been waiting for Ithron’s arrival for days and wasted no time getting to his dorm room. She reached up to knock but the door swung open on its own.
“Come in Taera.” Said a voice she was not familiar with. Her first steps into the room were cautious ones and then she saw an elf sitting on Ithron’s bed. She gasped and flew up onto the bed facing the elf.
“No...No way...Ithron...is that really you?” Taera whispered, stunned.
“Yes Taera it’s me. Please don’t sound so shocked.” Ithron gave her a big smile.
Taera stood up briefly, and looked the elf over. She would never have believed it was him had she not recognised his presence. Slowly taking her seat again, she forced out all she could say.
“...What...What happened to you?”
“Truthfully, rather a lot has happened. Between elves sixth and seven hundredth year there are changes that occur in our bodies, minds and appearance. It’s a right, called Abonnen, all males go through, and there’s nothing we can do about it. It’s because of the sudden manifestation, like what happened to me, that there are no younger elves here. It basically moves us into manhood. Thankfully we don’t remember much of it except for the pain. That’s about all I can tell you, and no elf will tell you more. But I’m still me. So what’s been happening here? What’s that bastard demon who hit me been up too?”
Taera let out a chuckle of relief, Still the same Ithron. she thought.
“Well, not much has happened. Do you remember the other girl I was showing around? Well her name is Katy and she’s been having visions and strange dreams. She’s always talking in her sleep and some nights she almost doesn’t stop tossing and turning. We’ve basically been waiting for you and your uncle to return in hope that we might get some answers. The first week or so, I was showing Katy where everything was, but she’s pretty settled in now. I think you’ll like her.”
Taera paused for a moment, trying to recount what happened over the past four weeks.
“After those elves carried you off, I talked to Zarich, since Auzidor didn’t speak much English at the time. Oh yes, he’s picking up the common tongue. Zarich still translates most of the conversations for him, but there are a few things he picked up on pretty fast. Anyways, let’s just say I’m not on great terms with either of them at the moment. My anger got the best of me again and I threatened to have my way with Auzidor if he didn’t fix things between you when you got back.” Taera smirked as she said this.
“Fix things, eh? Well I haven’t forgotten what happened and I’ve got a plan. Been thinking about it for a few days and I decided to mess with his mind. Watch this.”
Ithron picked up his staff and turned his attention to Auzidor’s bed. With nothing more than a look of concentration Ithron managed to raise the bed off the floor a good twelve inches and then allowed it to drop to the floor. He then raised the bed and slowly spun it so that the head and foot end had switched places. He then, again, allowed the bed to drop to the floor.
“We’re going have to share this room afterward so I thought nothing physical might be best. What do you think?”
Taera absolutely grinned.
“That’s bloody brilliant. At some point, put his bed in the hallway and lock the door. Hey, why the staff?”
“Ah, I’m an Istar and this is my staff. I received my robes and staff three days ago. I’m not sure it’s sunk in yet. To be honest, I don’t know what to do or what’s expected of me now. Professor Nénharma said that he and the headmaster would be giving me my lessons now. I really don’t want things to change but I guess change is inevitable now.” Ithron hopped off the bed and put his staff aside. “Come on lets go outside, there's got to be a lot more than what you’ve told me going on here.”
Later that evening, well after dinner, Ithron returned to his room to make some preparations for his retribution. As soon as things were in place and once he was sure that Auzidor’s bed would fit through the door he went to bed. With his staff hidden under the covers he fiend sleep and waited for the demon. It took a while but finally Auzidor returned to the room. He was none to quiet but he finally went to bed. Ithron waited until he was sure Auzidor was sleeping. He then did as Taera suggested and moved the demon and his bed into the hall and allowed the bed to drop the final foot. As the bed hit the floor the frame snapped and the mattress fell through to the floor. For an instant the metal rod headboard teetered but before Auzidor could react it fell on top of him. Ithron smiled, locked the door he went back to bed.

*Zarich's part written by erbis.*
"Where are we going?" Auzidor asked Zarich slowly. He had a rudimentary knowlege of the common tongue, but he still felt like a child when he used it.
"You'll see. Try to remember the way here. It just happens to be a favored spot."
"For who?"
Zarich just smiled.
Auzidor was used to following Zarich around like a lost puppy. Today was a little unusual, as the two somehow decided to take their normal excursions outside the school, and away from earshot. It didn't really occur to him until now how little he knew of the other demons at the school. Thanks to Zarich he said hello every now and again, but that was about it. There wasn't much interaction time. Strangely, the fact did not bother him as much as he thought it should. Shrugging silently at himself, the duo continued down the skinny dirt path the seemed to be leading nowhere.
"Almost there," reported Zarich.
Auzidor felt his ears twitch a little as the sound of a waterfall came echoing back to them. He felt a sting of curiosity as the sound of laughter came floating towards them as well.
The two finally entered a clearing, that gave way to a small waterfall fed pool. Auzidor was surprised to find what looked like the entire demon community sitting around or in the water.
"Ah, friends!" Zarich said as he clapped his hands together to gain some attention. "There is no need to worry now, I'm here. We can start the fun." There were some cheerful jests and a couple rocks playfully thrown.
"Oh come off it Zarich," a rather sulty looking demon woman said from the water basin-turned-spa. "You don't have the biggest horns in school, I should know." She then threw an over exaggerated wink his way. The gathering of what seemed to be every demon from the school let out a laugh that surrounded the two new arrivals.
Zarich put on his best hurt expression and grabbed his chest in mock pain. "Oh the audacity! I must think of a way for you to make it up to me, for it is almost unforgivable." He then returned the wink. The demon then turned to Auzzy who looked slightly taken aback. "We are a community here, my friend. We're friends, and at often times more than that." He winked once more. "We're a fun bunch." He pointed to the spa, "heated by our innate powers, I'm sure you could crank it up a notch with your particular adeptness at fire. Theres more than water games here though, feel free to socialize. Work on your Common, but they all speak Infernal fine as well."
Another demon woman then walked up wearing a rather revealing bathing suit and sporting a few piercings. "Why hello sexy," she said with a velvety tone as she wrapped around Auzzy. "Lets go have some fun."
"Ah, Quara. She is great at having fun." Zarich said with a nudge. The demon woman rolled her eyes at Zarich then continued to steal Auzzy away.
Auzidor looked back nervously at Zarich, but obediently followed Quara as she tugged at his wrist. They walked down to bank of the little pool, sending out a friendly word of greeting as they passed others on their way. Quara released Auzzy's hand, leaving him on the shoreline. She smiled mischievously and walked slowly into the water, signaling Auzzy to follow. He was hesitant at first, but liked the idea of getting to socialize with someone other than Zarich. Auzzy took notice that his attention seemed fixed on the many piercings around her ears and face, than what the demon girl was wearing.
He removed his shirt and shoes before following Quara into the water. Auzzy focused and compressed heat into the palms of his hands, so that when he finally touched the water, the entire pool began to steam and bubble slightly. A few demons nearby let out a cry of surprise, before settling back into the pool.
Quara just chuckled and reclaimed Auzzy's hand. She introduced him to a few people sitting on the shoreline, and anyone else nearby.
"Want one?" Quara eventually asked him when they were alone.
"One...what?"
The demon girl had noticed Auzzy admiring her piercings instead of her body. It was almost annoying, but she was glad he could appreciate her handiwork.
"Hmm... I think hoops would look nice on you," she said starting to circle him. "Or perhaps studs."
Auzzy looked around, starting to catch on. His gaze landed on a demon male wading in a separate part of the pool. He sported two snake bite rings that Auzzy thought looked rather fun.
"Snake bites?...Yes I could see you with snake bites." she followed his gaze to the boy nearby.
He didn't really want to look afraid, but he thought he would ask anyway. "Whats it feel like?"
Quara laughed. "It's not that bad. Feels a little like this." she wrapped herself slowly around Auzzy, gave him a brief kiss and bit down on his lower lip.
A little startled, Auzidor held very still. He did not touch the demon girl or respond to her in anyway.
Quara agreed to perform the piercing despite rejection.
~
Tired and feeling more than a little foolish, Auzidor returned to the school with Zarich. He told his overly social friend nothing about Quara, and took note that he did not ask. When they came to their dorms, the two waved a quiet good bye and headed for their own rooms.
Auzzy fingered the two metal hoops on his bottom lip as he opened the door to his dorm.
Ithron was back, which was a surprise, but Auzzy couldn't really be bothered to care at the moment. He dropped his wet clothes at the foot of his bed and changed into a pair of boxers.
All seemed to be fixed in his life once he crawled under the covers of his bed. The cares and worries of his day disappeared into his pillow. That is, until the head board came crashing down on his skull.
That was it, Auzzy had had enough today. He wasn't quite sure how he got outside his room with his bed, but it happened. Considering the door to his dorm was locked, he could only guess the culprit. Anger suddenly clouded his mind and he could feel heat collecting in his palms. With a low guttural growl Auzidor pressed his white hot hands to the door, which soon after started to smoke and burst into flame.

The sounds of grunting and then the clang of metal falling to the floor told Ithron that Auzidor had managed to lift the headboard off of himself. Any second now he expected pounding on the door but what he got was something quite different. As he watched the door it began to smoke from two distinct spots and then they burst into flame. Ithron instinctively stepped back away from the door but something inside him made him reach out and walk up to the flaming door. He touched the door but he felt no heat and the fire slowly diminished until it was gone. He had no idea what had just happened but he felt drained. The door knob rattled so he opened it. There stood Auzidor obviously furious.
“You could have knocked.” Ithron said smugly.
The next thing he knew he was seeing stars and was sprawled out on the floor. Auzidor had punched him in the head once again. Ithron looked up at him, smiled, and gave the floor runner they were on a almighty wrench pulling Auzidor’s feet out from under him. Ithron got to his feet and looked down at the demon.
“Enough?” He asked as he extended his hand to him.
Auzidor looked up him with a look Ithron couldn’t read. Then he reached up and took Ithron’s hand and a smile came to his face. As their hands clasped flashes of Auzidor’s life raced through Ithron’s mind and stopped just as sudden when their grip was broken. He’d seen things from Auzidor’s recent memories. His final days in the human world and those things that brought him both pain and pleasure. He also perceived that Auzidor did not have the customary desires in a mate that one in Amdir took for granted. Ithron was not the least bit troubled by this revelation but knew there would be those that were not so accepting of Auzidor’s orientation. He wasn’t sure if Auzidor was aware of what had just happened or if his life had flashed through Auzidor’s mind. Neither said anything about it.
They brought Auzidor’s bed back into the room the old fashion way. When everything had been put in place it was still a bed that had toppled in on itself and was useless. Ithron gave a short laugh, it had been a good prank.
“Listen you can’t sleep on that, so I guess we share mine tonight. Ok with you?” He asked.
It was awkward, cramped and a lot hotter than Ithron was use to but they settled into bed lying back to back. In true elf fashion Ithron’s sleep period lasted only a few hours. He rose quietly and taking his staff he left the room and walked down to the lake and onto the docks. There he opened his mind and allowed his consciousness to travel the divine winds as he had never done before.
A soft hand placed on his shoulder brought Ithron out of his meditation. It was Taera and Katy.
“I hope we’re not interrupting something?” Taera asked. “It’s almost time for breakfast and then classes. You do still eat and take classes don’t you?”
Ithron laughed. “Yah I still need to eat and go to the washroom just like everyone else around here. Like I told you only a few things are different but I’m not sure what’s happening with my classes. Who's your friend?” He asked bowing to Katy
“You mean you don’t remember meeting Katy? She was there when you were escorted out of the school by the two burly ellon. It was her first here.”
Ithron blushed. “Oh yah I do remember you now. Sorry, it wasn’t one of my better moments. We should go.”
“Not until you tell us what happened last night with Auzidor.” Taera said with a mischievous grin on her face.

After Auzzy was stolen off by Quara, Zarich entertained himself with the others. After participating in a laundry list of activities most could only describe as crude and unruly, Auzzy and Zarich went to sleep it all off.
In the morning, Zarich awoke to an enhanced grogginess and a stud in his tongue. "Well that’s new." He said lightly, rolling out of bed. He had a slight lisp now, his tongue still getting use to performing with a metal rod inside of it. "Ah, I remember now." He said after pulling at it, wincing at the still painful accessory, then sitting back.
"Oh come on, Zarich. They're quite normal these days, and I do an excellent job." Quara had goaded him. "Plus, it makes the girls go wild," she added with a wink. That had been what sealed it, Zarich deduced, because he had it put in not much longer after that.
"Mind if I try it out?" He said, after it had been done. Quara promptly smacked him on the head. "Idiot. You won't be able to do anything right with it for a couple weeks till the welling goes down." She then flashed a coy smile at him and ran a hand down his chest. "Call me when it does though." She then ran off to seduce more men, or so he assumed. Quara was never the one to put all her apples in one basket.
After getting out of bed and dressing, it was about time for breakfast. As he was walking to the mess hall, he ran into Auzzy. "Oh, they look nice, Quara does wonders doesn't she? Good at piercing too, huh." he said, nudging the other demon in the ribs. The two sat down at a table and began eating in relative silence. Auzzy finished before Zarich and after a couple minutes of watching him chew slowly, he asked about it.
After making sure to swallow all the food in his mouth, Zarich stuck out his tongue. "I keep thinking I'm going to bite it." he explained. "I'll get use to it eventually, I hope." A few minutes later, he had finally eaten all his food, and the two set out to class.

Their first class was entirely on the history of the demon race. That being said, it appeared to be a demon only class. Auzzy couldn't see the school restraining any other race from taking this class, but no one else volunteered for it. It was Auzzy's favorite class for this reason. He didn't have to struggle his way through the common tongue.
The professor spent the entire class period covering some ancient war between elves and demons. Normally this would be something for the hotheaded demon to ignore. Issues between elves and demons were common due to cultural differences. But Auzzy felt compelled to take extra notes for this lesson.
He didn't consider what happend last night between Ithron and himself a war starter. Afterall, he had extended the friendly hand of violence to Ithron on his first day here. As far as he knew, the elf had just caught on and was returning the gesture. But Auzzy had had his heart dead set on burning down the dormitory last night. His affinity for uncontrollable heatwaves was part of the reason he was even attending this school. Once started, Auzidor was unstoppable until he would eventually run out of energy and pass out. But Ithron had stopped it.
Auzidor had thought he would be happy the day something like that happened. It was a surprise to find that he was not even amused. Not one bit. More than anything else it mad him angry. How was it that the damned elf could control his ability and he couldn't? Having to share a bed with the guy was even worse! And he thought he'd be happy the day something like that happened as well!
Auzzy listened closely for war tactics on the elven front. Nothing proved too helpful.
Disappointed, he left the class as fast as he could and waved a hurried goodbye to Zarich. The two usually split up for different classes at this time.
The demon arrived in his mixed-race Sociology class. The differences between a sociology class at this school, as opposed to the sociology classes in the human world always made him laugh. Or atleast, he trusted his text book to be correct. Humans were so close-minded.
A few students were transfering in today. This always meant that there would be less space in the class, and Auzzy would not get the lone table he had come to expect. Students slowly filed in and, as predicted, people were quick to grab seats next to people they already knew. Part of him hoped no one would sit next to him, so he could continue to prop his feet up on the extra chair. The other part of him had no desire to be that kid in class. The student who always sat alone.
Auzzy wasn't sure if he should be relieved or worried when every seat in the room was filled except the one next to him. Well, he though to himself. Atleast I can still be comfortable.
Just as soon as he relaxed, a young women walked in the door. The professor looked at her schedule, then pointed her in Auzzy's direction. Auzidor made a point to keep a neutral look on his face as she walked toward him. He removed his feet from the second chair, and cleared a space for her that his books were currently cluttering.
Taking a second look at the girl who had just sat next to him, Auzzy realized that he knew her. This was the girl from the boat! He seemed to vaguely remember her hanging around when Ithron had flipped his lid. She looked as if she felt really awkward about being in his presence. He couldn't blame her. Since the first Ithron incident, most people here who knew nothing about demonic customs, saw Auzzy as savage and crazy. Auzidor had to admit he flet that way sometimes... but then again, that was why he was here.
He took a deep breath before turning to the girl next to him.
"Hi, my name is Auzidor," he three year old accent still made him wince, but he talked in a low whisper just the same so as not to disrupt the professor. "You are Katy?"

Katy stared for a moment at the demon in front of her before she was able to respond. Since his encounter with Ithron, Katy had never spoken to Auzidor. She noticed his piercings catching the light as he spoke.
“Hello, Auzidor.” she replied politely. “You speak good English for someone who didn’t know any when you first came. I am Katy.”
For a split second, she considered offering him her hand, but she didn’t know anything about demon customs and wasn’t sure he would know to shake it. Awkward silent followed the two brief introductions, soon broken though, but the teacher that had just arrived.
“Good day, everyone. Let’s get to it then, shall we?”
He was a small man, not stubby and fat, but just short. It wasn’t until he rose up five feet and fluttered over head of all the students that Katy actually noticed his dragonfly like wings. This surprised Katy, who hadn’t seen many pixie teachers, except in the Herbology classes, which she had learned, was a pixies strong element.
Throughout the class, Auzidor and Katy exchanged more words, even though there were still things in English the demon just didn’t quite understand. Even so, she tried her hardest to put things into the simplest terms she could.
“What can you do?” Auzidor asked. He paused for a moment, trying to find the right word. “Magic?”
“Oh! Well… I get weird feelings that I’ve seen something before. I get dreams were people do something and the next day, the person I saw in my dream does what I saw.” Déjà vu wasn’t an easy thing to put into simplistic terms. “Do you understand?”
“You see before it happen?” Auzidor said slowly.
Katy smiled, “Yes. What about –“
Katy looked up to see the teacher looking straight at her.
“I’m sorry, did I interrupt your conversation? This is not a time for socialising. I’m trying to teach a very valuable subject, but I cannot do so with you jabbering away at the back of my class. See to it that it doesn’t happen again.”
“Sorry, sir.”
Throughout the class Auzzy and Katy talked lightly. Knowing each other would be beneficial in the future; Katy could feel it. She also felt obligated to speak with him due to the fact they had arrived to the shores on the same night.
She listened on and off to the lesson, more interested in what the demon had to say. He told her of his ability to create extreme heat waves and super heated fires, and that he was at Amdir to learn more about controlling it and using it properly.
A half-hour later, the class concluded and everyone was dismissed for lunch. By unspoken consent, Katy and Auzzy sat together for lunch, soon joined by Taera who had become good friends with Katy. After proper introductions were made, even though Taera still held a grudge towards the demon, everyone tucked in to the meal. All was pleasant, until Zarich came and sat down beside Auzidor, surveying his company.

A wide mischievous grin was already spreading across Zarich's lips when he settled down in his seat. Taera was already staring icy daggers into the thin demon and it brought a hushed tension to the table. "My, if it were not for my friend here creating constant waves of heat, I do believe I would be frozen solid by now my dear Taera. I did not know you had the power to freeze enemies with your eyes." he said coyly then flashed a disarming smile as he took a bite our of a bread roll. The faerie rolled her eyes and seemed like she was about to leave when he spoke again. "Come now, do not leave. It is said that all disputes must be dropped over fine feast. But even without the fine feast," he pushed some food around on his plate with his fork "I'm not even sure what this would be called, we should still honor the old ways."
Begrudgingly, she seemed to take her seat again and even started eating more of her food. "Now, my little Auzzy, I see you have met some nice new friends in your class. I see you've started to employ those social techniques I've taught you." this made one of the two girls scoff, but Zarich had not caught which one. He had a good idea who it was anyways. "You don't think I can have good social techniques Taera?" he said with an airy tone, sticking his nose up in the air a little higher and acting the part of a highborn noble. After a few seconds he deflated, a laugh escaping his lungs. "No I do suppose you're right, my strength is, after all, in other things."
The conversation continued on rather lightly, and the girls once again even joined in after it seemed that Zarich had not been trying to set them up for something. The bell eventually rang, signaling that the students were to go to their next class. This made Zarich particularly happy, because his next class was designed to augment and enhance his powers. "Ah, my favorite time of the day." He wiped his mouth then stood. "Auzzy, I’ll see you in class. Ladies." he said simply, and then walked away. On his way out he deposited his food tray near the trash then disappeared down the hallway.

Auzidor chuckled quietly as Zarich left the group. That boy took some getting used to, but once you did, you learned to ignore most of the things that came out of his mouth. This was easy for Auzzy because he didnt understand the blabbering demon half the time.
"Well Miss Katy and Miss... Taera," he was certain that he mispronouced the faerie's name. "I hope to see you both later." He planted a kiss on the back of each of their hands, trying out Zarich's version of what he had earlier called "socializing", and rushed to his next class.
Combatives was Auzidor's favorite class. It was the only one that seemed the most useful to him. Today was especially exciting for him, because today was the day Auzzy would get to spar with Zarich. Auzidor had tried before to persuade his demon friend into a friendly scuffle, but Zarich always declined. This was not normal demon behavior, as their race always welcomed a violent challenge. Zarich preferred to let his opponents kill each other so he could be the last one standing without any work. Auzidor found his fighting strategy to be a bit feminine. But today, it was required that Zarich made a stand.
Auzidor's smile revealed a set of strangely sharp canine teeth, and a few people around him parted slightly to allow the insane demon passage through the school halls.
When he arrived at the gym, there was a crowd gathered around the professor and Zarich. Apparently Auzzy's sparring partner was trying to weasel his way out of the assignment. The professor shook his head several times, and smiled widely when he noticed Auzidor enter the room.
Zarich spun on his heel to lean back and glare at his friend, before taking his place at one end of the octagonal shaped ring, a good ten feet away. Auzidor took the opposite end and started to stretch his muscules. He stood upright, gave a big yawn, and spouted flames on the exhale. If there was one thing he had learned from Zarich, it was that crowds loved a show.
The professor blew his whistle and the match started. Auzzy threw two punches from where he stood, which might have looked silly if those punches had not sent two fist sized fireballs Zarichs's way. Grinning widely, Auzidor kicked off from where he stood and followed in their wake.

As Auzy was warming up, Zarich darted his eyes back and forth to look at his surroundings. He despised the combatant ring, at least when he was the main subject. What was even worse was that Auzy personified the fighting arts. He loved to get in close to do the fighting, something Zariach would have to avoid if he were to win. Why was I cursed with such attractive features? he mused. I only want to keep myself from becoming scarred and disfigured. he continued as Auzy started panting fire. Bad time to ponder my luck in the universe. He finished as Auzy charged.
The two balls of fire whizzed in and Zariach was quick to move to quell them. With both of the demons having the innate control over fire, he didn't think that fire would be his problem. However, when the fire only slightly obeyed his command, he started to worry. Doubling his efforts he managed to veer both projectiles out of their original flight path and harmlessly away from his face. Without having time to ponder why the fire wouldn't obey like normal, Zarich dove to the side and landed in a roll to his feet. What he lacked in body structure and strength he made up for in agility.
Auzy growled at him as his target moved just out of reach. Both opponents quickly realized that it would only take the bigger and stronger demon a few hits to sprawl Zarich onto the floor in a pile of shattered ego. As Auzy charged again Zariach quickly whipped out some waves of depressing thoughts. He sent a few images of Auzy disemboweled on the floor, then some of him lost and alone, then more grisly images of torture and insanity. Auzy's charge faltered as his mind suddenly flooded with those images, then a forced feeling of despair.
Through the tumult of nausea and fear he spotted Zariach grin and him and even start to laugh. Now determined, and starting to come back into reality, Auzy shook his head and bull rushed the smaller demon. Zariach's grin quickly fell away as he was slammed into and lifted off his feet. The two fell to the ground, Auzy wrapped around Zariach in a bear hug meant to crush him. The smaller combatant yelped in surprise then started to beat at Auzy around the head and shoulder. Seeing that this was not working, Zariach tried another tactic.
The room started to darken, not because the lights grew weaker but because the darkness grew stronger. Students felt a chill in the air that wasn't there before, and the shadows started to reach out. From the two darkest corners, a pair of vaguely humanoid shadow creatures emerged. When the moved it was more of a shift in light than a motor function. They flowed, the area in front of them darkening while the area behind brightening. The two conjurations flowed through the ring, passing through and around the ropes rather than negotiating around them.
With a mental command, the abjurations flowed to Auzy and started to assault him. They didn't physically hit him so much as flow tendrils of darkness through him, leaving a deep chilling burn. Auzy seemed to clam up, and Zariach took the chance to wriggle free of his crushing bear hug. After getting to his feet, he reigned in his pets, letting Auzy catch a breath and stand up before they continued.

Auzzy growled in frustration. He didn't like these mind games. Where was the thrill of the fight? It was impossible to have with Zarich's mental images. Auzidor decided that his demon friend was no fun.
He looked down at his arms, where Zarich's animations had touched him. The demon boy felt cold... an unusal sensation since his body tempurature was always scorching. Auzidor brought his hands to his mouth and quickly blew into them in an attempt to gain heat. This did very little, and Auzidor realized that he felt cold all the way down to his very soul.
What trick is this? he wondered.
Auzzy looked back to Zarich's monstrosities. There was no way those things were going to touch him again. He spun a quick 360, drawing a foot thick ring of flames around himself and charged. All demons could control fire. Auzzy was just better at it than most. Zarich couldn't fight his element if it was in greater quantity. The more flames for Auzzy, the better.
Zarichs animations let out a bone-chilling snarl and leapt in front of their conjurer.
Auzidor let out a great battle cry and doged to the right, trampling one of Zarich's pets, which was quickly dispelled by the flames. He jabbed quickly with his fists aiming at Zarich's chest, flaming continuing the motions of his punches to the point where his opponents shirt was singed in several places.
Zarich was known for his speed though, and evaded his attacker. Auzzy grew annoyed of his partners lack of action and gave a long kick that caught Zarich under the chin and sent him sprawling across the room.
The second animation was disspelled.
Auzidor knew he'd hear about this later. Zarich would be more worried about his face than winning.
Zarich rolled around on the ground for a minute, trying to extinguish the flames on his chest. Auzzy saw his chance. he cleared the distance between the two in one great bound, and willed his sandals to ignite. Zarich attempted to get to his feet, but Auzzy kicked him back down and placed his foot between his opponent shoulder blades, waiting for Zarich to yield as the clothes on his back caught fire.
